unclebilly1
I'm thinking slayer helmet+fury would make no-prayer Abberants quite nice. You could already do that with a SGS, bunyip, and armadyl. Sure, if you've got 150M+ just sitting around. For the rest of us, the helm is a nice upgrade :) Former Admin of The Death MonkeighsFormer Vengeance CouncilFormer Eternal Honour MemberCurrent Runescape Dinasty Supreme Member

You could already do that with a SGS, bunyip, and armadyl. ...Yyyeesss, but this would make it even better. :P At least when you're on task. Let's say most people wear a noseclip, salve, and Armadyl. They'll hit fairly hard because of the salve, but they'll also GET hit fairly hard, and with slayer helm instead of the noseclip, THAT can be your stat booster instead of the Salve, with a fury giving you 15 more magic defense, which would help a lot. Just clarifying my point. It's not like no prayer abberants were impossible or anywhere near it, but this makes them a cakewalk.

I haven't used pray against Spectres since I was level ~112. 10 Monkfish and my 70 prayer points got me a full inventory of herbs ranarr+, black mystic bottoms, lava battlestaffs, and rune full helms. Tab to pray and use portal back to Canifis. Now, I don't even bring food. Titan or Bunyip both give enough healing, and I use SS or Whip+Def, not SGS (Although I have one). I also use blessed d'hide with karils, because the tower looks so dull... blessed d'hide adds color. :) Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information! RyderJ
Haha, livening up Slayer Tower with your hides. I love you Soma. I still pray on them just because I'm always surprised at how much they hit. 90 magic and defense, with Karils, and I still can't kill enough in a trip to fill my inventory with good herbs. :| Maybe it's just me, though. -Devoted12-
I'd much rather have the ability to make the slayer rings, those teleports are awesome =P~ I agree. :) Only problem I have with that is if I need to charge prayer. I normally do, so Slayer Helm may be better for me at first. :D
Range_This11
i havent played rs in a few months, what do you do to get points to buy this mask? You have to do 5 tasks at any slayer master Caniffs or higher. After the 5th task you accumulate points; Duradel the highest at 15 per completed task. Every task thereafter you gain another 15 points (still on Duradel). At 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. you get a bonus amount of points, each exponentially higher than the previous increment of 10. Burthorping a task resets your task count back to 0. "He could climb to it, if he climbed alone, and once there he could suck on the pap of life, gulp down the incomparable milk of wonder." Guest
I'm confused is there a way to not do an assigment without resetting your points? It seems rather stupid to reset you to 0 just b/c you skip a task.

It seems rather stupid to reset you to 0 just b/c you skip a task. That's kind of the point: to make you work hard for the points. You can use points to skip an assignment or use 100 points to cancel a certain monster for good if you so choose. You're not alone, I faced exactly the same problem. Saw people like Soma etc claiming they don't need food. So I go in there with my Karil, Bunyip and 6 lobbies. Had to tele pretty early... Harrington
I love the new helmet concept... a 15% bonus on tasks where you normally can't wear the slaying mask? Awesome really. It's definately found a place on my "To Do" list.

I know what you mean. After I got 68 summoning, I tried Spectres with Bunyip/sharks, and they hit quite a bit. With 5 sharks and a bunyip, I could get nearly a full inventory of good herbs, but prayer seemed to be the better method, especially considering that I can get a full inventory without a single prayer pot dose if I try. Deathmath
Depends... Hardcore slayers would definitely want one, due to the fact they do enough tasks to justify it. still, for somebody like myself I think it would NOT be worth it. (not going to get into the other stuff since i don't fight those much) Sara Godsword 94.0m black mask 909.1k if you can make the helm.. imho cost wise there is no contest.. (newb here ) The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. 60% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time andrew i love you & want you to have my babys!!! Lemurian
Many people already have a Black Mask for Slayer-purposes, though. Owner of Quest Cape since 11/9/2007 23:30! Working my butt off to get it back.
999134
well instead of the slayer mask why not take the 1mil worth of runes? Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod![hide=old sig][/hide]
Range_This11
The Slayer Helmet is pretty awesome. I took my sweet time getting it over 2 weeks. I have 86 slayer and I can easily tell the improvement from having just a Black Mask. The defence is amazing to have since the Black Mask was basically having a piece of paper over your face. If you're serious about training Slayer you need to have this helmet. It's only 23 straight tasks from Duradel; not too bad. Indulgence
I believe it's definitely worth getting. Leaves more space in invent when I go to kill Abby Demons so I don't have to carry that ugly nosepeg, among with it's other useful tools.

bbjoe282
yes its worth it because anything that allows you to get +15% atk & str of ALL slayer tasks is worth it.
Triquos
Slayer helm + void + slayer cape = hawt  Also the fact that it combines the headgear makes slayer even more convenient, especially if you're going for 99. Whenever I go kill abbies for fun I can use the slayer helmet to ward off the abby spectres on my way there, also with the addition of slayer rings, I can just tele to the slayer tower - so either way it's a win-win and the rewards are definitely worth it.
