Have you heard the joke about superman, catwoman and the invisible man?

What wouldn't I do if I could be made invisible?

I'm not buying it untill I see it with my own eyes. ... #-o

1. I did but it had Wonder Woman instead. =D> Classic.

2. Heat sensor could still find you. Lots and lots of heat goggles for the ladies.

3. Can't be bought unless you can spend billions for a team of scientists.

My thought was: The Halo series seems odd that they couldn't have invisibility(humans, I know the Elites had them) even though they were at about the year 2500.

I do hope they give that invisible thing maker to me, i could do with a couple of pranks.

bomb squid

PIC NOW.

And somehow I don't think invisible bombs would be any better than visible ones. It's not like you can stop a bomb once it's been dropped. Invisible bombers, that would work, but we already have stealth bombers. The only practical application I can see from this is ninjas. And since no war can be won against ninjas, war will end faster and have fewer casualties, so I don't see what you all are complaining about.

And nomadmike, it's just because the Elites are awesome.

[hide=translation]Invisible bombs, it would make life hell, but thats because I'm heading to the marines, and once I do, I'll quit RuneScape. But that will be awhile, but, imangine an invisible bomb, you walk out the door and hear a click (if anything, bombs are more advanced now, and would be rigged to blow when you open your door), then what you do is see if there is a a rock something that can hold down the weight (hell, once you move your foot even slightly off, it'll more than likely blow when you're trying to put the rock on), or you must call the bomb squad (I'd like to see a squid disarm a bomb btw ), then of course the police like to eat donuts (I'd say this guy needs to be strung up), and they'll take an hour to get there (again, I bring the strung up, bomb threats are taken very seriously). So, you're standing on a bomb for an hour waiting for the police to come. So you end up trying to su the government for not being there when needed (sorry, but what use is the government, and as I said before, bomb threats are always taken seriously) but uoi rnf up losing because the government always wins (I doubt that) then you have to pay the charges for your lawyer, which will cost about 5,000$ (can I get a source on this sum, your arss doesn't count) and you end up in debt and lose your house and you end up living on the streets (haven't people got family that'd take them in?) and one day you happen to see a shooting and you get shot in a misfire. (chances of this happening are?)

And why did you deserve this life you ask yourself (Sorry, I thought we were dead and therefore cannot think)? And the truth is you didn't deserve it and its all because of America. (Jeez pal, its not all American's fault.)

So then after that, everyone around the world realizes America made this, and soon they all start launching Atomic Bombs and using nuclear (I don't know if this is right or not) on America, resulting in a huge explosion which will then destroy the whole planet (sorry, but you'd need a big-[wagon] bomb to do that, I doubt you could fire alot of bombs at a place and end up causing a bigger explosion, its like throwing two grenades, they still have the same area of effect), so if you hear me America (more like see you type dumb-[wagon]), then don't do it, its not worth it save our planet.

But this is my guess on what will happen. (The guess of an idiot doesn't mean much.)[/hide]

I added some comments inside the brackets.

So, if you can see, his arguement/opinion is an extremely stupid hypothetical situation.

Even in full correct grammar and spelling, it would have still been stupid.

dude alot of wat i put was correct grammer then u messed it up.... its sue not su

and wtf is uoi onf

if ur gonna correct meh good english then learn to read!

I was going to post the exact same thing after just glancing at that post. In the end, I decided it wasn't even worth a response.

I attempted to read it, but then my brain died. I think rape would be a huge problem if this was ever released commercially, thats and drugs.

I've herd that the us goverment used this invisabilty tech in WW2. They made a ship invisable and chouldent find it or somthing. But anyways, I think this is cool if we can harness this power for good.

I could go through that post and underline every instance of bad grammar or spelling, but it would be easier to just underline the whole thing...

That thing that you mentioned about the 'invisible ship', if I remember correctly, was supposedly a destroyer or destroyer escort that was outfitted with a high-output powerplant and some sort of field generator that either allowed it to make use of preexisting wormholes, or allowed it to create wormholes that it could use to instantly travel to another location. Theories about what happened to it are varied, but all (that I remember... ) agree that it was in the mid-Atlantic/south-Atlantic in the midst of an American fleet when it activated the generator and disappeared. One story explains that it traveled forward in time and appeared near a naval yard, where it was taken in and the crew were either killed or locked away somewhere. Keep in mind, I'm not actually endorsing any of that information, just putting down what I remember...

