The Next Achievement Diary: Falador + Freminnik in December!

Featured Replies

Would make sense to have have Falador and possibly Taverly in there too

Especially since Rimmington isn't important enough by itself...

There's always been three different characters running the diaries and I doubt this one would be any different, so perhaps there is also one in Falador and Taverly somewhere if you are correct.

I don't have time but maybe someone could outline/shade a world map to show the entire areas that tasks from previous diaries were located at?

Very possible. Perhaps another f2p one?

I don't think it would be F2P. You see, the Lumbridge/Draynor diaries were only made F2P because not only were the tasks simple, but it was made to help the newer players travel around the area much easier.

I think that it will be in Rimmington for the next diary because why else would it be there? However, was it in the Behind the Scenes for November? If not, then it will most likely not be very soon and next month at the earliest.

Havn't even done one Diary tbh.. They're good rewards. But not good enough to warrant the time put into them really. :-#

Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Because of you all I will start rewriting it asap.[/color]

There already is a crapload of teles to there

To Rimmington? Only two I can think of are the House (and mine's staying where it is, not to some desolate place) and random events :wall:

Eh, just like there was a new quest in lumbridge, by Explorer Jack, that never showed up?

Personally, I think their quest/minigame/acheivement symbols are just wacky. :s

Just Jagex having a lol at our expense, eh?

They seem to like to mess with our heads, either they leave a teaser out for too long and people loose interest in it or they completely forget they put it there.

*Wakes from slumber*

What? Huh? They're calling for...Mourning's End Part 3? Did we even do a part 2? Oh that quest! We released part 3 in 2005, or at least Mod Mark was supposed to upload....Oh god, now that I think about it, Mod Mark hasn't left his office for three years. Can someone check up on him?

*waits*

He's dead? Oh.....Well, that explains the complaints...and rotting smell. I just thought computer geeks naturally smelled a bit.

There's obviously gonna be a Falador achievement diary. It's gonna be P2P only because F2P already got their crummy diary and lets be honest, they only deserve 1. Honestly I hate how ppl are basically saying "I hope it is F2P cuz I don't wanna pay $5 to Jagex cuz I'm cheap!"

i'm a F2Per, and i approve of this message

seriously, though. Jagex is a business. They have so much oppourtounity with this diary as with all the others, hense the reason they take their time to make it all happen. A diary over the course of 4 months means someone works to design, balance, implement, create new items, create new locations, and to an even greater extent even new npcs.

what i don't approve that you said that we're too cheap. F2P is for people what don't need P2P, whether by economical, personal, or social needs. I've been playing F2P and while i have had the thought of upgrading, i would never actually need it.

so basically, i sincerely sincerely SINCERELY doupt it will be F2P. If it is, it will give me something to do. But i'm not gonna pout and march through the F2P world yelling out how we've been robed.

Besides, if it is F2P, the reward will be crummy for P2P anyways. All they got was a farming teleport, really...

Edit: woot 42 posts!!! anyone who laughed when i said that you're welcome. anyone who didn't laugh continue on as you were.

It is not the great who are strong, but the strong who are great--Albel Nox

Probably a bug, but another diary sure would be nice...

You obviously don't crap a lot , since I haven't personally seen a teleport specifically for Rimmington.

Anyways, if there is a teleport to Rimmington, I could see Impling catching become more popular again. I wanted to make some jars as a member, but after seeing the long complicated process and the lack of ingredients on the G.E? meh.

And at that time, the closest bank was in Draynor/ Falador.

Nice find, but I still hope - at least until this is really confirmed - the next diary will be in the fremmenik area.

Falador/Rimmington/Port Sarim would be the next diary for us

But why are they adding this first :?

Seers Village/Camelot came 2nd to varrock in the Guaranteed Poll that came out last year

It may be easier for them to do, and they probably want to complete the f2p areas first?

With a 'Falador' Diary, practically all of the f2p map has a diary (excluding the wildy) I think.

I still have to do lumby/draynor and varrock lol o.o

Suggest a poll for Tip.it - Here!

Well, there's one suprise after another Den. At one point this will expand to all of the members areas. Also, why else would it be there? ;)

Actually the Karamja one is totally worth the time. The gloves give you the only teleport to Shilo Village which is extremely convenient for high level slayers, gem miners, fly fishers, and for getting anywhere on the southern part of Karamja for lvl-3 clue scrolls. For the amount of time it takes to get the Varrock armor, it's not really worth it, except for the ability to buy 64 battlestaves a day and make a quick 80k profit (~500k a week), which over time pays for all those farming and smithing levels you needed in the first place.

Slayer Drops

Dragon Chainbody (dust devil), Dragon Platelegs x2, Dragon Plateskirt x3, Dragon Boots x38, Dragon Med Helm x5, Dragon Spear x3, Shield Left Half x4

Staff of Light x2, Abyssal Whip x16, Dark Bow x17, Granite Maul x17, Focus Sight, Hexcrest x2, Black Mask x4, Leaf-bladed Sword, Mystic x31, Obsidian x13, Brine Sabre x2, Spirit Shield, Dragonstone x5

He actually has a very valid argument there (RobinHoodie). The rewards certainly seen not worth the time and effort. I'll do a few calculations and speculations on this.

