I am posting this from my Dad's computer.

This freaking sucks. For reasons none of us can figure out, this computer still has internet, but my computer, directly connected by a cable, only a few feet away in the next room, doesn't. It just spontaneously cut out.

And it gets worse. Since my 360 gets it's connection from my computer, I don't haxe Xbox Live either.

This officially means I have nothing to do.

Now for the discussion value of the rant.

Have you ever had your internet down?

For how long?

What did you do in this time?

How did it affect you?

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

I have a solution. Play outside or something with friends. Internet is not all there is to the world. Go watch a movie or something.

Or get a gf. There, all of your free time is now being used up. ::'

When my internet doesn't work, I make it work.

If you lived in my area you would no that there is NOTHING to do. I only have 2 friends that are not on Vacation, and the only outdoor thing I have is a basketball and a hoop. Trouble is, 3 people isn't enough for a good game.

There is always something to do outside or with a girlfriend as deloria said.

I had a piece of grass on my shoe, and she wiped that off. Yeah. Impressive, eh? That's probably the closest I've ever been to having sex. :P

This is when my internet was truly dead just when school ended near christmas 2ish years ago:

Have you ever had your internet down? yes

For how long? 1 week

What did you do in this time? watch tv/ go outside/ read

What did you do in this time? [bleep] all

How did it affect you? No different to usual, just without IRC/downloads/forums

In this case I'd go to the closest cinema and watch every single movie until my internet is back.

Why get a girlfriend, when you can hire hookers for less money?

Or...did it occur to you to attempt to fix the cable? or replace the cable?

Real Life? :-k

My internet rarely goes down, but when it does I feel a shell of my former self.

The amount of fail on this thread is killing me -.-

Check your router. My internet goes down regularly and I just unplug the router, let it cool off, then replug it and it works. Once my internet was down for a week, we couldn't find out why. The repair guy came and found out a squirrel had eaten through a wire and everyone with internet on my block lost connection. Wonder what happened to the squirrel :-k

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

The real life jokes died with the first one, even the mods got in on the lameness.

Have you ever had your internet down? Sort of yeah, my PC blew up about a year ago.

For how long? Took about three months to fix it.

What did you do in this time? What I normally did, but I watched more TV and played more Gamecube then I think.

How did it affect you? I didn't get to play Rs or go on MSN in ages, which was a bit annoying but I survived.

Check cable connections and/or reset everything. (if your router connects to something else, that is)

Oh no, you cant listen to 13 year olds whine about you being a n00b. It pains me to hear that.

What? You just said you had a 360. Play that on like, I dunno, single player? Get some friends round and have a local multiplayer? Play an offline game on your PC? The list is endless even before you put into factors of going outside.

Yes, 3~4 months.

Played offline games on my computer, PS2, PSX and went round a friends house occasionally.

Little to none? My PSP/PDA [but not my PC, oddly] can pick up next doors wireless router, so I can hijack that should I want to.

Honestly, I was in my teens before my family even considered getting an internet connection, they arent life support systems.

knkcopy.jpg

I was without the internet... a while ago for about 2 weeks. All I did was listen to music in that time. That could be why I have so much Slayer on my last.fm...

My Last.Fm

LeekSpinner!!!

Random Furry Dance!!!

Proud to hate life, since not too long ago!!!

Yeah I think I was probably 10 until I got internet, and really was 13 until I could start using it a lot.

These days though I do notice a lot more of my stuff has been dependent on the internet. What can I say? It's spoiled us.

Being a typical '90s kid, I can't remember a time without the intrawebz.

I think that would realistically apply to a 00's kid.

I didn't have a computer until I was like 14, and that was a family one.

I guess I'm a late '90s kid, because I remember the internet from when I was ~4-5. Netscape. (Hahahah I just realized the last time I actually used IE as my default browser was when I was 4. )

My family is pretty high-tech though, maybe I'm just special. :?

Anyway, when I was in Taiwan, the wireless connection was terrible. My uncle's router was basically dead, and my sister used the wire most of the time. So I was stuck without internet. I had brought Civ4 with me though, I played a bunch of that.

And sometime last year, there were some internet issues here, we had dial-up on one of our computers though. I had enough schoolwork to keep my somewhat busy, and I played around with Photoshop in my spare time.
