The Political Compass, Where Do You Stand?

I used to be right next to Gandhi, but now I'm even more to the left.

I'd wonder where blokes like the real Lenin or Trotsky would fall, if they'd fall out of the "stalinist-commie" way of thinking.

You really think so? Trosky was a fervent opposer of Stalin totalitarian methods, and supported (soviet-)democracy as well as socialism.

Trotsky was also one of the strongest supporters of collectivisation and oppressing the kulaks, and given time, he would have adopted authoritarian methods as well.

I remember taking this before and getting a completely different answer... but to be honest I think that was because I didn't understand any of the questions. #-o

Can't be bothered to upload it but I got exactly in the middle of the Libertarian/Left square :)

Btw, can someone explain the difference between authoritarian and libertian? I've got a rough idea from the names but I'm not sure.

It is about what people are allowed to do.

Liberal: People can do whatever they want to do.

Authoritarian: The governments decide what people can do.

As you can see, my result was identical to where Hitler's point was on the graph :ohnoes:

You are so full of it. That's the 3rd different set of results you've edited in for yourself. First you were in upper right area, then EXTREME upper right, and now you've magically changed again. Nobody's going to feel impressed or threatened because you've somehow matched Hitler, especially after the way your results have been changing every few hours.

Authoritarian = the state having a more control over people's lives

Libertarian = the state having less control over people's lives

I did the thing (For the third time, I do it now and then) and I'm fairly close to the middle. I'm quite commie, though. I would post it, but internet exploder crashed. I wouldn't use it if it wasn't the only thing availible.

Right, I'm not to good at this whole politics thing so which part of the graph is considered good?

I took the test last night while browsing tif on my PS3, my result was inbetween Hitlers and Margaret Thatcher

Can't remember the number though I just need to know if that's considered good or extreemely bad? ( )

I've cleaned the thread of all Off Topic and flaming posts. If you want to continue another discussion, please make do so on PM or make a new thread. Also, there's no need to call other users idiots, so let's stop the name calling as well. Thanks.

[hide=graph]politicalcompassfl6.png[/hide] Don't exactly know what that means though :P

Basically, it means you lean towards the left-wing of the political spectrum. You're attracted more towards Socialism (left-wing) than Conservatism (right-wing).

The vertical axis corresponds about how much liberty and freedom you believe people should have in balance to how much responsibility the government has over day-to-day life. You're pretty bang up in the middle between the two. Perhaps you believe the state has a responsibility to protect people, but not the expense of things such as free trade and speech?

[hide=My Graph]Your political compass

Economic Left/Right: -3.00

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.05

Interesting...I thought I was way more left-wing liberal than this shows I am. Oh well, I guess I still have some hope left for our government.

Lol at OP, right on the Hitler spot.

So you sucker punched a kid in the back of the head? Good job.
What scares me is that you're like 10 years old.
-.- im not that freaking young
You were a couple years ago.
It's not racist if its true.
Hmm... I wonder how one goes about throwing someone out a window in a mystic fashion :-k

The mental image for that is freaking awesome.

Ha, looks like I'm close to Stalin. My parents are registered Republicans, but I'm registered as "unaffiliated". I tend to lean more toward the Republican side on most issues, but every now and then a Democrat has a good idea or plan. Basically, I don't want to get bogged down in the whole party loyalty thing.
