That's what I was thinking too, but I wasn't sure because that'd be way too hypocritical. Maybe if their reason for taking it away was because the sites were scamming you that'd be okay, but they said it gives players "an unfair advantage" which is exactly what jagex themselves would be doing

I believe the microtransactions are actually for Jagex's fourth project, after Mechscape is released.

 

 

 

They've mentioned it a few times.. Runescape will most likely remain the way it is(Where you can't buy advantages with money[except a members account, of course.]. Jagex seems very adamant on keeping Runescape fair.), FunOrb might get some microtransactions in the future(I know they're going to let you buy things[like avatars] with Orb Coins and such.. Not sure about whether or not they'll let you buy Orb Coins with real money, but it sounds possible.), and I assume MechScape will probably be like RuneScape.

If they were there, I'm sure not many people cared. I mean seriously would you rather look at Tom Clancy's End War, Fallout 3, and Spore or a crummy browser game you probably associate with poor people? Let's face it, Runescape isn't exactly a well received game and it never has been.

 

 

 

Its a successfull game that has had a long lifespan. games like Tom Clancys i play for a month then get bored so yeah.. i dont really go back to them sure they have more hype but i come back to rs.

 

 

 

I think you misinterpreted what I said. You see, you and I obviously like the game because we play it. But somebody that has no knowledge of it will probably look at it, go "meh" and move on whereas if they see a fancy new game with up-to-date graphics and fast paced gameplay they will go "awesome!". Runescape has always been criticized for bad graphics (not so much anymore) and for grind heavy gameplay. And they are right, the graphics [were] are mediocre and all you do gameplay wise is point and click. Runescape might be fairly successful, but it will always remain in the shadow of more mainstream games made by well know companies.

Thevarious team and single player based minigames, quests, various boss monsters, i think that covers at least 1/3 of runescape if not more.

On topic, I never did see them, I went onto g4's site and searched through their archive of videos covering e3 for all 3 days and didn't see anything about jagex, I did come across a debate from fans on which game was better though, WoW players kept saying how WoW was 10x better then Runescape, But I mean for a Java based browser game Runescape set's the Standard, whereas with WoW you must download it and pay 3x the money a month, but runescape definitely won the debate in community

We will always focus on improving RuneScape and adding more depth to it. That said, a year from now, I would expect more of a focus on multiplayer and teambased gaming. We believe that players would benefit from more social content, and we have some great ideas for this. You won't have to be in a clan to do any of this either we have plans for match-making scenarios where you could meet other players and team up with those that you like. We see RuneScape as a forum for people to meet and get to know each other.

I'm open to the idea, but I think it will be difficult given that the #1 said word in the game is "noob". They need to find a way to strain out the little kids/people who act like little kids. Now THAT would be a good update, even if impossible.
