July 14, 200817 yr I think this is going just a little bit far in Runescape-mania... A novel?? Really?

July 14, 200817 yr i like to read all the lores and histories that come out ("The Fall of Six" is my fave) and especially enjoy the depth in which some of the quests go to not just tell you the story of the quest, but background into the story of the whole of runescape. I must admit, i did think this might be a good read (if it's anything like the lores), but i too cringed at the sight of the price - £13.99 for a novel based around a game i pay £3.20 a month to play. if i was younger and not working, that'd be a choice of a book based loosely on Runescape, or 4 months of actually playing the game itself (and that's not including delivery prices, i never got that far). It is a good idea, but not something i'll partake in. After all, you can get "Making Money" by Terry Pratchett for £5.00 and you can guarantee that it will make you laugh. RSN: d35h1_5k4t3r

July 14, 200817 yr I don't think many teenagers will buy this, unless it's for home reading. I don't think anyone would want to be caught reading a RuneScape novel during class. :-#

July 14, 200817 yr I said no in the poll. Mainly because of 2 things. One the price is rediculously high. Second my rl friends hate runescape. -.- And besides I am not intrested in this story. Quick Link to Lem's Blog
July 15, 200817 yr Runescape isn't my life, sorry. To be honest I'd rather read about real life history, like about the Cold War or something. While neither is very interesting, one makes you sound smarter and less nerdy while one makes you sound dumber and more nerdy. I play the game for recreation, not to immerse my life into it. Besides, 90% of teenagers probably don't read anything they don't have to (school work). For the Runescape population it's probably like 60% don't. Jagex makes their money on memberships because we like to play Runescape. They shouldn't try to do the same for all of the reading-for-recreation people and hardcore RS players who read and know everything. ^^ Spreadin' da wurd ^^I'm old skool baby ;) *looks at join date*Current amount of years playing Runescape: 5.5 On TIF: 5
July 15, 200817 yr i'm going to have my own debit soon, with 15 hundred dollars. i would definitely not mind buying one. i always need something to read at school.
July 15, 200817 yr No. I'm going to stick with science fiction for both my good literature and my badly written pulp. I have no desire whatsoever to buy, let alone read this rubbish written by an author I've never heard of, with a horrid plot, based on an mmo. From the description, it honestly sounds like the script for a RS themed horror/suspense/thriller/whatever movie with a $1250 budget and no acting talent. No. Just no. There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.
July 15, 200817 yr I have to agree with many on here, RS isn't my life. I have more important things to spend my money on. Plus I'm not -that- much of a nerd. I mean come on, if I went into one of my college courses and had a book of RS, I'd auto fail that class. ^.^
July 15, 200817 yr even thought i like reading i wouldnt even consider buying it without some people acknowledging its goodness... i dont wana pay for a book thats a total load of [cabbage] O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O OO O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
July 15, 200817 yr I think I might be one of the only people that is actually interested enough in Runescape history to actually buy a Runescape book. Now if I actually had the money for it I would be all set. :P The Internet: where men are men, women are men, and children are the FBI.First Dragon Drop 5/6/2006 -Dragon Med from Bronze Dragon :DFirst Barrows Item From Chest 2/20/2007 - Verac's Brassard :D
July 15, 200817 yr lol i definately will not buy that book. for one miles too expensive and im not that geeky. Rs is an online mmo not a hobby style cult with merchandise to match. Jagex shud personally stick to wat they r good at and make online games. I mean i havent even heard of this author and y does that not surprise me
July 15, 200817 yr I think I might be one of the only people that is actually interested enough in Runescape history to actually buy a Runescape book. Now if I actually had the money for it I would be all set. :P I'm like that, except I would probably wait until it was out just so I could see if it was worth it before I put the money down on it. I thought about scrounging up enough to just go ahead and get it, but then I thought better of it. I mean, the history and lore and everything is good, so this should be good too, right? Right...? Um... :? Yeah...I think I'll wait and see what everyone else says about it. All I know is that if I end up getting it, once I'm done reading it, it's going to be hidden away in a deep, dark, and scary place that way nobody will ever find it. It would be a bit embarrassing to have a college roommate or something come across it. #-o
