Speed Stacking for those who don't know

 

 

 

I saw a video on YouTube today of a kid 'Speed Stacking'.

I got interested as it's probably the only thing I could do xD. Anyone else Speed stack or have wanted to try it? I just ordered the kit, but I have been using paper cups in my house.

 

 

 

I just started today, but I can do the cycle in 16 seconds.

I think its stupid, but thats just me.

LOL. i used to play those with my baby cousin. i believe there are three ways you can stack them. which goes from 3x2x1 to 4x3x2x1 and you can even make separate stacks.

Looks hardcore.

I remember looking at this about a year ago. Seems a bit dumb if you ask me, but different people like different things.

I thought it looked dumb, but I decided to try it. It's addicting because you want to beat your old time. My sisters were telling me how dumb it looked, but tried it and we were trying to see how fast we could go.

If it tried it, I would be the only person in my city doing it. I have never heard of it being done here or those cups being sold here either. Guess it is not my countries things.

I never heard of it until I saw the featured video, I don't know anyone else who does it, and I ordered the cups on Ebay. :?

 

 

 

So, I don't see what is holding you back. I just used paper cups. Are you self conscious about what people will think of you?

Ahhh I remember this. People would pay £20+ for a set of "special" cups taht were just non-stick/static cups. I tried it, and it got boring after a few goes tbh.

it's really the saddest thing ever, even playing wow beats it :ohnoes:

If you train hard enough and get yourself a world record, I think it's worth the time.

We have something like this here, it's called Crazy Cups or something, although we do have speed stacks here as well. Was pretty good, had a 3-6-3 6-6 10 stack finished in about 16 seconds.

Why do so many people think speed stacking is dumb? I have utmost respect for any young person (and most of these stackers are under 15) who can stack ad unstack cups in a few seconds. It takes a lot of coordination.

All through elementary school my whole class was forced to stack them. Bad memories :|

soccer and most sports train your muscles

 

even chess trains your brains (you learn to think in other ways)

 

so what does this do?

 

 

 

speed stacking is the mindless stacking of cups, go do a contest on how many times you can touch your 'brows and afterwards touch your toes.. that's is even better

It's hard to have enough coordination for that ;), even harder to do it in a few seconds, just try it.

Touching your "'brows" and touching your toes does NOT do anything to you, except maybe stretch and warm up for a sport (i don't see how though). Speed stacking however, trains your reflexes and your hand-eye coordination, i know, it has happened to me.]

 

If you think this is "easy" then go buy a set (if you can even be bothered -.-) and try it out. I dare you to do it within 15 seconds.

i wouldn't be able to do it, but i mean, all you do is train your coordination for stacking cups, tabletennis works better and has at least a better reputation and is a bit less nerdy (though it is still nerdy)

Calling an activity "nerdy" is completely irrelevant.

 

 

 

I used to play this in school. It was pretty fun. I think I was once pretty good, but man, it's amazing how good some people are at this activity.

It seems silly and trivial. >.< But if its your cup of tea then yay for you. :)

We tried it freshman year for life skills class. It was tough but in my opinion kind of idiotic but that's just me.

I had to do it in fourth grade. [bleep]ing hate cups now.

What a monumental waste of time. I suppose that's the genre nerds are used to I suppose, so whatev I guess.

It's a fun game that requires hand-eye coordination, ambidexterity, and motivation. It's just a fun little thing to try and beat your old score.

 

 

 

Everyone is being so literal and crap. It's not like it's a life skill or an Olympic Sport. It's like any other game that's addicting, skill testing, etc. Don't be so harsh.

Everyone who made a post saying that it is a pointless waste of time: Guess what those posts were? And most of them took longer than 15 seconds to write, just like most posts that are pointless wastes of time... So you waste more time making pointless posts than you would stacking cups. But whatever floats your boat...

 

 

 

 

 

I guess it could be interesting, but honestly, I don't even have the cash to buy a set of paper cups (or the spare time, but that has to do with school and work..)... It might make for a neat trick at parties.. So even if you mess up, most of the people will be too drunk to care. :
