jjrox32
Sleep, read, play on my DS or laptop, watch in-flight movies. Those things will generally cover even the longest of flights.
Kaphias
I just got back from a trip- about 7 hours of plane rides each way. I slept a bit, played around on my laptop, listened to music, and read. Erk02
I glare at my "dinner" that they gave me.    Anyways, I recommend buying a book or something in an airport book store directly prior to boarding the plane. I did this on my way back from Japan, but with 3 mangas. Lasted me at least half of the 8 hour flight.    By the way- If you don't want food poisoning, take your own meals.   You can't do that anymore because the terrorists supposedly ruined it for us by mixing different chemicals together during the flight and made a bomb...   Darn terrorists! They're EVERYWHEEEREE! Especially the Muslimbs! [/hillbilly accent] You can take foods onboard. I think the ban only covers liquids. I do English to Japanese and Japanese to English translation for free! Just keep it under 5 sentences, and PM me to use my fluency in Japanese to your advantage! Zierro
Never been on a plane before but I've had many loooong car trips in my life. I'm talking good 8-24 hour trips here. :ohnoes:    Puzzle books work wonders and really make the time fly. But after about two hours, they'll get dull. Still, bring a few though. Music is a must. So is a good read, whether it be a magazine, book, whatever... Last but not least, don't forget a nice addicting video game.   Of course if you had a portable DVD player and a good collection of movies, all your troubles would be over. :D
Lateralus
If I've got a good book I can last a good while on a plane. I would not advise buying a book at the airport. Airport book stores are filled with unbelievable trash. I believe 'airport fiction' has even become a genre. La lune ne garde aucune rancune. tripsis
Well it seems like you've ruled out everything that I do :P   I typically stay up as late as possible the night before so I can easily sleep on the plane ride. I'm usually in first class where the seats are more comfortable, but I have been in coach before and agree that it can be difficult or even impossible to sleep in those!! I usually bring a portable DVD player to watch my choice of movies. In addition, I usually bring 3-5 books on every vacation I go on (I read a lot.. and quickly :geek: ), so I can typically read for 3+ hours nonstop.   Other than those few things, I don't really PLAN to do certain things on airplanes.. I just kind of let things happen the way they do. Sometimes I end up giving my sisters art lessons, other times we talk or joke around, etc.   But on most of the really long flights I've been on (over 10 hours), I sleep like 75%+ of the time.  - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

ThruItAll
Take a book. Last year I finished all of my summer reading on the plane trips for vacation. And then left The Red Badge of Courage on the plane. Good riddance, I say.   Wish I had known I had reading to do this year back when I took a 30-hour round-trip car ride. Instead I read WoT and played Pokemon    Pokémon is the shiz. I just play pokémon. danke Schon Sam!^^"Blood runs thicker, oh were thick as thieves you know"-Carl Barât
Jernlov
Cower in fear.   My fear of flying is so great that it has to be seen to be believed.   I don't think I could get on a plane even if I wanted to. Steam | Soup | Last.fm
nickeley102
just mix it up, read a book, listen to some music, watch some fotc episodes and maybe a movie. I like to create a playlist on the music machine and play games on the screen, making a playlist lasts about an hour for me.   I flew in to NY from NZ recently and my gf told me heaps before the flight that she was going to have to sneak in some mcdonalds because she cant eat airplane food, i told her repeatedly that she is studying to be a scientist so she should know that her studies sample size was inadequate to draw any conclusions. i talked her round and she ate the food and spent 3 hours throwing up while i held the bag, sux to be a know it all
ThurinEthir
 You can take foods onboard. I think the ban only covers liquids. I'm pretty sure you can't bring meat. I let my mom do the packing though, so I don't know. But you can always buy food in the terminal, I usually get something from BK before going on. I have no idea why I'm still afraid of flying even though I fly so much (Or at least I used to), and for so long. Guess it's because I think the more likely you fly, the higher chance of a crash or something. I feel so much better now... I can't read on cars, I get headaches. Don't know how you guys manage it...I also have a bit of trouble falling asleep on cars and airplanes, I must be really tired or else I'll just sit there with my eyes closed, waiting to sleep. And Tripsis, I once was on a plane that had two floors, but no bars or anything. A huge plane nonetheless. Eva Air is FTW by the way, much better than any of the American ones. And yes, Virgin Airlines is very high quality. (Owned by Richard Branson, the 236th richest person in the world.) But I still like Alaska Air. Wouldn't trust anyone else to take me home. :D 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009

ForsakenMage
Back when I used to fly between Northern and Southern California several times a year (lots of one-hour flights... bleh), I'd always have my laptop with me and several magazines in back pocket of the laptop case. If I got bored of using the laptop, I'd just shut it down and then pull out my magazines (mostly just issues of "Business Week" and "The Economist," with the occasional "Living with Martha Stewart" because I get that bored lol). Adventurer's Log || YouTube || Facebook || Tip.it Times Work || Wanna Join the Editorial Panel?Maxed Out 01 October 2012 PDT

If I ever saw someone get caught doing it in a airplane toilet and being removed from the toilet I'd give them a standing ovation    I'll usually go out all-night or stay up the whole night before a flight if it's long haul so I sleep on the Plane comfortably. I claustrophobic so sitting in a 8 meter wide tube is really irritating / scary, it gets worse for me when the jerk in front tilts his chair back and some jerk behind me spends half the flight kicking my chair

Abelmisi
- Watch some in-plane movies. (yay huh?) - Dare myself to press the stewardess caller button, then when I press it I quickly cancel the thing and look around hoping that nobody saw what I did. It makes an odd sound, try it out sometime. - Play my DS. - Listen to mp3's. - Watch some movies on my iPod. - Browse the SkyShopping magazine (never gets old) - Read. - ZzzZZzzZZZZzzzzZ

sohkmj1
I actually did have a fixed schedule when i last went onto the plane and back.  (8 hour flight.) 1. Make self comfortable. (get window seats  ) 2. Watch the movies. (1-3) 3. Play a certain game with small black and red coins on the screen with a cousin, or sibling and play until they lose, or let you win.  4. Eat. I have no idea what. 5. Try and sleep until the pilot has an announcement, 6. then read the on flight magazines.
loi86
Read the safety magazines, draw, talk, and sleep...but sleeping at 1PM is hard, but you could stay up all night and just sleep on the flight.
