What accents do you like?

Featured Replies

I like the New Zealand accent a lot, although that might just be from watching a lot of flight of the conchords. British accents are nice too. Another accent you don't hear much anymore is the transatlantic accent. Everyone in old black and white American movies spoke in it.

I just love these Welsh and Irish accents, they're realy funny. I've always wanted to imitate them but t's way too hard. :P

This signature is intentionally left blank.

Well, I lack any real dialect and my accent has been called "a BBC accent". My friends say I should go on the radio

Anyway, I like Eastern European accents.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

this website might help. http://accent.gmu.edu/index.php has accents from all over the world.

The speech accent archive uniformly presents a large set of speech samples from a variety of language backgrounds. Native and non-native speakers of English read the same paragraph and are carefully transcribed. The archive is used by people who wish to compare and analyze the accents of different English speakers.

Why even try with that idiot? Honestly, there is no point whatsoever. I'd get better replies if I argued with a tree stump.
Personally, im quite fond of Stephen Fry's accent. I suppose his is somewhat posh, or atleast is stereotyped as, anyway.

However, my accent is a weird cross between The Wurzels and Hugh Grant. Bloody England.

Oh my god....Cad! Long time no see eh?

I just like no accents. I'm from California. Theres not really an accent here. Southern accents are kinda hot on girls though.

There is NO accent here lol...unless American is an accent. Do you live in the Bay Area? I live in San jose :-#

I was born in Yorkshire, so I have a dull accent.

I like girls with the british accent or australian. They are good if they don't talk loud.

Can't understand you Scousers! Or the typical German speaking English "Yaa, I'm wearing lederhosen." I don't believe all German speak like that when they attempt to speak English but man! That grates my cheese.

I can do pretty much all Asian accents (except Chinese,go figure) and they're all funny.

But for a girl...I like a strong British sounding accent if I can get it.I usually can't.

I may sound like an insensitive bastard by saying this, but I laugh at most accents that aren't mine (I'm american). My mother tells me not to do that, because anyone with an accent knows a language I don't. which is true, I only speak English. I respect people with accents because they had the guts to learn English, which is incredibly hard to learn because of all its special grammer and pronounciation rules, but I can't help but to giggle at some things they say. I'm trying to learn spanish and maybe German (German sounds so awesome) and I'm sure I'll have people laughing at my accent in those languages. I have an Indian/Pakistani heritage and don't speak any languages from either country, but I love doing the accent for my friends. Indian accents are the best in my opinion, but I may be biased

But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Australian for the win, even though I'm American. Luckily, I'm very good with accents. ::' Maybe I should make a YouTube video that is finally worthy of my... er... something-ness. ::'

Of course everybody knows that Russian is the only not phailing accent.

I like the British accent, but I really like a heavy French accent. When I play with a French or British guy over XBL, I like to just try and keep them talking.

- Wait until about 34 seconds in for him to talk.

Oh, and watching this vid I also remembered I like the heavy country boy accent.

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Russian is one of the languages where you can't help but sound angry. German is obviously the top language for this.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Australian, high-class English, and South African

But my favourite, are by far is New Zealand. It's kinda like soft Australian, but more pronunciation on the vowels, which more roundness, and has a kinda tone of South Africa. Your thoughts?

you can be more than 10000% sure they will :P . so far i've only seen one american talk spanish well in my whole life (maybe due to the fact that i dont see americans very often around here but w.e :? ) he was a U.S ambassador or senator i dont remember.

My math teacher last year had the best accent(s) ever. It was a mix of Chinese/Asian and Bostonian.

I can put on either if I want, being born in Taiwan and living in Massachusetts. My favorite...Probably Asian. Too funny. Even funnier when they talk in some random language and keep saying English swears.

I love the Irish accent. Could listen to an Irishman for hours.
