Entitled to your email?

I find it so odd that we can't get new passwords through email and so on :S

I don't feel safe,when i don't get info through my mail...

Sorry, i guessed it would be hard to understand what i mean. Anyhow i mean do you feel safe knowing that your Account isen't registered using your email.

Example, most online games, if you loose your pass all you do is enter your email and they will send u a new password in your email.

Runescape is not like that :S #-o

i feel more safe,if your mail gets hacked ,your rs account is still safe.

That's because if somebody gained access to your email, they would automatically have access to your Runescape account. It's more secure with the only way being to enter your recoveries or your password.

Yeah i know, but i experienced that remmembering your char details after you quit after a year is kinda hard.

And by that time you forget other detials also.

And that leads to you not acessing your account.

sorta, i kinda makes me think that if im hacked its alot more effort to get my account back

stupid forums lost my dragon count , well atleast i know i got a d chain from a dusty!

I do feel safe. As stated, it only serves as another way to lose your account.

Email is really not all that secure.

Alot of people don't even password protect their email on their home computer and have things such as MSN on an auto sign in system.

I think it is much safer totaly seperate.

Lol, so really your concern isn't security. It's forgetting your account details. Here's an idea if you want to be sure you'll be able to get back in your account through your email- email yourself your password and recovery question answers and save it to a folder in your email. Then you won't have to worry, and the rest of us don't have to deal with our email being another way to our Runescape account.

Personally I'm much less protective about my email because I don't do anything important with it. Oh no, they saw that email from my girlfriend about nothing and the confirmation email from Amazon about buying that book. Much better than logging in to find somebody has played BH in my (120m+) slayer outfit.

pretty much the most truthful

I remember a pmod saying she got an email from something like 'jagex@hotmail.com.' People will try everything just to get their hands on your pixels.

i would not feel any safer having it go to my account even though i am not to worried about getting hacked(*has a feeling his bad luck is gonna get him hacked now*) i like the security of not having my info sitting open in my email.

Pretty much the reason here. Since RuneScape is played by siblings, it wouldn't work out for this reason.

When you use your recovery questions, Jagex automatically encrypts everything, making it much harder to hack. And even if you used an email encrypter, which I doubt ;) , the email would still be less secure than using the Runescape website.

Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <3

nah, i pretty much use my e-mail EVERYWHERE, even in business, so i feel totally safe.

I don't feel safe playing RS. Period.

There are so many different way people can try to get your account, it's not even funny. :(

what he said.

Two words: Email spoofing

Basically, there are servers on interent from which you can send emails to people and make it appear as if it comes from ANY address you'd want. It would become really easy to steal accounts if people weren't suspicious about their emails.
