New Max Hits [again]

@Dan3HitU

Recommended Posts

Seeing as the Vesta Chainbody and Platelegs have higher +strength than the previous highest Torso (Bandos Chestplate too) and Bandos Tassets.

Difference: +2 Strength (top, +6 now)

Difference: +1 Strength (legs, +3 now)

The new max hit on players done with AGS is: 76

The new max hit on NPCs done with AGS is: 89 (Salve Amulet[e])

---------------------------

Onto the discussion:

Do you think that people will buy these strength boosting armours just for the higher-hit capabilities to show off in Duel Arena, CW, etc?

Maybe. People paid 20+ mil for bandos' marginal strength bonus.

Although, the fact that these only last an hour might deter this activity from becoming commonplace.

True.

I thought the new items were non-tradable though?

The weapons will be used far more often for pvp than the armor, and only for the specs. On top of that, it's cost efficient to buy the corrupted versions.

I think for right now, the expensive ancient armors are going to be neat outfits for people with a couple million to spend.

Personally, I can see Jagex making them "fixable" within the next few weeks because people will complain that they want to use them on NPC's and 10M isn't worth it for 1 hours item of clothing.

Either that or their prices will drop by a LOT.

I can definitely see some sort of change, although I have no idea what will happen. Possibly make them 'rarer' drops, make them repairable and potentially use them on non-pvp player worlds but knocking down their stats a bit?

At the moment the armour is pretty much useless, the weapons seem great, but considering the use of the armour it's not really viable to risk them on pvp, not when you only need a mere 75k's worth of items on you to potentially get good drops.

That's a big assumption that the prices will stay at 10 million. I'm glad Jagex is introducing decaying armor. It keeps the price low (only 1 hour of combat time), encourages use in profitable areas (no grinding), and encourages a stable price (constantly leaving the economy).

Yeah, the price will drop, which undercuts the argument one needs a repair argument.

To be honest, I've always been for all weapons and armor to decay, requiring smithing to repair them. As that's not feasible (well, it is, but takes alot of game memory), this is a cool way.

PS: If the price stays or raises on these armor, it means players have decided the use and rarity of the item justifies paying more for it, once again undercutting the need for a repair option (which would cause a price crash).

I think as this month progresses and people get tired of pking and it goes back to what it was before the updates and all we'll see more armour coming into the economy because of all the 1 itemers right now. I think it'll be used heavily in pking not by buying it but by people who get it as a drop. I figure the super rich people like merchants or 3rd age owners will buy it just for fun otherwise well 1 hour for 10M I'd rather barrage ;) :)

Meh, I'm thinking the items will be one of those "frozen items" because very few players will actually pay so much for an hour when they can pay extra for a permanent bandos item. You have to own hundreds of millions to use those items regularly.

[hide=]

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

How does taking a rare item, and making it more rare introduce a stable economy.

If the item has real benefits(makes you pking god), then the item will continually be sought after

Fortunately you can't get arrested in Runescape for indecent exposure if your armor degrades while wearing it.

I have heard that the corrupt versions lack special attacks. Also, RS Wiki says that you can use the items on non-PvP worlds. Anyone who has one care to test it out?

An easy way to test that out would be to buy one of the corrupted javelins or thrown axes. They're cheap, so it wouldn't be a loss.

Like NukeMarine said, it's because these items are constantly disappearing. The price will surely drop because of the rate of decay. These items have by far the best stats in Runescape, and when the price drops enough, they'll be bought and used by PKers.

The new max hit on players done with AGS is: 76

That seems incorrect to me. I've hit a 73 before on Graardor, with the same bonuses that I could achieve against a player. Dropping the +3 on the helm (I had a skill cape, no point in counting that since it has no strength bonus), even if that reduces it by a whole point, that means a max hit of at least 72 against players helmless and capeless.

Throw in the 20% on a CW brace, and you get a max hit of at least 86 against players. That's without the new armor.

So how on earth can the new max hit on players done with an AGS = 76? You're trying to say the max hit has DROPPED 10 points? #-o

Was at 98 str also.

But I can't really see it being used a lot more, 30m to hit 1 point higher for 1 hour max?

Thats void you dip.

Hes talking about raw strength bonuses.

Don't be a jerk. 3 hit u said clearly in his front post that he was talking about max hit against players. Castle wars, Void, etc, all work on players. If you have all kinds of fancy criteria, you should probably specify them before stating that value as the max hit "against players".
