The Ancient Warriors Origins

Maulmachine

Recommended Posts

"In the ancient days of RuneScape, several great warriors walked the land. With all of the bloodshed in the PvP worlds, their equipment is heeding the call and returning to the surface... "

This is the introduction to the section of the knowledge base that deals with the new pvp armors, it would seem as if these warriors are somewhat similar to the barrows brother, possibly even saradomin's counter to them.

What we know about these great warriors is that their names are, Morrian(The Ranger), Statius(Melee, its also noteworthy that all of his armor has a lower strength bonus than that of Vesta, however his defence is far higher than Vesta) Vesta( Let's call him The Strong he was the highest strength bonus than any other warrior that has roamed runescape, his armor is not very defensive.) And lastly, Zuriel the Mage.

Where did these warriors come from? The miasmic spellbook seems to hint that there may even be more spells to come, such as other opposing spellbooks, how were these warriors destroyed? Who were they loyal to?

I have also discovered this.

Vesta is The goddess of the hearth, worshiped in a temple containing the sacred fire tended by the vestal virgins.

Morrigan is a celtic war goddess. translation is the phantom queen. Morrigan's symbol is a crow. Morrigan appears vaguely in Irish Mythology, however Morrigan is comparable to the German Valkyries.

Statius is the last name of a renowned roman poet, weird. I can't really find much on him, just that he's a poet, I'll look more in to the literal definition of his name.

Zuriel has a hebrew origin and it means "The Lord My Rock".

Miasmic also means a noxious environment and atmosphere, maybe zuriel has managed to tip the balance of elements in the air?

Discuss.

Very interesing, now that I think of it.

I'd love to see something like Varla's son(and all the others) as another group of Barrows brothers. A stronger, 80+ defense version.

Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Because of you all I will start rewriting it asap.[/color]

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

Like RobinHoodie said, itd be interesting to have a second set of "Barrows Brothers." Perhaps these new Ancients were part of the Godwars and were great warriors, like Azzanandra (sp?). Pretty interesting if Jagex expands on this.

Actually this would work, we know that the night the barrows brothers died they were fighting badly, karil wasn't as accurate, the other brothers also were fighting badly, maybe a more powerful miasmic spell had be cast upon them.

It should be noted that Vesta, Statius, and Zuriel are males, while Morrigan is a female. Check the weapon speeds page and the range, melee, and mage guides in the KB, respectively.

I am also extremely curious as to who these warriors were. Because of what the KB says, it seems as though they just enjoyed fighting. But, who knows.

You kind of insulted us and complimented us there :?

I believe I mentioned morrigan was a female... and you are wayy wrong if you think morrigan is the only male, if you checked you'd see that vesta is a goddess. If vesta is meant to be a male than it is unimportant, because we can pretty much guarantee that the origin is with the Roman goddess.

Do you mean these warriors being Zamorak's counter to the Barrows Brothers? Seeing as they were spearheading the crusade in Morytania after the Godwars and all...

Ye i thought that too.... The barrow brothers fought for saradomin,

Good research though, hopefully their back stories will be expanded on. Does anyone remember if when the Barrows came out did the lores and histories on them appear at the same time?

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

Wouldn't it make more sense, logically, that they would actually be Zarosian? For one of them (Zuriel) to have access to Ancient Magicks implies that she was in league with Zaros. At the same time, the fact that the drops occur in PvP worlds (PvP used to be the wilderness, Zaros' domain, originally. This is a bit farfetched,) would also imply that the warriors would have to be either Zamorakian or Zarosian. Considering how ancient the armor must be for it to erode so quickly, I would guess Zarosian. Jagex won't confirm it for a while, as they don't like to hint of Zaros too much.

There's where it mentions Zuriel and Morrigan as being male and female, respectively. But, you're right in that it doesn't specify the genders of Vesta or Statius.

I think you've got something with Zuriel using Ancients. The KB mentions that Zuriel mastered both Ancients and Modern magicks, so I don't know if that means he's just a great mage, or Ancient Magicks were taught to him.

EDIT: Scratch that, it just says he mastered Ancients. Very curious.

Yeah, I think that zuriel might be zamorakian and managed to steal the ability to cst these spells, however this is largely speculation.

Maybe they fought alone or for any sides? Who says they had to serve together?

Oh, I have my own wacky theory about Zuriel. You know that Golem in the desert? Well, maybe Zuriel created him and the rest of the Golem army. Remember, the Golem is a figure originally from Jewish mythology. Given Zuriel's Hebrew name, there may exist a connection.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