Karamja imo was fun and worth my time, but when I look at it I didn't really NEED its benefits. I mean, that thing took 4 hours. Only use I have for the gloves is the teleport to Shilo, and is Ardy Boat + Cart THAT much slower to constitute 4 hours of playing time? The gloves shave off maybe 20 seconds? That would mean I would have to use the gloves 720 times to make them worth it. Your call.

Varrock was annoying and was no fun at all. But the rewards are incredible. How long does buying 64 bstaves take? I do it in 2 trips with my terrorbird, each time runs 83k-85k profit. I'll do a generous exaggeration and say it takes 45 seconds to buy 64. That averages to 6.7m per hour, over the course of 80 days. Took me probably 5 hours to do Varrock, and about 2-3 more to get the stats I needed. If I average 600k per hour, I could have made 4.5m in that time. That means my Varrock armor would pay itself back in less than an hour of work, over the course of less than 80 days. Plus is acts as my armor of choice while Runecrafting in ZMI and Abyss, which is a big plus.

Lumbridge is probably a bit controversial. Obviously, if you are f2p it is 100% worth it for the ONLY good ring to wear, the BEST teleport to Port Sarim, as well as the ONLY way to restore run energy. But for p2p, it might be disputed. The uses of the Ring in p2p are quite limited. The teleport is often replaced by the Glory for Draynor, and teleports to Karamja are covered by boats, the glory, and other teleports. This renders the teleport of the ring USELESS for p2p (except for Farming Runs). The Alchemy is worthless too. Unlike f2p, p2p'ers won't often see themselves carrying the Ring on Slayer Tasks and such (usually there is something more useful), so the Alch does nothing to save invent space if it isn't there. Plus Beasts of Burden usually eliminate that problem altogether. The Alch does not provide much prospect of profit to be made. The energy restore is equal to 4-6 Tireless run scrolls, which are about 1k altogether. That obviously negates its use. Super energy potions can also replace it, 1.8 super energies = 1 explorer ring. But as said before, it DOES save a lot of time on herb runs. It took me 2 hours to get Lumbridge (admit it, that Diary was cake). It probably saves 30 seconds per farming run as opposed to using the Glory teleport. 2 hours = 1.2m for me, if it saves 30 seconds per run, then it will repay itself after 240 uses. Given 2 herb runs per day, thats 120 days. However, Glories must be recharged. You can recharge 29 of them at once at the Fountain, but 28 is more practical. This takes about 1.5 minutes, and it equals 112 charges. That means using the Ring 240 times for Farming Runs opposed to the Glory will make the Ring pay itself back, and save you about 3 minutes. Of course, those with the Geyser Titan can recharge Glories at an insignificant rate.

Just two small notes on the above:

1) I did not include EXP lamps, although each Diary does provide 16k in Lamps I believe? Except Lumbridge, which is 6.5k.

2) I also did not mention that a large part of that was based on me making 600k per hour. That might not be the case for some of you. If you make more, the items will pay themselves back in less time. If you make less, they will take more.

3) You might also not finish the diaries the same rate I did, but note for each one I started when it was red (unstarted) and TOOK NO BREAKS until it was 100% complete.

Damn... I really wanted the next AD to be Isafdar... (or even Rellekka)

I was kinda hoping for ardy, but another f2p AD might be good.

zapp you have forgoten about the 1 prayer bonus. I don't know about how that effects the how many pray pots you use. but that is a good incentive to get it even as a member. \'

Yeah I can't spell get over it!

My bets are on an Asgarnia Diary, Falador, Rimmington, Port Sarim, and probably Burthrope, and Taverley

Thanks to Killerwat for the sig!

Would be interesting if there were 4 levels, with the beginner tasks available for F2p. Granted it would annoy me to have to do 4 levels... Still, I haven't even gotten around to finishing the Karamja Hard Tasks yet (Stupid lag out with a few more rounds of fight caves to go)

P2P forever!... Or at least 'til <insert excuse here> happens

+1 Prayer is pretty negligible. It really won't help, here's why:

On F2P, there are no Prayer Potions, so the Ring does VERY little since there is very little prayer to begin with, plus prayer is rarely used long-term.

On P2P, there are prayer potions. But let's put it into perspective. What tasks/monsters do you pray on? High leveled ones. Aviansies, Black Demons, and Metal Dragons come to mind, don't they? If you hopped to any of those places, I guarantee the best choice of a ring won't be the Explorer Ring.

My point is that it doesn't do anything on f2p due to the lack of ways to regain prayer points conveniently. On p2p it doesn't do anything because all monsters which require prayer all have better options for the ring slot.

Like I said was not sure if it ment anything. Just thought I would put it out there.

Yeah I can't spell get over it!
