Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien

Featured Replies

They did have it, at least as guardians, that is is. (look in your WGS quest journal :P)

And now, we wait for some quests...

If Dragonkin would have a combat level, what level do you think they would be? :P

Over 9000

I actually don't get that joke, I see loads of people saying "it's over 9000", but I don't get why. I do remember that during the Easter event this year there was a machine with that in it's name.

Go there, and all will be revealed.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

He is the 1st person I have ever seen that doesn't know where "its over 9000" comes from ...

There is a secondary joke in this, in the original Japanese manga the text is "It's over 8000", but because it isn't as awesome as saying "It's over 9000" it was changed when it was translated.

On Topic: I think that the Mahjarat were brought over by ic-whatever to keep the dragonkin in their place (wherever that is), kind of like a prison guard.

[hide=Drops]Dragon: Spear x1, Med helm x3, legs x2, pickaxe x1, skirt x3, scimitar x1

Barrows: DH helm x1, Verac Brassy x2, Karil Skirt x1, Ahrim Hood x2, Guthan Spear

GWD: Arma Helm x1

Other: Handcannon x4, Leaf Bladed Sword x3[/hide]

And yeah, please. Over 9000 is nothing after that rest energy glitch. I bet he's a big monster so even I could solo that guy no pray no food.

I hate it when people slap Chinese and Japanese together in a sentence for no reason... totally different countries and cultures.

  • Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.
  • Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler.

Well, it's just because I don't know from which country it is, just that it is from the far, far, very far Asian countries over there.

And it happens 95% of the time too to me, because I'm Belgian and I speak Dutch, so OR they think I'm German, or they start talking about Amsterdam...

Oh well, we'd better get on topic.

Yeah I am asian anime fan and thats why I know it .. oh wait - I'm not.

Its just more popular then Jes... then .. well a lot of stuff lol

I have my doubts about the rift being related to the dragonkin (I'm unsure if this has been brought up before now, but I'll say it anyway)

The rift is just north of the digsite, where there is proof underneath the digsite of the civilization worshipping god Zaros. As the rift is just north of this, it is likely that Zaros is the powerful being that is referred to in the quest. Zaros was a feared, likely bloodthirsty god. He could be related to the dragonkin, but it is unlikely that they are related to the rift. There are no other occurrences that really prove that the dragonkin are prone to this sort of thing, or if they even possess the ability to do something like this. It's more likely to have been put into place by a god like Zaros, who is proven to have control very close to where the rift opened.

Well, Zaros ruled over most of the places where humans live these days (Asgarnia, Misthalin, the Wilderness), and as Zaros is gone already a long time ago, I just think the rift is controlled by a strong evil force, like a Mahjarrat or a demon. Of course, the Dragonkin could be a possibility, but I don't think so. The Dragonkin are beings with a taste of stone buildings and finely crafted things (the fortress, the dragonforge etc), as the rift is kind of "natural", I doubt the Dragonkin controll it. However, don't the anger weapons look like dragon?

@Lcool: Well, not in Belgium at least, last time I've heard of Dragonball Z or Pokemon etc was like 10 years ago, when I was in primary school.

  • 4 weeks later...

Don't let this thread go too far. :)

OT:

Really nice, I read it all.

The reason I answer somewhat late is because I wanted to do WGS before reading some spoilers.

I think mostly the same as you.

That dragonkin are waiting for an oppurtunity to get the stone of Jas back from Lucien.

Perhaps Lucien (being so powerfull) has already made contact with the dragonkin?

And we should probably learn more about the history of Guthix.

Because when he is pictured (except for mage arena in wilderness but if you examine that statue it will say that it might not be a good likeness), his head is pictured as a skull with a white glow/white hair.

So could this refer to the mahjarrat as wel?

As the mahjarrat have a skull for a head as well.

Jagex stated that there won't be a sequel to WGS soon but I'll be waiting.

1. I don't know if you've noticed, but the 8-point star of the DragonKin's symbol resembles a compass. (N,NE,E,SE,S,SW,W,NW).

West: Priffdinas

East: Castle Drakan

North: Penguin Iceberg

South: Ape Atoll

Center: Sea Slugs

Northwest: Lunar Isle (some Fremenniks found the Stone of Jas there)

Northeast: Castle ruins with Dragonkin symbol (Stone of Jas + compass rose)

Southeast: Sophanem (we saw the first Dragonkin cutscene there)

Southwest: Unknown (possibly Arposandra)

Maybe the elves, penguins, vampyres, monkeys, gnomes and slugs are allied with dragonkins. Penguins, gnomes, monkeys and slugs have plans about destroying humans.

The evil elves have claimed to King Lathas that they are going to summon the "Dark Lord".

Laufata ki Glough ki Ta Quir Priw Undo eso, tolly, gnomo kar is Glough hamo sarko pro Arposandra Qua!
Lauf is eye and the Stone of Jas is also called "eye of Saradomin" and "fist of Guthix". Maybe laufata means the Stone of Jas.

The magics I used to control those demons are mere trifles compared to what my masters can do.
Are the Dragonkins Glough's masters? Glouphrie could be Glough's master, but that would be only one master, not "masters".

If every Arposandran could summon a demon with such a powerful army the city wouldn't stay hidden for that long. It must be something behind this although I have no idea what.. .Dragonkin are too unlikely... Although experiments with Anima Mundi... Another part of the Stone? Like Fist of Guthix, Tower of Life(read dialogues - Guthix left what helped him create life with such ease!!!) Devious Minds relic(yes I didn't believe it too; the scenes and dialogues show it was part of a bigger artifact. Some more show possibility of it being that one... ). It seems even elf in MA found the source, which could be another part. Seemed unlikely for me but especially Homunculus and Effigy's dialogues... or whatever was the human called...

The demons are actually Gloughs pet demons.

Not THAT related to Dragonkin, but I found this to be an interesting find. When you talk to the Oracle, one of the available messages is:

oracle.png

This could mean that the Oracle either:

- Has some kind of mental connection to Guthix or Zaros

- IS Guthix or Zaros

Pretty unlikely, but possible?

If it is that about whether to wake up or not then it may look like this. But Oracle is known to be giving some future hints - and Guthix can't decide whether he wakes up or not - he relies on certain group of druids to conduct a ritual awakening him should the world be in war again. The group is being slaughtered, as we can read in WGS KB article(at least I assume they are those druids). Therefore, I'd rather say no.

But I started wondering about another thing... DKin are being shown after the Stone being stolen. But maybe it's just a red herring? Maybe they're waiting for Syzygy, just like Mahjarrat and Mother Mallum? MM waiting made me think it's just a source of energy. DKin:the power grows within me. The power resonates. Power of the space?

Syzygy

Gesundheit

But seriously.

Its possible that the power generated by sneezes isn't just limited to Mahjarrat, but can be tapped into by any creature with knowledge of how to do it. That said, the Dragonkin might try to do just that: intercept the power and destroy all the Mahjarrat at once (although I'm led to believe that the Dragonkin could wipe out the Mahjarrat even without the new power) then take the Stone and the Staff of Armadyl. And then we're boned.
