Do you ever get the feeling...

Do you ever get the feeling that life is just an endless facade, of inconveniences and depressing events one after the other, and even the good things that happen, fail to brighten up any thing because you're hit by the reality of the pointlessness? Essentially, being dead inside, or even have no drive, will or push foward to continue living. To sum up, does anyone ever get that flash in your mind, "Why even bother with anything anymore?"

For me there are so many reasons, but I don't want to go into it, because the things which have happened in my life are so freakin' depressing, and some people wouldn't believe me, because the things which have happened are at a strange level of realism.

Also, i'm not talking about particular days, i'm talking about the whoooole of life from beginning to end

I apologise for the depressing emo question, but I wanted to see what others think.

Of course, we all probably have those thoughts. You just have to look for the silver lining though. I'm a strong believer that everything has it's purpose in life - even all the bad things. I've just went through a very depressing stage in my life not too long ago, but now things are looking pretty good for me. :)

I have a feeling of quite the contrary, I almost got run over by a car multiple times, but never got hit, I don't put any effort into school work yet I get high marks and somehow impressed the manager I've had an interview with while I had absolutely no idea how to sell a product to a customer (somehow pulled that one off). I guess it's the approach to life that counts the most. It's also quite weird how I manage to pull everything off. It's like every time something bad is about to happen to me, my mind travels to an alternative reality where that event does not happen. /Crazytalk

Read on...

In life there are good things, and bad things. Everyday, tons of small bad things happen to us. Sometimes it's just a bad thought, you see something you don't like, something happens, or something that's said to you. And just as well, small good things happen all the time too. Everyday, our brain processes all these things.

If you dwell on the bad things, they start consuming you. You boil with rage, sadness, out of all the accumulation of bad things. And if you let it, it leads you towards destruction. Of others, or of yourself.

You can let go of the bad things that happened. And you can strengthen your resolve about the things that you refuse to accept.

Sometimes, people say that you must accept and embrace your situation. But that is not always good thing. When there is something you disagree with, you don't accept it! That would be defeat. You strengthen your resolve and be the change you want to see in the world. You believe and have confidence in your power.

The bad memories, let them go.

People who say hurtful things, their opinions do not matter. That's an important thing to remember, because it is very serious. Some people say mean discouraging things, learn not to give them any importance. You have to be stubborn. Only bother remembering and cheerishing the good memories and good ideas.

And just like that, you can change your outlook on life. Changing your outlook is just the beggining. Identify the things you like, and want to do, and take action to get them. You start moving when you take actions. It is said that time changes things, things change faster when you make a move. But! There are times to take a pause, and think. And there are times to start moving and apply your ideas.

Times to take a pause and think are important, you relax and you heal the past. And then there is time to take action and make something new that you like!

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

i have those feelings at times, what i do to cheer myself up is look at what i do have, compared to a lot of people i have a pretty good damn life, if i actually killed myself it would be like a slap in the face at lest imo. yeah life gets you done, but everyone has problems, we all have our high's and low's. sometimes when your in a slum, you just need to make yourself a good day rather then hoping one is going to happen

I don't get a feeling--I don't think that life is meaningless. I don't think it is without inherent purpose. I know it is.

But I love that. It gives me room to make my own purpose.

Pretty sweet deal, in my opinion.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

I'm a teenager. Of course I do.

But then I read Ecclesiastes. Without turning this into a religious debate somehow, let's just say I found some motivation.

Honestly, I often take some time to think about my life. I usually end up with the conclusion that it sucks. Then a few minutes later I'm all happy and stuff. Rawrgh. (Though I frequently get the feeling that I'm basically a robot. Programmed to do the same things over and over. Nothing interesting goes in in my life. I don't really feel anything. No pain, no happiness.)

It's not easy to let go when something hits you deep in your heart. I've had a few daggers stuck in there, it's painful. But then a cleric comes along and heals you. Then everything is alright.

Perhaps we're all just pessimists and we just love thinking about all the bad things that go on in our lives. I'm sure if we all tried hard enough, we could come up with some good things. Who knows.

Depressing, but yes. I've come to accept the fact that life is pointless, and there is not "next level."I just live day for day, in the present, and do the best of my abilities. Sometime you just have to have fun, that's what keeps me going. What motivates you?

Over the last few weeks I've managed to fail two math tests in a row, send one of my hearing aids through the wash, scare myself into thinking that I lost my credit card and with it my parents' trust, fallen wayyyy behind on an art project, and nearly crashed driving to and from school at least five times.

I feel awesome, because I get over the sucky stuff in life FAST. It doesn't do to dwell on it.

Yes. I fail when it comes to seeing the point in everything. I don't enjoy so much in life, and I'm going to die someday anyways, so why wait? I've tried to kill myself a few times, but the problem I encountered the last two times was that I didn't find a decent thing to hang myself in. I don't think I am exaggerating when I say I've been suicidal my whole life. The first time I thought about suicide was when I was six years old. They say I have that from my great-grandmother, and I'm seeing the same view in one of my little sisters. So it's severe genetic depression. How awesome is that?

Mmm.. depression and loathing of life.

Nothing a nice bong rip cant cure.

Live to love...

Hedonism: 1

Depression: 0

What's the difference? If you are fulfilling a pleasure, then why would you be depressed?

Edit: I think I get your point now... Are you saying that a being high isn't permanent but depression can be?

You're in too deep, man! Pull out! Pull out!

Hedonism is, essentially, living life pleasurably. Hence my response to LP's "live to love."

These things only spring to your mind on days when you feel seriously [bleep]'ed unless you're normally [bleep]'ed up.

Just get over it, I know its easier said than done but just sing a song or as my friend previously stated EAT SOME SKITTLES!!
