October 29, 200817 yr Even though I did this yesterday I might as well give my opinion on it... This event was loads better than I expected. The last holiday event I enjoyed was my first 1 at Christmas! Trick or treating, puzzles, Lots of XP! What else could you ask for? The Warlock armor isn't really my style. But PURPLE CATS AND BROOM FTW! :D Jagex win again. ⅹ Last.fm YouTube Team A vs Team B M u s ii X Rocky Keane ⅹ
October 29, 200817 yr The great issue of stupidity that seems to be popular atm is shown here where so many people are praising the halloween event for giving loads of xp, the broom and the purple cats. These however are the QUEST rewards and the quest is staying permanently. The event itself only gives you the witches/warlocks robes which are yet another addiction to the wardrobe of holiday things. The warlock version match the pumpkin head nicely and unlike many previous holiday outfits these robes actually look quite nice. Overall I'd say the event was quite fun, with some keel graphics and a nice reward but content wise this years halloween event had us doing virtually nothing compared to normal events. All we did was go click trick or treat on a few npcs to get temporary sweeties that don;t have any kewl side effects and another set of statless, thou all being it nice looking clothes. IMO this holiday event has one of the nicest rewards we have seen for a while, but that event itself is utter rubbish that has just been glossed up with some nice graphics and a fairly nice quest to distract from its lack of substance Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Just spruce up the rewards of the event. ~ W ~

October 29, 200817 yr Jagex got it spot on this year. The quest made all the difference as it gave it all a bit of a purpose. So people like me, who don't like doing stuff for no XP found it much more enjoyable. The fact the quest had no requirements and was open to everyone made no difference, I still got a QP, 20k mage XP and 7.2k construction XP. Plus they catered for the F2P/P2P divide nicely. P2P got all that extra XP and the teleport whilst F2P still got an extra "holiday item" which they can enchant further should they go P2P in future. The trick or treating was old style holiday event and a bit boring as it was just lame holiday clothing reward, but it was so short it didn't really matter. All in all I was very impressed this year and only hope future holidays are celebrated in a similar way. Trust the Gene Genie!
October 29, 200817 yr how does one bowl of soup does that? lol It's been mixed with a broom. 'Never trust people with funny haircuts.' IMO this holiday event has one of the nicest rewards we have seen for a while, but that event itself is utter rubbish that has just been glossed up with some nice graphics and a fairly nice quest to distract from its lack of substance To F2P, the quest is part of the holiday. Don't call people stupid and overlook the bulk of them please? I never said the quest wasn't part of the holiday. I said the quest wasn't part of the event. I said people saying the event had an amazing reward because of the xp, cat, broom and outfit were stupid because only the outfit is the reward for the event. Equally for the f2p view point the quest reward ain't exactly brilliant. The main high points of the quest reward are the mage xp and purple cats. Since f2p can't get cats and can't get any of the enchantments they receive neither of these boons. Though the 10 genie xp style doses of the soup is no doubt useful to them. My argument still entirely stands regardless of p2p or f2p status that only the warlock/witch outfit count as the event reward as the rest is the quest reward. And when I look at this year's Hallowe'en your way I quite agree, but I choose to look at it as more fun more diverse that former years. Besides, in your summary a few posts back you forgot to mention that we all (f2p included) got a really snazzy emote \ Due to my epic stats, I have now started WGS (but I still hate spoilers).
October 29, 200817 yr I never said it wasn't fun. Or that the rewards weren't good. I simply said you cannot give all praise to the event because the event alone was far more rudimentary and basic that we usually get and its basic nature is only overlookable as the rewards are fairly nice, plus the graphics and quest gloss over the fact the event itself is very very basic. October 29, 200817 yr My short review on the event. It was fantastic and I actually enjoyed it. It was soo much better than I expected. There was a range of things to do to keep me occupied, and yet still had fun! Having the traditional event as well as the new 'event quests' made it worthwile. Not to mention to cool new outfit adn broom, new emote, niffty experience and the purple cat. Some may say its pointless, but there is no harm dressing up into the spirit and having these items. Infact, I am pleased to have more to add to my collection . I have yet to travel to the other witches across the world, which I will do soon. But I see the effort made by Jagex, and well done to the team! Not only the actual event/quest, but the site has been done up too. I love the new banner, it ties along with the actual start of the event/quest. Dissapointed that the log-in background wasn't adjusted to fit in with the theme, but oh well. I loved this year efforts and I am looking foward to the christmas event! Oh, just like to point out that is possible that each holiday event is most likely to have a additional quest from now on. If you look at your quest journel, the event and quest has been logged. This emphasises that Easter/Christmas will not go alone. Happy halloween everyone  Wewt, bornfire night soon.

October 29, 200817 yr wasn't very happy with this years event. found the rewards a bit pointless for F2p. what's the point of giving F2p a broom when all they can do is carry it around and sweep? thought the clothes were second-rate too, well thats my rant over ;) . liked the quest though What did you want? just me a bit disappointed because when we were given the broom I kinda hoped we were going to get the levitating broom that lost last years poll  Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.

I use clothing all the time while skilling or doing non-wild clue scrolls, where the stats really don't matter + being nearly wieghtless helps. They give you a nice outfit while not holding you back. Have to agree with you on emotes though. Besides looking cool (and the random emote clue :wall: ), they really do not provide you with anything. I guess you can say they are ment to be fun, pointless, and random. OT: I really liked the Hallowe'en event and quest. I do most holiday events to take a break from the daily grind of leveling up skills, kind of like seasonal minigames. Some nice xp rewards made it all the more enjoyable =D> [hide]Come, be my light.Mingle with my darknessMay we mix to createOur own twilight sunsetThe dusk breezeSpreading cloudsOn our murky horizon~Darkpoet837~[/hide]

October 29, 200817 yr Oooo, the Halloween event, :twss: . I can't wait until I find the time to do it! The clothing is actually pretty nice. The broom is meh though.
