October 15, 200817 yr A few concerns that came to me about this update: Since your enemy drops the new equipment at random times couldn't you go to an isolated area with a friend and trade off kills until someone gets the drop? won't this signal the return and possibly overhaul of luring? since there are many safe areas now theres probably endless tricks to luring players now since theres no "wilderness ditch" to block the path. I foresee a major nerf to the drop rates in the near future. With the current system, RWTs just bot their way to a level 120+ character, then people pay them like $5 for 10 kills or something, with both people going to a place like Lletya.well I think you have to have a certain amount of money on you when you die in order for your opponent to recieve a decent drop. The way I was thinking is that say you and you're friend 1 item with a AGS and turn on protection prayer to keep the AGS, however you have more than 80k worth of value on you so your opponent still gets a drop but you lose nothing. Protected items don't count towards the 80k according to jagex.ah, ok well that fixes things, but still, you can play a gamble with a friend but just taking 80k a trip as well as you're friend doing it, if you get lucky you'll still profit off of a good drop new armor drop. Even if it is only 75K that you risk, the new armors are like 10M each, or 133 such drops.Exactly, just trade off 133 times with a friend and by then both of you should have at least 2-3 armor pieces and alot more wealth than you lost.
October 15, 200817 yr Even if it is only 75K that you risk, the new armors are like 10M each, or 133 such drops. They need to make a point system. Say the opponent loses full rune; you gain 180k points. In order to have a decent chance to get a good drop, you would need a quarter of the amount of points equivalent to the min GE price of that item. So to have a decent chance to get a DFH drop, you would need around 12m points. Of course, you could still get drops, but having high points would make them more likely. It's the only way to make it so that people can't farm kills.

It's the only way to make it so that people can't farm kills. Couldn't they just farm points then? I'm assuming from what someone said that you can run back and collect your items as long as it's within 1 minute. If that's true, two people could stand right outside a safe zone next to a respawn point, one of them intentionally looses his godsword, and then goes and picks it back up. The person who killed him now has 20-60m points =/ And if they do it again, the killer has a significant chance of getting a little something more than just points... Correct me if I'm wrong in that assumption, please.
October 15, 200817 yr you guys are making a lot of assumptions. as if jagex hasnt even thought of those things. i'm sure they have and the drop system is a lot more complicated then you make it out to be; i think you underestimate them. i suggest you read the way you improve your chances of good drops on the main site. one consideration is prior losses! so if you lose a lot your chances improve for better drops etc. there are a lot more factors that weigh in; for good or mediocre drops... go ahead and read about it. also there is no such thing as a rulebreaking lure on pvp worlds because you essentially are crossing the old ditch when you hit enter. that would fall under the category of tactics. i'm not surprised to see second guessing and people on these forums thinking they know better than jagex and think they thought of things that jagex hadnt. also, does anyone know more about corrupt dragon armour and weapons. anyone get those drops yet? are they dropped on f2p and p2p? are they useable on f2p and p2p? and can you use their special attack? However, I can see that many player love it. And I'm glad PvP was released in this way, despite it bringing back RWT to some extent.
October 15, 200817 yr I'm still not entirely sure if it brought RWIT back. The "You have defeated ___" chat indicates that it's somehow seeing who killed whom. It would be a simple matter to have it record whom killed whom from there. When a player's killed another player enough times to get a drop, I think it would be easy to see no? ;) We have no clue what sort of defenses Jagex put up against this sort of RWIT, but seeing how far they went to try and get rid of it beforehand, I imagine they wouldn't allow it back in so flippantly. this link kills spam
October 15, 200817 yr I am going to test something with my brother and see if it is really easily imbalanced. I'll try to report back in a bit.

Jagex cant do anything if 2 player keep on fighting and the same one keeps on winning. How would they know that its not a real match and not a fake one... Many people are stuborn enough to loose 10times just to win once. |Tip.it's TOP F.o.G player|Current Goals: 95STR/95ATK/95RANGED|

I think you're right. I bet the more often you kill or are killed by the same player, the lower your chances of a good item. Jagex did say that it's a complicated system. EDIT: I can't wait till someone goes PKing underwater with a brine saber. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