There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

Well, that's a risk we have to take in order to learn more about the world around us.

You're probably one of those nutjobs who thinks the Large Hardon Collider is a good idea even though it might, you know, KILL US ALL.

Nope, I was laughing at his scenario.

I don't care if these technologies could screw us all up. You know what? They really could. It's a risk. But I love learning. I love seeing what humanity can do.

I think it's smart to be skeptical. I think it's smart to worry about how this technology could be misused. But I think it's absolutely ridiculous to abandon a new technology because you're afraid of what might go wrong.

Science close to unveiling invisible man

Jonathan Leake, Science Editor

INVISIBILITY devices, long the realm of science fiction and fantasy, have moved closer after scientists engineered a material that can bend visible light around objects.

The breakthrough could lead to systems for rendering anything from people to large objects, such as tanks and ships, invisible to the eye although this is still years off.

Researchers at the University of California at Berkeley, whose work is funded by the American military, have engineered materials that can control lights direction of travel. The worlds two leading scientific journals, Science and Nature, are expected to report the results this week.

It follows earlier work at Imperial College London that achieved similar results with microwaves. Like light, these are a form of electromagnetic radiation but their longer wave-length makes them far easier to manipulate. Achieving the same effect with visible light is a big advance.

Underlying the work is the idea that bending visible light around an object will hide it.

Xiang Zhang, the leader of the researchers, said: In the case of invisibility cloaks or shields, the material would need to curve light waves completely around the object like a river flowing around a rock. An observer looking at the cloaked object would then see light from behind it making it seem to disappear.

Substances capable of achieving such feats are known as meta-materials and have the power to grab electromagnetic radiation and deflect it smoothly. No such material occurs naturally and it is only in the past few years that nano-scale engineering, manipulating matter at the level of atoms and molecules, has advanced sufficiently to give scientists the chance to create them.

The tiny scale at which such researchers must operate is astonishing in itself. Zhangs researchers had to construct a material whose elements were engineered to within about 0.00000066 of a metre.

The military funding that Zhang has won for his research shows what kind of applications it might be used for, ushering in a new age of stealth technology.

I also remember them saying they locate people stepping outside their houses using satellite technology.

So where's Osama then?

Ain't he dead?

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

Never confirmed dead, but it's not his style to cower in a hole after hearing threats.

Anyways invisibility would be awesome, but his is still probably 10 years off.

....OK, you have an active imagination. Wormholes? Come one!

Ships were being detected because they interfered with earth's magnetic field, as they are large blocks of metal. The instruments for detecting ships that way were incredibly crude, at the time. However, they magnetized their ship through electromagnets, and they made sure their it was magnetized with their north going north.

This eliminated any disturbance, and the practice was rather successful, for a time - although I thought it was on a British ship, and it was shot down after it got caught by radar...

OT: They'll never scale it up, and it would be billions if they could. What scared me that's invisible are carbon knives that are thinner then 300nm. As they are smaller then the wavelength of light, they do not created any visible light - but can be strong enough to cut through you neck! So.. be scared. Very scared.

That's what it takes to be a hero, a little gem

of innocence inside of you that makes you want

to believe that there still exists a right and wrong,

that decency will somehow triumph in the end.

No no :shame:

I believe he is talking about another ship. The ship tried some sort of cloaking, and (I don't know the details here) it somehow dissapeared. To the best of my knowledge there are several theories on it, one of which is the wormhole one.

Thomas, could you explain in PM what the "Wormhole" Theory is.

My Personal Opinion on this is that it will be used for good and bad around the world if it comes to the public even if it gets buried underground my goverments ect. people will find out about this as infomation has often leaked, there will be allways good and bad things to this.. just like anything else..

Bad Spelling in there i think so im sorry.

my opinion is that there is no good or bad it's just wat side ur on cuz if to countrys are at war ur country would be good and the other would be bad but if u were in the other country then that one would be good instead of bad
