Rare Item Lending

I'd like to know how everyone personally feels. I don't want something someone else said, unless they asked you to say it, and it comes with your own opinion. But anyways. How do you feel about this?

 

 

 

In my opinion, there is no point in lending rares. In today's Runescape society, the point of rares, is either to show hard work and dedication, or to show off your veteran status, which I doubt anyone with a rare, excluding a couple, have had the same rare for years to come. But back on topic. When people borrow rares, it's emanating a false statement to everyone: I have a rare, bow down to me. Then they get immense attention, because they are a magical level 3 with a partyhat. No, it's a lie created by him and a friend or someone willing to lend a partyhat for free, to try to trick people into thinking they are a rich skiller.

 

 

 

Conclusion: Rare shouldn't be lendable. It benefits the borrower, none, and just is a waste of time.

I don't see anything wrong with it, it doesn't hurt anybody.

 

 

 

The only annoying thing is whenever I wear my santa I get asked once every few minutes to lend it for 3k :wall:

Im not against it at all... I mean, no one NEEDS to lend anything, so everything could be classed as needless.

I think it is a good idea, if the lender does junk trading he can lend it out for a decent amount of cash when he goes to bed. The other person gets to wear a rare for 10 hours or so, something they might not be able to do otherwise.

Its called a bit of fun. And also drag meds once used to be rare like 10mil + or soemthing.

I would support lendable rares if they changed the item lending system so that it's less anonymous, like make it between friends only or something. Otherwise no, because I truly hate being asked to lend out my partyhat all the time... I've stopped wearing it :wall:

 

 

 

Edit: Sure, people can add each other to be able to lend/borrow, but it would make item lending (not to mention begging to lend something) a lot less common and less anonymous.

apart from rares being pretty useless, the fact that you originally made about lvl 3s with phats, is not always false. recently my brother met a level 69 who had a yellow phat which the 69 was selling, my brother did not believe this so he went into a trade with the level 69 and surprisingly it actually was his.

the borrowers get a lot of respect for something that doesnt belong to them, so i feel that rare item lending should not be allowed

Ireally do not have a problem with the lending of rares.

 

Personally I tend to lend one of my Santas out in World 16 as much as I can on the off chance that the borrower will use me as a 9 x assister.

 

Overall having any rare is not worth worrying about as more often than not it only shows how long the person has been playing rather than how clever the player has been at accumulating wealth. I get the distinct impression that JAGeX hate rares due to the inbalances they give to certain players as well as the RWT opportunities they give. ( They are certaintly in no rush to "fix" prices).

 

So lend them out and give other players the pleasure of using/wearing.

If a lot of people starts lending out their partyhats it might come to a point where a partyhat on your head would mean nothing at all. This could bring the partyhats back to their original use \

 

 

 

With the current situation.. No. Lending a partyhat is pretty much the same as lending your skillcape tbh :roll:

 

I saw one guy who borrowed a red partyhat.. Omg, i was shocked. He was walking around ge, following everyone who was wearing expensive gear/santas, calling them noobs and yelling that he was richer :wall:

Sure its kind of annoying that Everyone asks me to lend them my dragon axe while im USING IT!!!!!! but it doesnt hurt anyone and its the closest thing to merching we have if You lend it for money.

I don't see why it should be allowed. It gives the person the rare for up to 1 day, and during that time, it's easy to tell who the loaners are.

Alot of people say that if you get lent a Phat, you appear all "cool" and such. Then the owner is all poor and such.

I dont mind it at all. I wear my rare during the day, loan it out for money during the night when I don't play. If people are stupid enough to pay me 50k for my santa for 20 hours, why should I mind?

 

 

 

Worse is people borrowing extremely good items....but even then. The person paid for it. They should be allowed to make money off of it

Just let people decide for themselves if they want to lend out a rare, or borrow a rare or not. It's not that complicated.

I agree, but I never had any respect for all of the expensive useless things anyways. I'd mych rather have one of each godsword(2 so far) than have some usless hat to show off wealth...anyways, I can't denounce the lending system in good consience while I'm actively exploiting it...so let the kiddies enjoy their false status symbols.

In my point of view, rares were one of the items that caused the rwt, and in the Jagex way to eliminate this trading, they decided to make it priceless, if everyone can have it lending it or not the price will go down, because it just doesnt mean the same thing than before.
