Troacctid
The cost of repairing barrows is so miniscule, especially without the helmet and weapon, that you shouldn't be using dragon skirts or granite bodies. It's like 150k every 15 hours at the most (only 10k gp/hr), and all you need to do is switch your Ardougne teleport to house teleport + Ardougne portal when you need to repair. You don't even need to bank for cash because of the alchable drops you get. I mean it's not as if you're likely to need all the extra defence much, since they have a max of 5, but especially if you're already bringing full Guth...the plate and skirt are easily better than a granite plate and a d skirt. Repairs are really a non-issue, tbh. just alch the rune javs -.- you could, but it wouldn't give you as much profit as the steel legs/plate Keep 'em to alch later. They're stackable. That's a good deal in any of those cases and not something I'd want to pass up. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP

My_Eggs
Good guide, just a thought though, do the salve ammy(e) and void melee set bonuses stack? If they do, then I suggest taking both with you, because when I took my full void melee with me, I didn't take to much damage, and I'm only 83 defence. 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving. Dairith
Void and Salve ammy do stack, as does void and a black mask; you also definitely want to keep those rune javelins for junk trading \

Troacctid
Actually I went there for a couple hours and didn't even end up getting any rune javelins in the first place. If I'd go I'd take: Rune/dragon legs/skirt Fighter torso Rune defender etc... More than enough, you dont need dharok plates and stuff like that. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! Because d legs are more expensive than barrows legs, of course. Anyway, when I went there, I liked Guthan's a lot better than my bunyip. I found that the bunyip was frequently overhealing me. I much preferred being unconstrained by a timer--Guthan's allowed me to camp there for longer without using as much inventory space as I needed to carry those bunyip pouches. So I saw no reason not to just keep my Guthan's on for the leg and torso slots. (Even the helm I considered just keeping on, since the off-white of the neitiznot helm clashes horribly with the rest of the outfit.) grumpysmurf
Thanks to the newly implemented summer's end quest. The warriors now have a low chance to drop a spirit shield which atm sells for 407k max in ge I believe. Don't know the exact drop rate. I have only made 3 trips. Each lasting about 2 hours on swordies, and I got it on my 2nd trip. Anyway, great guide. Thnx for the info.

llamster
Why do you recommend a DFS and obby shield over rune defender? Surely they don't hit that hard. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
