shivers21
Years ago, RS first started advertising on the popular gamse sites for younger children (as younger I mean games targeted at a younger audience, as opposed to other popular sites) I was watching my sister play computer for a while, and she went on the site 'addictinggames' and I notised ads for runescape (and arcansist), also on the site 'shockwave' and there's ads there too. where do you think these ads will take the game? {DeviantART}{Last.Fm}{Join Sublime GFX, great community for artists!}Back to RuneScape, Again.Avatar by Brian The Great

Now about the change to the community...... :| not true. if they put it on sites for younger people, younger people will join. If some site could post the number of players on worlds 161 at noon each day for a month, I'd show the graph. trendy, eh?? why more members? their parents know not to waste five bucks a month for their kid's fun while they know they should waste them on unnecesary amounts of stupid toys? oh, yeah, the change to the community will be realy stupid. :ohnoes: :ohnoes: lets think ahead and plan a funeral for runescape in 2010. :boohoo: :wall: Death should not be taken as 'the end,' but a very effective way to cut down taxes. jirenma2001us
I actually saw an ad for runescape on the Java website back in 2004. I think it was around the time I heard of Open Office. This was before miniclip. It was a good idea- get people who love computers interested in a good game. Back then, I think Runescape consisted of mostly high school and college aged students. Miniclip changed a lot but overall I think us older folk are more strategic (if you are young and feel that you are strategic, then bravo). The game has largely gone from strategic to power hitting / best weapon. Now that we have spirit shields, no longer will the 2 hander be so valuable. Den
I've met people who found runescape through miniclip and other flash game sites. Not all people are the "Omgz, u giv me fr33 stuf plz?" type. Some younger players ive met even write better english then lots of people. Yes, there probably does come alot of the bad type from those sites, but not everyone that comes are bad! : About the community... it probably wont get better. :P ........::::: Rainy's YouTube Channel - Rainy's Twitter - Rainy's Facebook - Rainy's DeviantArt - Rainy's Tumblr - Rainy's Tip.It Profile :::::......... BloodArgon
More ads = more money More money = better game/updates. Not that hard to figure out. One time i went to miniclip to play runescape, years ago my computer crashed and completely broke, could not turn on several months later my dad bought a new one. i've never been to miniclip since Either your lying or, your just computer illiterate. Websites dont cause computers to crash and not turn on, unless its ancient and the hard drive is too small to load images, then, you deserve a broken computer (a rock). 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th

spooferfish
It will make people on this forum, and ones like it whine about 'miniclippers' and whatever other dumb names they feel they need to give them. Nenga
I've seen funorb (mainly arcanists) adds on game sites as well, but not runescape. This will make the player count rise but i'ma have to start turning my pub chat on friends only. Really its jagex's game to do this with. (though when making an mmog you make it for the people.) shivers21
I agree with every one that posted more then 1 line.. seriously.. if all you have to say is 4 words.. go back to club-penguin ;o yes, more money = more updates, but i'm talking about the community, will it get better, i think not, the updates will become oriented at the age group that is subscribing, making minigames like vinesweeper and pest contoll, vinesweeper, compleatly ruining the point of farming. in a few months, i'm sure, there will be more people [bleep]ing and complaining about how long summoning is, how expencive it is, and thee will be.. what's that? another minigame! i'm starting to rant a little here, so i'll get back ontopic, i think if the community get's younger, so will the game, and that will lead to it's downfall, in my opinion, and I know, not everyone that found it from miniclip etc is like that, and there are some very nice and respectful players that have found it from miniclip and are under 13, they respect the game, it's players, and the skills and how there are meant to be trained. and if anyone read this far, then congrats ;o {DeviantART}{Last.Fm}{Join Sublime GFX, great community for artists!}Back to RuneScape, Again.Avatar by Brian The Great

sohkmj1
NO, NO, STOP JAGEX! STOP TRYING TO MAKE MONEY! Tell me, have you ever met a corporation whose intent is not making money? But on topic. Look at it this way. Most noobs will probably pick the under this age on the sign up applet, unless their friends joined before that. Next, assuming some noobs manage to be out of the noob filter, we still have the ignore list. Ignore list full? Delete the top few, then just add him. I don't think that there is any problem. :
