Oh and Kent, snake is extremely cheap. He has longrange attacks, though very easily avoided, are mindgames and in 3/4 people games can easily change the setup. Same with his down 'smash' and down b attacks. Snake is tricky itself.

 

Snake has broken range, high priority, and speed... that I agree. Yes, he does a good job at controlling the field. However, you can't count one factor and forget the rest. He does have a very (one of the most if you're decent...) gimpable recovery and his airgame sucks. Also he is tall...

 

 

 

The problem with him is, when it comes down to fact, he has a lot of weaknesses, unlike MK. He has an extremely hard time against Falcos, and all the rest of the high tier... while he is the second strongest, it's only by a little. (Unlike MK which is basically undefeatable.) He has what you call soft counters... which basically means has around a 60:40 chance to lose, which is reasonable for a counter pick. MK has no counterpicks, and the only character that has even a 50:50 is MK himself, which destroys the metagame, which is why SBR is considering a ban, or at least a soft ban.

 

 

 

Captain falcon is technically the weakest character in the game. He has a bad recovery, he has no prioirty on his attacks (Makes power insignificant, and the speed not enough) range is sub-par, hard time finishing now, as his ko moves are too slow and lack priority, high traction = bad shield grab, he already has low options out of a shield as it is, (This part is mostly Melee) ect.

 

 

 

And for ivysaur, I was testing something. (only on CPU so I know this almost completely fails on Player v player games), if you hit a neutral b (bullet seed), and just time it right you can hit an upsmash.

 

No, you can't. Only an idiot will fall for that... there are no true combos in brawl. (Besides infinites...)

I've been able to do some grab-aether "mix", not going to say combo, followed normally by standard b....i have about a 90 percent chance of landed that "mix" everytime when i play friends....

A true combo is a bunch of attacks strung together that's very hard or even impossible to get out of. The reason Brawl doesn't have any combos is because the hitstun (The time you spend unable to do anything after being hit.) was lowered by a lot compared to Melee.

Dedede is also pretty cheap. CGs on nearly every character, infinites on a few. No glitches as far as I'm concerned though.

As Caxis said, that's just a combo, or if you want me to be technical, a string of attacks done by predicting your opponent's DI + mindgames.

Ganondorf is definetely better than falcon. His over b is great, too.

 

 

 

DDD isn't cheap... he's good, but not cheap. He doesn't have CG on nearly every character, and infinites on 5 chars. (Mario, Luigi, DK, Samus, and I think Bowser)

Aha, there goes that IF word... and no, it doesn't matter. If you can predict a MK, it doesn't matter, he spaces = no punishment. Also, there are much better characters than falcon is (sadly,) every aspect. If you can predict every move your opponent does, why not pick Donkey Kong? Falcon has [cabbage] priority, speed, and range... no, he is not good. It's called a meteor because you can cancel it (there are no [bleep]es in brawl) but it sucks too, as it has a bad startup + predictable + punishable + must sweetspot. Honestly, Falcon doesn't have anything going for him. (Besides him being Captain falcon...)

Yeah, try to back throw as a finisher and recover with PK thunder at an angle from the bottom right (or left) corner of the map as far away as possible to either land on the stage or grab the ledge. It makes it harder to stop you. My friend does it all the time and it drives me crazy. Stupid Lucas. Oh, and fear the F.L.U.D.D.

Speaking of tilts, I have a really hard time pulling off u-tilts. Even if I barely move the control stick up, it's either a smash or I jump :?. It seems like I can only u-tilt when I'm standing still >.>.

Kent, that's what I do with my friends all the time, bottom two drop out because there's like 10 of us... But I normally don't loose my seat or maybe once in the sessions we play, somewhere between 2 and 4 hours (go college students)...And I only choose random, I really like my challenges.. I'm glad to see that certain format actually is in use.... thought me and my friends were the only ones who did it, but I guess we were wrong. :?
