I've been trying to get back into cosplay recently and thought about doing Ritsu from K-On!, but I'm not sure if that's really my style, you know... I prefer something more dressy and frilly than that. Anyone have any ideas?

Any character from Umineko :P But like Star said, Don't Say Lazy ritsu might be a good idea - I think people WOULD recognise it if they know the show well enough, maybe not just a person who's heard of K-On though.

 

But anyway...

For sure! Every opportunity I have. I'll take some better pictures with it next week, but the 20th there's a small convention in Leeds called Thought Bubble. Manchester's Forbidden Planet has a cosplay competition on the 22nd then there's a Christmas Cosplay Party in December held by Manchester Uni's anime society :D Then I'll be going to as many cons as is possible, next year. Midlands Expo in Feb (I think) for sure and MAYBE London Expo.

Started watching Jojo's Bizarre adventure (already read over 90 volumes of the manga, but the anime is interesting nonetheless), Spice and wolf (not too convinced on this one, but the artstyle is beautiful) and I'm rewatching all seasons of Slayers.

I don't hate Steel Ball Run but the main antagonist, Funny Valentine, has a stand with a name that's just plain...inconceivable.

Just got done watching Ga Rei Zero. It was great and I am glad I randomly chose it.

Claymore 110 and Vinland Saga 69 are out, reading them at the moment, and I think I'm gonna end catching up with Steel Ball Run tomorrow/the day after tomorrow.

I can't find an anime to watch. Or maybe I'm in one of those moods when I don't want to watch anime and nothing looks appealing?

 

I think I'll watch Nodame Cantabelle even though I wanted to read the manga and was waiting to buy it.

The Slayers drags on for quite a while. IIRC, it has about 100 episodes. It's good, but I'd go for Cowboy Bebop.

Both the manga and anime are great, but the anime starts off a little slow and doesn't follow the source material completely.

 

i.e. In the manga Jackal attempted to kill Kenshiro after Kenshiro killed Shin, but in the anime Jackal was enlisted by Shin to kill Kenshiro.

 

But I like the anime anyway because I get to hear Kenshiro say his catchphrase.

The absurdity of it is amazing. Really, it's what happens if you were to ask Studio Gainax to remake The Powerpuff Girls.
