many have noticed the crazy price drops over all of the items obtained through the gwd boses. i mean just today the price of a zammy god sword has dropped nearly 1 mil. so now i ask will the addition of the new lending system end the want to get that elusive bandos hilt drop when its split between 3 players at 5 mil each ( bit over exagerated but you get the point).

Yea I can't really tell what will happen, usually you can, but there are pros and cons which can and cannot change the price of items. EG

 

 

 

Pro of item lending - people may want the item, thus more demand.

 

 

 

Con of item lending - people just lend the item and never save up for one themselves, thus less demand.

If you die with a lent item it is ALWAYS protected, meaning that it is impossible to lose. Yes, they can be taken into combat too. (I'm not sure what's going to happen as regards to the skull obtained through the abyss).

 

 

 

I'm not sure how much of an effect item lending will have on the prices of certain items; having to borrow an item every 24 hours may be a little inconvenient for some and you can only be borrowing one item and lending one item at a time anyway. You have to find someone willing to lend their item as well. :P

If you choose to lend an item for 24 hours, item will not returned upon log out, but after 24 hours.

I assume you'll be able to decide whether it will be returned after 24 hours or when either player logs out.

All the godswords are droping. If you look at charts on the GE database the ags droped 3 mil in a day. After people realize the lending system isnt all of what they wanted, it'll go back up. You know the first day people are going to be trying to find out some bug to keep the items.

The drop of the godswords isn't necessarily related to item lending - they've been doing that for awhile.

 

 

 

Don't forget that godsword owners may be reluctant to give other people such a freebie, when they know it's hurting them.

The godswords have been dropping in a pretty straight line for ages. This is normal behaviour to the price due the heavy increased supply:

 

* A lot better guides have been written, read and studied by many people. This means every day more and more people know how to do god wars properly.

 

* The ability to get incredible riches has caused an increased amount of people to actually do the stuff written in those guides and/or train the skills needed to do them.

 

* People are getting more and more organized in their trips and this way increasing the load at the bosses on LS worlds. This means every day more and more gp piles are being dropped to the ground and gw items being sent to the GE.

 

 

 

In the other hand this kind of increasing supply wouldn't alone be enough to drop the prices, also the demand must work with it. Currently the demand for godswords is either dropping, staying the same or increasing a lot slower than the supply of them.

 

* The godswords really rarely vanish from the game. This means that today there's more godswords ingame than there was yesterday and tomorrow there will be more than today while nothing really boosts the demand with the same speed.

 

* Godswords aren't too ideal investments for many people: the increasing supply added do slower demand makes them drop in price, they aren't THAT useful in many things and the number of people not having them already but the wealth to buy them increases slowly.

 

 

 

The itemlending might cause a drop in the prices due the fact that for random godwarrers going there for few trips becomes easier with borrowed armours. This means there can be a slight cut in the demand and a little increasement in the supply. Of course there's always the possibility that after seeing how handy the items are people might actually invest on them, but for some reason I doubt it... Anyways the point was that the prices would go down even without item lending, but it may make it a bit faster.

the big thing that you are all missing is that ONLY one item can be lent/borrowed at a time, this item, yes will mainly be godswords so yes they will go down, but if the borower likes the uses of the godsword he might save up for one, so it could go eather way with godswords realy. then you look at the armor, who is going to want to borow just one piece of armor. now this doesnt mean armor wont go down. i think the ones going down are: b plate(because it will be barrowed for the looks, and the fact that torags legs are better that tasets), bandos boots(*lendes to friend cause he is going to gdws and doesnt want to buy his own*), and arma legs(due again to the godwars factor) but the other stuf i see no reason for them to go down in price, how many ppl do you know that will be barrowing tassets as there one item? or an arma helm?

The glitch is that once the item is lended for 2 hours or 24 hours, a limitation in the system means that it can't be returned to the owner until that time period is up.

Ok, just taking my friend's AGS, full bandos, zerker and fury into BH no problem it'll all be protected..? Or "I'll lend you my ranger boots and you lend me yours, that way we can go to Armadyl with them without worry!"

you have a good point. Maybe you'll have one chance to safely borrow and one chance to safely lend at a time and after that both players need to agree to a "dangerous lend"?

I think theres going to be price drops all over the place up to when it comes out.

 

Prices will start to rise again when people realise that they might not be able to get hold of items as easily as they hope, I think people reckon theres going to be GS's and stuff open for lending everywhere, then they'll just buy if they can afford.

 

 

 

I don't think degradable things like barrows and crystal will be able to be traded and borrowed things won't be allowed into BH and Clan Wars with items dropped on death.

Will it be one loan per person to recieve, or one loan per lender?

 

Because if you can just borrow all your items from people you could just go anywhere and not worry about losing anything...
