I guess it could be interesting, but honestly, I don't even have the cash to buy a set of paper cups (or the spare time, but that has to do with school and work..)... It might make for a neat trick at parties.. So even if you mess up, most of the people will be too drunk to care. :

 

 

 

Yeah. It is time consuming. The trick at the party is the best part because people will be drunk and even if you go mildly fast, they'd be amazed and wanting you to keep doing it. :

I ordered a set of cups in elementary school. I never really got into it to the point of timing myself, but it was a bit of fun while it lasted.

To contribute, I will say that I have never tried speed stacks, and probably never will buy it because I'm a klutz. Maybe I'll give it a shot though with some plastic cups after I'm done learning how to type

Lol. I am a checker at a grocery store and about 80% of the time, I don't have a bagger, so I bag the groceries and check. I bet me bagging groceries contributed a bit on my instant pickup and speed of stacking. :

I happened to be watching the video with the man stuck in the elevator for 41 hours and how he sleeps and rolls around and stuff.

 

 

 

Would be good practice if you happened to get stuck with the food cart while staying in a Hotel. Bound to be cups and there is food.

Just to remind you guys (who can be actually be bothered to even do a quick analysis on it - research - etc but no you just say eww it sucks before even looking at the cups) it is impossible or VERY, VERY difficult to actually achieve the same results with paper cups. I did it when i was 9, got a timing of like 2 minutes.

 

And no, I am NOT a nerd, perhaps a little weirder than your average kid but not a nerd.

LOL. i used to play those with my baby cousin. i believe there are three ways you can stack them. which goes from 3x2x1 to 4x3x2x1 and you can even make separate stacks.

 

 

 

I think one of the main ways is 3x6x3 per stack. Anyways, I always hated the game since it was introduced back in elementary school :D .

I think a lot of the champions come from the tri-state area (Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa) if I'm not mistaken, because I see at least once a month some new record time from a local kid on the Twin Cities news stations.

Yeah. Paper cups are a lot harder to stack faster with as they are lighter and form static causing them to stick. That's why I don't think I will beat my record any further with paper cups ;)

I totally agree that this 'game' is pointless, and I could rather spend my time excelling at something worthwhile instead of a pointless stacking of cups game. However, if it floats your boat, then fair play and I don't think I'd be able to do it if I tried.
