Danqazmlp
Well i was having a friendly conversation with a friend about what sport we thought was the #1 sport in the world, both popularity and just how fun the sport is to watch/play but couldn't come up with a definitive answer (like thats even possible?) So instead of a 2 man conversation, what about a 1000 man/woman conversation, what would you class as the worlds #1 sport? I'll give a few examples (if you don't know any sports, really, shame on you) -Football (American) -Football (Soccer) -Motorsports (F1, Nascar, Oval Racing etc.) -Baseball -Rugby -Basketball -Cricket -Hockey -Hockey (ice) -Skateboarding -Extreme Ironing \ There must be literally thousands of sports to choose from. warri0r45
Well we can get popularity over and done with right away. I'm pretty sure it's soccer (football). As for my personal opinion for which is the best to watch, I'd probably say something like rugby league, specifically the State Of Origin series. NoMoreDead
Baseball. It requires a heck of a lot of athletic ability. You need to accelerate, jump, dive, use proper footwork, throw quickly and precisley, and think incredibly quickly. ...And that's only on the defensive side of the game... warren211
Soccer/football is probably the biggest. Can be played anywhere, has no certain regional boundaries. Most other sports depend on the region you live in. My personal favorite sport is basketball. It's a really intense game to watch (for me at least), even more to play. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. tryto
Football/soccer is the most popular, far and away. I'd say that hockey is the most fascinating to watch. x_bow80
Most likely soccer. Pretty popular here in the states, and 100x more in Europe. Its also super fun to make a pick-up game with a bunch of friends. 99 Pics - Range, Defence, HP, Attack, Magic, Strength, Cooking

Danqazmlp
Personally for me motorsports are my #1 sport. I can sit and watch any motorsport for hours (except oval racing, man it does my head in). Been watching F1 since the early Schumacher days, i was so young back then i called him Michael Shoe-maker  . But i find it so exiting to watch, knowing how much skill it takes to drive the courses as fast as proffesional drivers do, requires immense physical fittness to handle the huge G forces and strain for a whole race. Knowing every corner of every track perfectly requires real brains too, you rarely see a dimwitted race driver (except oval racing, 2 corners at high speed, ooh yeah hard to learn :wall: ). You wouldn't see many football players being able to outwit a driver thats for sure. Want to be my friend? Rebdragon
Baseball sucks, it's boring as [bleep]. It's all skill no strategy. Soccer rocks. Make that North America. Mexico is the only North American country that actualy gives a damn about soccer. The USA has american football, and Canada has hockey (by far the most popular sport in this country).

But most popular in the world is either soccer or something like swimming or track. Dalcyte
Soccer's probably the most popular sport and one of the best to watch worldwide But i'm a big fan of running. 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon what have you. Running is one of the greatest sports out there. Especially cross country. You have to run against the course, battle it out against the hills. You have to battle against your competitors to edge them out and make moves at certain times to crush them. But most importantly, unlike any other sport, you have to battle against yourself. While other sports may have that element, they certainly do not compare to xc. You need to fight with yourself constantly to give it all you have, give more than what you have, despite what your brain and body tells you. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it

doomy
Soccer in popularity. Second is debatable. Best to play/watch is all in opinion, my favourite sport to play is definately cricket, but thats when you're actually doing something, not fielding or waiting for your bat. Also I love watching Rugby League and cricket again (shorter forms, can't watch a whole test match)... Doomy edit: I like sheep
