I downloaded the demo today. I have never picked up a Battlefield game until now, but it is defiitely amazing. The destructible environments add a whole new layer to the strategy element. I was on the artillery gun, and after getting 14 kills, and at the same time nearly destroying their ability to defend in that area, I decided to go check out the town I had hit so many times. It was utterly destroyed. Now I knew why my bombings had made it so easy to destroy the gold crates, the walls were wide open! I had wondered why they hadn't tried to escape to the east, go around the river, and take me out. Seems I destroyed the bridge!

If you think that's fun, pick up one of the older BF games. It's like that x10.

Honestly the artillery gun is horribly unbalanced. The fact that you can stay in your respawn area and rain death upon enemies miles away makes it just plain unfair.

"Tactical destruction" is just a gimmick. Taking out a bridge is pointless when you can swim. Walls are nearly pointless as cover since a grenade launcher or gunfire just rips it to shreds. As for being able to attack gold crates easier, it really only saves you 10 seconds of time, you just walk straight instead of in a small circle.

It's up to you. I personally don't trust reviews, since all big-name titles generally get high scores automatically. I'm going to at least rent it so that I can beat the single player, which actually looks pretty fun.

If you're not sure about a game, rent it first, then buy it if you like it.

20 Bullets to take a fence down, 1 slash of a knife.

Either way I loved the demo.

Most haters seem to be complete morons so far .. And people complaining OH NO NOT FOR PC!!! when they're is one coming for pc ... Use some sense. -.-

I didnt like the demo that much.

The multiplayer is very unbalanced, vehicles/copters/artillery guns will rape you unless you use demolitions, snipers are considerably underpowered, plus EA are giving people the best guns at level 1 if they pay extra, rather than at level 25. The singleplayer seemed pretty generic and unexciting.

The graphics were decent, and I did like being able to blow apart walls and fences to make alternate routes. This means that the game wont get old for a long time, but then personally I feel the game isnt that good anyway, especially compared to other Battlefeild games and games like Warhawk and COD4.

If you think the snipers are overpowered in this, then what are the COD4 snipers? As you will usually 1 hit someone in COD4 but even with the maxed damage sniper it can still take 2 shots.

It's very easy to accidentally put your plow (bullets) in an ally's field (head).

Thank goodness you cleared that up. We could have been thinking very differently :)

from what i hear it sounds like a good game (1.5gb for demo, hell no!),but (like in other battefields) the game is all about the multiplayer. The multiplayer demo is already the fourth most played game on xbox live (GTA, halo, and COD beat it). When copies really start selling and the price drops a bit it it might surpass COD4 online. I would get it, but im getting GTA 4 and a new mike.

Snipers don't seem to be able to hit anything. Are you supposed to lead your shots or is it just bad hit detection?

Isn't it like how in BF2 and the other BF games that sniping from a distance away you have to aim to the top of their head or a little above and in front of their head to kill em.

I'm going to assume it's the same. You'll need to aim high for anything > 150m; and lead time based on lateral movement across the screen.

Feel like resurrecting this topic, since I just rented the game and love it. Anyone else have it/renting it? Maybe we could play together. If you want to lose. 8-)

Have to say, tanks are my biggest grievance. Scary when you're on foot :(

No, wait. How easy it is to kill your own teammates. I was chasing a guy down to knife him, and my teammate pops through the door, surprising me ( I thought he was an enemy, no blue thing), so I knifed the crap out of him and the guy I'm chasing.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

The amount of squad members I have TK'd when they're spawned on me just after i've finished taking out enemy troops is rediculously high, like easily in the 100's  :wall:

You must predict their movement. Fire where they are just about to go to.

As for the game as in general. The multiplayer gameplay is great but the game is let down by its lack of good interfaces and facilities like Private matches which completely rules out any prospect of proffessional/competitive gaming on the game and the unreliability of the party system and no clan support what so ever.

Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.
Sounds like Jagex to me...

Taking note of the scorch marks on the opening in there, I'd imagine that it was really just someone who was a little overactive with the C4 or the RPG.

And what map is that? I would call it Over and Out, but I know that 1) You're using the XBOX version of it and 2) I don't recall seeing the mounted weaponry along that bottom path or up top there.

New Topic: I hate the fact that they put a Rocket Launcher near the chopper spawn at the RU Base in End of the Line - Conquest mode. There's been several times that I've come down to land there so I can make repairs, and as I'm landing, all of the sudden some idiot on my team fires the rocket right at me and TKs both me and my turret operator. I swear we've lost at least 5 games because someone shot me out of our own chopper, while the other team runs in afterwards totally unopposed.
