Hey 'Scapers.

 

To start off with I haven't really been on Runescape much lately and it is getting a bit hard for me to get on and play...but...

 

 

 

Are you being a Tipiter?

 

You know like back in the good old days when everyone would just hang around in Edgeville and socialise with other Tipiters - do we still do that today?

 

It seems that Runescape is turning into a big skillfest, with everyone training for hours on end to be the best. Do you ever just stop training and go around Runescape saying "HYT!" and meeting with your fellow Tipiters? We skill hard, then we party hard. :).

 

 

 

I would love to see a sense of community brought back into Tipit, it seems as though it is getting a little dull here.

 

So go out and meet some people! Head to Edgeville or even Castle Wars on world 99 or world 7 for F2Pers and meet up with some Tipiters. Have a blast and meet some new friends! :)

As a new Tipiter, I don't have the opportunity to mix with other Tipiters I suppose. I hope to get the opportunity in the future though.

Runescape is nothing like it once was. A lot of people probably agree with me when I say we're tired of listening to people acting like their 6. The constant mud kips and such really gets annoying tbh. Sometimes a bunch of my friends and I sometimes avoid w99 just because of it. :|

I hardly see any Tip.Iters when I play RuneScape, unfortunately. It is no where near as strong a thing in F2P, as it is in Members.

It's rare nowadays... Sometimes I try shouting out "Hyt!" in an area with a lot of players, but most of the time people just answer with "What did you call me?" :wall:

 

Of course sometimes I get a "Hyt!" when I least expect it, I once logged in on a noob account of mine in a random F2P world, and I use the Forsakenmage cc when on that account, and someone recognized me from the cc and gave me a "Hyt!" :D

Tip it should publicize its events more often

 

Also, host few, big events rather than a lot of small weekly events

Whenever I don't have anything on my plans to do, i'll happily hang around edgeville bank.

 

Although I wasn't an avid fan of the "HYT" system, I give my own types of "greetings" based on the context.

 

With a lack of idle-position time in RS now, as alching is only profitable in some circumstances (and so is for other things) people won't hang around EB for extended periods. I think since there's now a lot more things to do, people are doing them (GWD for money influx, or misc skills for reasonings)

 

With the fact that there was a good tipit clan chat system, that killed the w99EB in terms of socialising, since now you can take the socialising with you.

I don't hang around edgeville most of the time, and the places I go are just too scary for any tip.iter to go. I don't even know why I go. :ohnoes:

i actually find the "hyt" thing quite annoying unless i'm in a weird mood. i usually just reply with hi, or hey, or something. i don't know why it annoys me, although i am always surprised when i'm recognized. i hang out in edge when i get bored quite often, or if i see someone i'm good friends with i'll pal around with them for a bit.

Eh, ive been hanging around in BSC a lot and its not just other people who are immature. Im semi-new to p2p and whenever i ask a serious question i get like "OVER 9000@@" or something like that. But whenever i alch i always go to W99 edge, and i generally see some people hanging out there.

I give HYT normally to people who I know are from Tip.it, but I'm generally running around all over the place, doing things on my own.

Clan Chat killed W99 Edgeville. As previously said, you can take socializing with you wherever you go. It used to be that you take time out of whatever you were doing to socialize with your fellow Tip.iters. Now you can do it in clan chats. That is why I am rarely in a clan chat, because I really hate what it has done to the community in the sense of what things used to be. Call me nostaligic, call me stupid, call me a god-send, I don't care. I'll play how I want to, and that would be not using it.

 

 

 

I do say HYT sometimes in reply whenever someone sends me one, but somehow that gradually fell out of the norm because of the excess amount of use it had. It lost its power in the those three words, or maybe the community has been slowly falling apart. Who knows, but something made it to what it is now...

I've heard, on these forums, that saying HYT is something that you can get a blackmark for- like telling someone about a website that is not Jagex owned. Someone said they asked a mod friend about it so ya. You might want to take this with a grain of salt, though.

I think we do, a lot of tiffers, hang around in forsakenmage's chat (myself included) and a lot just hang in edgeville, only yesterday i saw a group of tiffers just following each other running around the tree north of the bank, so yes, i think it is. Also I always HYT a tiffer when I see them and hang on world 99 as my main world.

Really? Then the official policy isn't very well kept. I've heard tales of people getting blackmarked for saying youtube or even google.

The old ways of veterans hanging out in Edgeville world 99 have long been over.

 

 

 

I won't go into detail, but there has to be a strong sense of community in a game before a subcommunity (as the Tip.It community is) can develop properly in the game. RuneScape used to have that strong community, like four years ago. It doesn't now. It's full of whiney teenagers who use the anonymity of the Internet to abuse people. It's full of spammers, arrogant and obnoxious people. It's full of scammers, and people who generally attempt to cheat their way through.

 

 

 

And what's more, the game is run by a company that refuses to recognise any of those problems in its community.
