I was doing the Blood Ties quest, and I hear a screaming and a bunch of tingling and I see shiny stuff flying all around me. I freaked out and started shooting everywhere. I was able to find the gun, but only like four shots. I didn't notice the explosion, I was running around out the Wal-Mart or whatever it's called, killing raiders, and then when I was done there was the firelance next to one of their corpses, and I assumed one had just dropped it. The Super Duper Mart? Lol. :D I got my Firelance by walking out of the Meresti Train Station, one of the biggest random event sites for the Firelance. That was cool, but since I had no idea what happened with the bright flash of light, I thought it was chance that there were 25 Alien Power Cells on the ground, and I wasn't aware of the Firelance. It stayed there for about literally 40 game hours, about 3 weeks in game time. One day, I decided that I wanted the Firelance because I saw it on the Wiki, and went to a lot of Random Event Sites, none of which ever produced the Firelance. I reviewed what the event looked like, and remembered that instance. I returned, and voila, more cells on the ground that I failed to pick up, and the Firelance. In other news, I just discovered I do not have to restart the game after all. I found about 500 old saves, ranging from when I was level 24ish and when I had around 60 hours of gameplay, just 20 hours shy of my original. I'm so happy that I backed them up on my Mac HD. Too bad that I hadn't realized it earlier though, I've been wasting three weeks figuring out what to do next. lol wal-mart. close though, it's a super mart. same basic thing. also, i hate you for being so lucky. Although it is based on luck, why not going to one of the Random Event sites, like Meresti or the Anchorage Memorial, saving before you reach them, and go there over and over until the Firelance event appears? Have that, believe it or not I had his older version before he put it under construction. The Alpha release is better. I'd recommend the Colossus armor, its really cool looking armor that comes in heavy and combat variants. As for retexturing, I could recommend a lot of mods that do that type of work. The main one I'd recommend (besides the Pip Boy 5000 mod) would probably be the Global Travel System. Or even the Coyote Reflex Power Armor and its Hi-Res retexture. The last thing I'd recommend is Darnified UI. His work on the User interface is amazing, like his work on it when he played Oblivion. Wisp Posted April 26, 2009 Share Posted April 26, 2009 I have the older version of the settler and the new one. Combining the buildings, I now have a better city. With a two story building, and a double height watchtower. Here are some other cool mods I found, looking through the list of what I use. Destructable mini nuke Suitcase nuke Mininuke Weapons Water tower hideout Those are mostly just cool little mods. The destructable mini nuke is this: If you see a mininuke on the ground, you can shoot at it (Might take a few shots depending on what gun you use) and it will explode, just like it would if you shot it out of the launcher. It's fun to place a mine then put a mininuke next to it. Suitcase nuke is pointless, but cool. You drop a suitcase they added into the game. in 30 seconds in blows up with the same explosion that destroyed megaton. I suggest putting on god mode to use this, since there's a good chance you won't get out of the explosion radius in 30 seconds. I you leave the cell you placed the bomb in, the timer stops, due to the game engine. Mininuke weapons is just for fun, it adds three guns into the game. A machine gun, a minigun, and another assault rifle. It takes the firing speed of these guns, and replaces the bullets with mininukes. So it's an incredibly rapid fire fat man. The second assault rifle shoots about 20 mininukes per bullet, so it's a giant explosion. Also adds a sniper rifle that fires one bigger mininuke for a bigger explosion Water tower hideout is just a player home, in a water tower. Has a good backstory. Plus, the Tesla Cannon. Is. Amazing. Seriously. This expansion is the most fun and makes you super 1337 and powerful. Especially the Tesla Cannon. This being the case, I started a new character. Named him Kyle (a referrence to Kyle Reese from Terminator). Anyway, thats when I realized this game has all the AI weirdness Oblivion had. And in the same hilarious way Oblivion had. When I escaped the Vault Andy the Robot killed Officer Gomez by lighting him on fire... ...to get a single radroach that was attacking him :lol: Get back here so I can rub your butt.
