I'm underage, started playing when I was 9. When I tell people my age, they're surprised. They even ask me why I type literate, the ones that are like 18 or 20. Kinda funny, really. They say I act really mature for my age. :o Always typed as literate as I could, and always been mature. Ftw.

I kid you not, in the IB program, i read (we do peer to peer editing) a paper that was written in internet speech. I hoped he changed it, because meh teacher would've been so mad. (it was actually a pretty good essay too  ). So yah, don't fall for the tempation.

wow, i really think jagex has gone overboard with the advertising....well this will give them more popularity

Considering other MMORPG, Runescape is kinda low on Advertising >.>

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

heh, flamehawk, i've been playing since I was nine as well, 7 whole years i've been wasting my life on this game :o Back then there really was not large community, and the three people on my friends list aalways helped me with quests, and aided me with skills, and I thimk that is what is lacking in the game 'these days'. Part of the problem is the higher levels, who a new player may associate to an older player, this 9 year old is playing on a level 75, and a 13 year old asks him for help, most of the time, and truly, most of the time, the higher level will brush him off and walk away, probably using the term "noob", and making the new player, who is probably more mature, either quit because of the craptastic community, or just become one of them, if the person is truly 'mature' he will read guides, and figure it out, without the help of the higher levels, and what's great about tipit (and all fansites) is that levels don't matter, it's how mature you are, how well your typing is, how you can reply and creat topics. what's disapointing is that some people atribute low post count to 'noob'. so people, don't do that... and i'm drifting really off topic here, just saying that age dosn't matter, maturity does, 'noob' is not a level, it's an attitude, help others, and help yourself, don't be insulting, be respectful, even to the level 6 who asks you to show you were taverly is, don't brush him off with the typical 'noob' comment, you can disrupt your fletching or alching for a few minutes to help someone out, and who knows, maybe YOU will need help from someone with a quest someday, you don't wanna be brushed off, you would like that guidance. so come on people, be respectful to EVERYONE, regardless of age or level, even if you choose not to go to a far extent to help someone, even a few words can help.

That being said...your a [bleep]ing [bleep] douchebag, and none of your advice will ever (or should ever) be taken seriously because of it.

disregard good advice because the giver is a douche

THAT MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON

Whatever.

The community is fine in my opinion. It matches the real life one. You have the immature ones, the stuck up ones, the nice ones and the fun ones.

If you want a better community for yourself, surround yourself with the kinds of people that you want to be around and if a person you don't like happens upon you, treat them kindly.

And if you don't treat the people you don't like kindly then YOUR the reason the community is bad NOT ADVERTISEMENTS.

Leetspeak is annoying, but not as much as bad grammar and spelling. Given I can barely understand it even if I try, I can safely ignore it. But when people type like Trolls, as in monsters not posters, I can barely stop myself from giving a scathing lecture as to why good grammar and spelling is important. Example: "Wat dat ting? Can I by id from you? Pleaze?"
If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

I don`t care if there`s a very discreet mistake, like

The two brothers looked at each other while their three cousins looked at one another.

most people don`t know which is proper, but horrible gramemr bugs me.

They'll take the game to more members, more money, more staff, more updates, better RuneScape gameplay...

Now about the change to the community...... :|

Yes, I can agree with that. The community have got worse since Jagex started doing this kind of stuff, but sure we have got a lot of good stuff from it too. For example all the new updates :)

Jagex, as a business will naturally try to expand in any way they see fit. It's not for us to test their judgement and complain.

I know we are the customer (who is always right ;)) But not in this case. Sure the audiences of Miniclip/Addicting games is lower than usual, but lets not forget that age doesn't always matter.

The majority of RS players have been playing for some time now, and the type who you and I are afraid will take over the game, are less likely to stick at it. I don't think we have anything to worry about.

I've personally seen a decrease in "noobs" over the last year, simply because of the less-appealing game type due to the removal of wilderness and daring PvP.

Many of the egotistical players who spammed our chats, stole our money and ruined our game are gone.

Instead of complaining, embrace the newcomers and help make the game even better. :D

This is old news..

Thank's for letting us know, does this mean we can't discuss things that happened in the past? Buh bye runescape class I guess.

OT:Yeah, I don't see much good coming out of this, the influx of younger players will be of general harm to the runescape community.

Hey, I was waaaaaaaay underage when I first joined in 2001, age 5. I quit in 2003. Now I'm back since '06 or '05.

People always "lol" when they learn I'm twelve.

lmao sure you were.

On topic it wont make much difference, the community is terrible as it is compared to what it used to be. i doubt this is going to make a noticable difference.

I just hope with all these new players that jagex won't start catering for them 90% of the year. I think the best year of RS was the one where they brought out the dragonfire shield, dragon full helm, GWD, dragon boots and probably many other things I can't think of right now that kept many players busy with massive money making opportunities.

I hope they don't revert back to nub quests and half baked minigames that you do once for the rewards and never play again :? but BTS October looks like they won't \' only time will tell I guess =P~
