erm, the only occasion that i think that guthan will be better is that if you do not have bunyip available, but apart from that there are no other good location for guthans that can't be done with bunyip..

When you don' t have 68 or higher summoning level.

Else, I think Guthans is only better on REALLY long trips, or if you wear the body.legs and only use spear + helm to heal. That's basiscally unlimited food for 15+ hours in 2 inventory spots.

I don' t know how hard summoning potions are to come by, but I can imagine somebody preferring guthans over that to elongate the trips.

oi stop copying me transcript lol, joking..guthans could be used for some area where you will be damaged too much for bunyip to heal you like in a multi-combat area, you could use food to supplement the difference of health or guthans..

I like to use both, the bunyip usually keeps me near full health, but if I get hit hard a couple of times, guthans does come in handy for healing. Summoning pots aren't too hard to come by, so if you want to use bunyips, that's fine. Although, in the long run, I would think that guthans is cheaper, although I have nothing to base that off of.

IMO, it's up to you, if you have all str bonus gear for combat, get a bunyip and bring food just in case. If you don't care about str bonuses, just use guth bod/legs and a whip, and have the helm and spear to heal, again not relying completely on guthans.

So either one is fine imo, but it's just a matter of what your preference is. If you plan on camping for a long time somewhere, guthans, but if it's task to task, bunyips should be fine. but ALWAYS bring some food, like 5 or so monks because if you don't, you will usually end up needing it.

bunyip is almost always better cause with a bunyip you don't have to waste time changing equipment and have a slower exp rate as compared to using guthan which involves removing your powerful black mask and weapon of choice...the only time where guthan is better is when the hits you take are so much that a bunyip can't heal them sufficiently MAYBE for cases like nechs or gargoyles but even then i'm guessing you have quite a high def already and if you don't wear the stupid torso with some 2 handed weapon to nechs you shouldn't need guthan...but for most people and for most slayer tasks bunyip will definitely be better than guthan ;)

Bunyip> guthans at abby demons lol. they are pathetically weak pouches last you 10 hours without food (if you wanted to)

Im a ferm advocate of Guthans is useless, so in my case never.

The real answer is ONLY when you are 89+ summon and want to use geyser titan+ familar in multi-combat. Though personally Id rather use a bunyip or unicorn still because often i 3-5 hit almost all monsters, the familar often gets maybe 1 hit in.

This coupled with changing to guthans the exp rates are probly close to the same, and Im just lazy.

I guess if you whistled him into combat everytime it would be alot more beneficial but I cant be bothered.

Short answer yes you should use geyser+ when possible, but I dont. otherwise no never use guthans

What can I say, I'm busy. ;)

And yeah, Bunyip isn't all that it's made to be. Remember, though, you really don't need Guthan's. A inventory of Pineapple pizzas and 2 Super sets should suffice... although on some tasks, Guthan's could help.

Combat familiars help ALOT.

Bunyips are great but they only really tide you over. Sometimes you need the extra healing power of Guthans.

For example Nechs hit hard. Sometimes they get lucky and your down to 40 health and you need a quick zap of Guthans. Othertimes they will barely touch you and you won't need to use Guthans.

For that reason I prefer taking the spear/helm and only wasting 2 inventory slots, rather than take pizza's/fish which will waste more.

Sometime I bring bones to peaches runes (usually only when I use Karils instead of Guthans) to boost my health if needed.

Guthans is better when you're needing the HP badly (like 10 hp left, 0 prayer). I usually use guthans and use a strong familiar, like karmathulu overlord.

If you're thinking of using the lvl 79 titans to heal on tasks...don't. It's much to expensive and it's only 4 more hp/minute than a bunyip. the defense bonus along wit the healing is nice at DKs and such, though.

Alxo, when using a fighting familiar on tasks I personally like to attack several at a time, and let the familiar kill one while I kill the others. I guess that this wouldn't work too well on stronger monsters though...

I never use guthans when slaying. Bunyips are way more efficient.
