What do you do on airplane trips?

Featured Replies

watch stuff on my laptop, listen to music, rarely play any games on my laptop, or watch movies on the plane (air canada and westjet have good ones).

I usually end up listening to my iPod, or playing my Nintendo DS. I know, they are lame, but they do help during flights. I used to read on flights buy I found it too distracting when I can watch the in-flight entertainment system ;)

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

I was recently on a 10 hour trip, and I read books and played about 6 hard games of Sudoku on my board. It's even better if you manage to talk to the person next to you.

It is virtually impossible to get to sleep on the seats, but you can try.

Reading through these, I'm really jealous of you people. Private planes, using your own laptops, and first class...

Never done any of that, with the exception of one short flight when I was 6 when we were bumped into a first class seat due to free space.

12 hour flight from Los Angeles to Paris in coach class, sitting in the same place for 11 of those hours=FTL.

Usually speak to the people sat next to me and then watch movies. If the flight's short enough sometimes they don't supply movies so I read the newspaper if they're available.

You tend to meet a LOT of people going on bussiness in flights so you learn some cool things from each of them.

I'm planning a trip down to Cancun with some friends for spring break. Plane ride is going to be boring but I'll probably end up doing the same stuff I usually do on planes:

-Listen to music

-Talk to my friends/people around me

-Sleep

-See if I can't pull a McGyver with the things I find in the seat pocket/laying around (planes aren't the cleanest places so there's usually a fair amount of junk)

Going on an 8-hour flight on th 22nd. Gonna be alone :? I hope I don't fall asleep on the poor soul next to me. That's probably the only thing I do on a flight, sleep. That way I rarely get jet-lagged

Strangely enough, i was on an airplane yesterday.

I slept a little bit, watched the movie (Be Kind Rewind) ate because i was intensely hungry, watched Anchorman on my PSP, and played on my DS.

And even still i was bored crapless. Who knows what i would do on long haul flights, if they didnt have alot of decent movies :P

on international flights you get time to watch many movies. And I of course watch movies on international flights 8-) . It's a good time to see what you missed

on some airlines they allow u to bring laptops. so usually i bring mine with me and buy a game with a good campaign(lord of the rings battle for middle earth 1&2,empire earth) or a flight simulator game.

ty to swaggeh for sig!

On newer airplanes, if it's a long international flight, often you will have a personal TV screen, where you can select your own movies. And not just in first class :P

I usually end up sleeping, even if it's day. I used to get nauseated on planes, so I started taking Dramamine for them, which has a pretty strong drowsy side effect. I discovered that I don't really feel sick anymore, but I still usually take one.

If you can't sleep, things like sudoku, or logic puzzles are good for passing the time. I have an eight hour flight to America at 5 am tomorrow in fact. I should be able to sleep anyway on that, because I'll have to get up at the latest at 3 am to get to it.

You know what's annoying? 15+ hour flights to China. I travel a lot, and I've gotten used to boredom from flights. Here is what I do:

-Read Books

-Listen to an iPod/Mp3 Player

-Bring a Gameboy or PSP

-Bring paper and a pen to draw stuff

I once took a plane trip to South Korea. It took like 22 hours.

-I stared at some babies that were crying.

-Watched X-men 1.

-Kick people's chairs. Just kidding.

-Sleep

-Read

-Look for shapes in the aisle floor.

-Eat food

-Listen to music.

-Play a portable game console.

-Drool out of boredom.

WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME

#1 Wongtong stalker.

Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!

-Sleep

-Watch the crappy inflight movie on the tiny screen in the back of the seat. Five times in a row.

-Shout semicoherent remarks about the gremlins that are destroying the engines.

-Wonder how high the pilots are when we go through extended periods of 'turbulence'.

-Sleep some more. Joy.

There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

You should fly the same flight you're on. Just, you know, for fun.

Been there, done that. You just can't fly the first part and the last part 'cause they make you turn off the electronics. :(

Because I'm Alaskan, and after I've safely been through some of the most hellish weather many times on their planes... the trust builds to a large point. I also find it amazing that after so many years of flying up here in the bad and often unpredictable weather, they've only had one fatal crash.

My mom works for United so one time they were flying some airplane that they had just redone through SFO. I flew on it just for the flight and may I say if you are ever going to Frankfurt(I think that's where it goes) be sure to take business class. It had a plasma screen for every seat. I had my own remote control to pick from a list of all kinds of movies, t.v. shows, games(mostly lame games like insaniquarium but it was awesome.

My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet.
