Having the biggest wallet does not make you cool, let's keep it that way.

No part of the game should reflect your wealth in real life. Members is five dollars and is understandable, but if people started having 100-dollar hats or weapons, and belittle the people in lower income families.

 

 

 

Runescape is about anonymity and the ability for anyone to be rich and succeed. This would totally ruin that in my opinion.

lol the author only has 1 support and "0" non support. obviously realized that no one would support, doesnt even bother putting the count for nons.

 

 

 

i personally wouldnt want this. i dont want anyone having an advantage (in terms of looks) just cuz they have extra monies. thats just lame. play the game, and b happy with it.

If they had 2x exp like in maplestory.......well byebye runescape as we know.

Jagex would lose more money than they made. Too many people, including myself, would quit if this actually happened. People like the idea that everyone has an equal opportunity at becoming rich. If people start buying it then why play the game? Oh lookie me I just payed $20 and beat the game woohoo :roll:

Membership doesnt actually hand you anything, it opens up more of the game. This cash system would hand you things, which isnt what jagex wants.

 

 

 

And if you had to pay to access areas, or new weapons, and still had to work for them, thats pretty much membership already, so, this wont ever happen based on what Jagex has said.

Again, for those of you who didnt READ THE FIRST POST the idea has nothing, NOTHING to do with BUYING GOLD, and NOTHING to do with buy items like a godsword or 3rd age.

 

 

 

The shop would allow people to pay a little extra to help fund the game (which is only good for everyone who likes updates) and would let you look more menacing and cool. I doubt they'd sell many "gay" items, like fairy wings and such..

 

 

 

I dont see why everyone is so hostile to the idea, this is Jagex, and it is runescape, you dont have to worry about sunglasses and baggy pants, the way i picture it is optional armour animations and unique weapon/armour styles rather than the plain platebodies we have currently. Aside from the "Buy gold" misunderstanding, a shop to buy in-game pretty items wouldn't bother me. Since Jagex are already doing this in a sorta way, with their shop and all.

OMFG thank you, EVERY SINGLE ITEM IN THIS HSOP WOULD HAVE LITTLE TO NO (like no more then 10) BONUSES, THEY WOULD BE UNTRADEABLE, AND THEY WOULD BE FOR LOOKS ONLY!

I would actually encourage the idea of a RuneScape cash shop that sells purely decorative items, given a couple limitations. First off, the items would have to be cash shop only, meaning no buying full naval/ringmaster/other existing costume.

 

 

 

Second, they really need to improve their equip table so that costume items which give no bonuses simply overlay your equipped armor. This is an equip system I've seen in other games that I simply love. It would give more point to costume items, and make them more desirable on release of said cash shop.

 

 

 

I don't see a RuneScape cash shop ever being developed though. Possibly within future projects of Jagex, but not for RuneScape.

yeh, item masking, like i said earlier, for example, a paintbrush to replace your rune longswords (or any other 1h wep) the added item would have no bonuses, but would keep the bunoses of the item under it, so your weapon would look cool but still be usefull

 

 

 

and it would not sell items that you got via other means (ex, ring master, naval, etc...)

 

 

 

also, i thought that it could sell other pets, ones not for summoning, like a pnada or pheonix, or soemthing lke that ;p

Pets are a nice idea. And maybe they could actually do something useful, like automatically pick up your coin drops for you. Lord knows people waste thousands in coin drops out of sheer unwillingness to pick them up. lol

That provides a use. No, that idea, though good, would be more appropriate for Summoning. Something like a dragon or crow, that's known for hording things of a gold/shiny nature.

Well I'm not against cash shops having a unique use outside of equipment bonuses or acting as raw materials. It's when the cash shops directly interferes with the economy by disrupting the traditional means of these, through our usual raw materials/armors/potions/etc that the cash shop has a negative impact on the game. The fear is that cash shop items would cause existing items to become obsolete, thus affecting the economy harshly, but this wouldn't be the case if an item held a completely unique ability such as drop retrieval.
