Summoning the new Smite?

@Dan3HitU

Recommended Posts

This is my own personal opinion so don't believe any of this unless you think it's true.

Jagex pushed Summoning so much and did make it the widest Skill ever released as it effects every skill in some way.

Summoning will use it in PvP (especially the next one where you drop your items like the old wildy) to make a whole new dimension to PKing?

Summoning Familiars in the near future will be able to help you fight in non-multi areas (Nechraeyl and Death Spawn for an example).

Afterall using a Familiar is just the same as using a Prayer.

Besides that that is already known and widely accepted by most, it's whats already happening.

Summoning has changed major aspects of many different parts of the game, drastically.

And it's still finding new ways to change things.

As well, I really don't know where you got your claims about this new pvp game, unless you mean Castle Wars being updated, but it's not a new pvp.

I'm guessing you're making assumptions in half you're post? where is the proof that a new game where you drop items is coming out and that we will ever be able to use familiars in non multicombat areas? It would be nice but I don't believe it.

Jagex said they're making it, if I remember rightly it was Mod Mark in one of the Development Diarys.

Just my opinion, I provided a example to back it however.

There is going to be a Clan Wars option where you will drop your items when you die. Just to clarify, the opposing player won't get your items. They are dropped to create a sense of "danger"

Lol, that sounds slightly silly.

Risk V Reward is brilliant.

Risk V Nothing is a little... pointless?

It was asked towards pkers if they would prefer that and they said yes, Jagex never thought it would be a popular idea.

That's what I've always thought, but evidently there are people out there that just like the idea. I even remember a thread from a while back (it must've gotten erased in the rollback) where a bunch of people were saying they liked the idea of having a dangerous mini-game even without the chance for getting other peoples' items.

Haha yeah i thought exacty that when i read it on a J mods forum post. I think it showed how out of touch that particular mod was with the pking scene.

OT: i think the main summons that would be used in a pking situation would be the healers like unicorns, or beasts of burden. with the exception of the steel titans special, none of the familiars have really impressed me with their pvp. Some of the abilities sound promising, like the ravenous locusts, but they never seem quite powerful enough to be worth using. I did laugh yesterday when a 116 friend lost in a 1v1 against my lava titan, but that was in pits.. in a pking situation where your oponent has sharks and brews to hand it wouldn't make much difference.

Also, hypothetically speaking, if a pking game was introduced that was like old edge, where you fight people within 5 levels of you own, do you think the extra levels given by summon and the extra power you get from it be worth it against a pure melee account with 1 summon? i.e. a ~105 maxed rune pure vs someone with the same combat but 40-50 summon?

Can't see summoning being allowed in item dropping pvp.

A steel titan+ ags special will easily kill anyone in one hit.

Overpowered eh :geek:

ags spec=70, just get his hp to 70 and you easy 1 hit him... why not try dds specs? or dark bow specs? also one hit KO...

You should know by now not to trust Jagex's statements on future updates.

Most of the summoning monsters aren't great. You really need to spend a few hundred thousand gp to get some good familiars. I don't think most pkers will bother.

so your saying 300k-400k gp. for decent summoning? well thats way off i have spent over 4m (after selling pouches) for 65summoning :x

I meant from full hp #-o

And 43-43 dds/d bow specs are so rare it isn't even funny.

ags is a bit more accurate then the dagger i would say... but still less "risk" with the dagger..

anyway, i find for my level the talon beast is pretty good, it's time between hits is alot faster then most familiars(i think) but, its max hit is only 5... but it does attack with, both arms/paws then its mouth. making for a possible "slow" 15 damage. if this hits accurately on players(not tested) could slowly work down a players food. But thats only good for a death match i guess.

Even low summons COULD hit an 8 or so which would help KOing someone (KOing IS PKING), people talk about pking like only multi-billionaires do it which is patently untrue, I'd say the MAJORITY of pkers are pures around lvl 80 combat who have a bank worth maybe 10million.

When a new skill comes out it will change the way we play runescape. For example, Hunting changed the way we train Range, it opened up new money making opportunities. The same can be said for Summoning. It will change runescape, the features are going to change the way we play if we choose to use those opportunities.

Yes, but nothing has changed things like Summoning has:

It's a combat skill that actually helps every skill in some way, no other single skill helps every other skill available.

I can't find where they said but Jagex said commented about that in saying that was going to be an incentive with clan battles, a richer clan would risk losing better armor and hence have an advantage over a poorer clan that would choose a lower grade of armor

And when noob punching comes out as its own mini-game, that will change how begging is done.

"Can I hav 3k plz?"

*Noob gets pummeled by everyone in the nearby area*

Congratulations, you've leveled! You can now beat up people who start a sentence with "Can I have"

That would be an interesting match, especially because at 105 combat, you can't get a high summoning level without damaging your combat stats too much.

If you could have a 1v1 with a familiar, people wouldn't be able to let their hp get as low as they normally would because they are under constant attack (even when your opponent is busy eating). I imagine this would be a pain to dharokers

then handle your money better. I spent 50k on 41 summoning and only used a few more afterwards. If u wanna save cash, use smething that uses few shards and get your own seconds

Please think before you post... If you would have done something else in the time you wasted gathering seconds, you could have made much more money (in most cases). And mostly, you're better off making the best pouch you can, since it gives more xp, so you have to make less pouches. Okay?
