Anyway, I think that price drops are associated with item lending, but, it wont be here to stay. People will figure out how the system is or isnt good, and will react accordingly.

I think prices will go up. People will borrow the item, and want one for themselves. That will increase demand, and will drive up prices.

Well, it would affect the prices same as when trading was there.

 

And it's best not to start insulting jagex for bringing out item lending. Players were complaining for something like this, jagex provided.

Just a precaution, wait a week if you will for them to work out the kinks, you wouldn't want your Ags or Phat to glitch ownership the the borrower.

The drop of the godswords isn't necessarily related to item lending - they've been doing that for awhile.

 

 

 

Don't forget that godsword owners may be reluctant to give other people such a freebie, when they know it's hurting them.

i think it will initially crash some items, but they will recover over time, maybe never to "old" prices but thats just the way it works with epensive items.

I doubt Jagex will let that happen. I'm sure they will test this thoroughly. After all you remember what happened after the last major glitch Jagex let through :ohnoes:

Before the trade update, you could loan out any items and do what you want with them. Prices weren't affected by it, were they?

 

 

 

Plus, the fact that one can loan out an item probably wouldn't lead people to start dumping their expensive items at the first sign of anything. Unless all of this speculation scares the ---- out of them.

yeah i agree you could go in with someone eles gs and die and have it protected so no problem but if you lose it the other guy will go @#$#

they may implement a system if you are fighting with a item lent to you all items are lost on death expect the leant item but hey only time will tell

No, I don't think that the release of this new lending system will be the end of the GWD. Some prices will be changed rather drastically, but they will recover over time.

If you die with a lent item it is ALWAYS protected, meaning that it is impossible to lose. Yes, they can be taken into combat too. (I'm not sure what's going to happen as regards to the skull obtained through the abyss).

 

 

 

I'm not sure how much of an effect item lending will have on the prices of certain items; having to borrow an item every 24 hours may be a little inconvenient for some and you can only be borrowing one item and lending one item at a time anyway. You have to find someone willing to lend their item as well. :P

 

 

 

Even if you're skulled, you will keep the item. Also, Jagex will probably put a restriction on you taking it into BH. And anything that can be damaged, such as barrows, will not be able to be lent. ;)

i doubt it will make that much difference, merchanters have been planning to loan their god swords out by selling players their junk this should even out any demand change, furthermore it's not possible to keep the item upon log out or for over a certain time period meaning it would be much more efficient for a player to get their own. Jagex are clever so i'm sure they've thought of these problems and made the changes necessary to stable out prices.

well i decided to see the desperation of people owning bgs and it is unbelieveable i mean i put offer to buy a bgs on forums for a crazy 22 mil ( 6 mil uner the med price ) and got around 7 people pm me if i wanted to buy theres for 22 mil i mean these prices are gonna drop like crazy i also wanted to know how much can a gs drop at one time is it like a max of 1 mil ???

well new ge updates and bgs down a further 1.1 mil and sgs down a whopping 4.2 mil

That BGS is falling faster than buildings.

That's why I sold mine before lending came out. They have been dropping in price since before then, IIRC.

i sold mine and managed to only lose 400k luckily

Its like rares and the trade updates too.. I bought a Santa last November for 22 million, and ended up selling it for 17 million right before the updates.. Jagex is indeed smart [in their own way ;) (no matter what you may think)], and has thought of the cause and effect of everything imaginable, but their true ability to see into the future, and how people will really react is impossible, and flaws will always remain..

I think I will wear by valuable things today and wander about not lending them to everyone who asks in the politest possible way. :thumbsup:
