Same. Blaming the music is like blaming the sword [its the holder of the sword that matters]. it's all about the atmosphere. Even if i can't stand some of the songs they used to play at my highschool dances, seeing the giant mosh pits, and "standard" dances [ie: stanky leg] made it fun. And yes, I can do pretty much all of the preset song dances. But I'm not sure how to Dougie. Could someone teach me how to Dougie?

Ahhh! I hate that song. And every other one of those dance songs. I'm sure the dances themselves are fun, though. I've never really bothered to learn.

I also am not very confident about my dancing. It's mostly just that I haven't really tried it. I took a ballroom dancing class when I was younger, and while I don't remember it very well, I could probably figure it out again pretty easily. The problem is I just have no idea what to do with myself in these big, sweaty pits of people dancing to music that annoys me. It's mostly because I haven't had an opportunity to try recently, but I still feel like I would look like a fool in that sort of situation.

 

To all the "It's stupid" people - Yes, the music is usually bad. Yes, the people may seem bad. But it's an excuse to grind with random hot girls, and that should never be passed up.

See the thing is, I don't like grinding. I'm 6'3 and most of the girls I grind with are 5'2-5'7. It feels like I'm doing a squat work out most of the time. Secondly, I don't even like the whole "grinding" concept. I'm basically rubbing my [bleep] on the girls ass, and that just feels weird, especially when its with girls I'm just friends with. Grinding doesn't accomplish anything other then making me horny and giving me a workout. Oh and usually to slow hip-hop beats. I don't know why this grinding thing has become so popular.

Not sure what you don't like about it. I hate the music most people grind to, but finding a girl with the right stature for you with a song you can actually feel makes dancing a wonderful experience. My ex and I loved dancing because of our chemistry and compatibility. I mean...obviously the relationship wasn't great for those who know my story, but the dancing was awesome. And because of my dancing experiences with her, I crave to find another girl with similar talents. Not liking dancing is actually grounds for a break up for me. One of the other girls I dated refused to dance...that relationship lasted all of 3 weeks. I mean, that wasn't the reason...but dancing is important to me.

You don't have to grind. Just dance face to face.

Get up, put on a dancy song, and do a two-step. Right now. Try rolling your hips a little, or pushing them from side to side with the rhythm. Raise your arms above your head, move them to the beat in whatever way feels natural. What's most important is that you let go and have fun with your lady. That's what will make her happy.

If you want it to be a great present, no one can give you advice on it imo. It has to be something meaningful from you - something that pertains to her interests or has to do with something you two have shared. So someone who doesn't know her can't give you an idea like that. Without knowing her, any suggestions will probably be the typical flowers, jewelry, candy, stuffed animal, etc.
