Partyhats are back.

Great news, though i doubt it will last- as someone clearly and very elaborately explained on the rs official forums a month ago, that because partyhat price range is stuck at 1%, merchants, who are only in the partyhat business for profit(and control atleast half of the market) will soon become tired of the endless waiting for the prices to update and realize that they could make so much more than +1% of their money a day by merchanting items that have a 5% price range.

 

 

 

3a crash? Don't know if this can actually be described as a crash rather than a slight panic and stupidity among some merchants and a general awe of 3a being traded for what just yesterday was considered as junk. At this moment partyhats are very nicely coinciding with 3a as i already had predicted. The 3a price drop has little to do with hats and is mostly because of it being sold with the worst of junk- spectral/arcane/elixir, pvp armor and dfh-s.

Can't see why anyone would want a pile of 300m cash sitting in their bank after they've purchased all the godswords, GWD armors, dfs, fury, all the rings, mage's book, etc. instead of a partyhat and some leftover cash.

Although you have a point on usefulness, you have to also look at several other factors.

 

 

 

First off, I'd bet that most people that own a party hat(s) already had most of the other items that you listed to go along with it.

 

 

 

Secondly, the prices for phats, and rares in general, generally only went up before the removal of pking and staking and their subsequent price crashes while the prices of the other items generally only go down. Once they finally hit bottom (this is possibly it), they should restart this gradual climb and become the most reliable long-term investment like they were before.

Selling as mid means they are neither going up nor down.

You don't get it :lol: . When a partyhat is actually sellable in less than an hour it is rising and yet since you don't know that you make the dumb first statement. Then you make this statment thats even dumber. I said my first statement the 3rd day of the rise then I said greens were dropping the 5th day and I never said they would keep rising. Please don't try to make up for dumb statements with dumb statements.

I never actually made a statement i just quoted you saying they were going up (when they were not according to the GE) and then quoted you again a day later admitting they crashed. I have not made any dumb statements at all.

When something sells at min and it takes 1 month then one day it sells at med in less than 1 hour it meens it's going up just like white partyhat. Only someone who had no idea about partyhats would say my post didn't meen they are going up. I don't know what you don't get about it... #-o :wall:

If something takes a long time to sell at low, and then suddenly it starts selling at med, it can generally be considered to be raising in price.

That statement is assuming that whites have been sold for less than the trade price in the past. Of course it might not make sense if a random person read it, but it is assumed that most people would know 'selling at mid' also means 'selling higher than it was selling before'.

 

 

 

Anyways, partyhats have opened up a new area of high level merchanting, some hours partyhats are being bought for cash, other times have partyhats being sold with junk and sometimes it can be the other way round.

I'm pretty sure all the serious investors have moved away from phats onto other stuff already because of the 1%/5% issue. There will be some people desperatly clinging on to the hope they will soar once again but I dont think they ever will, at least not in the time frame that an investor wants to see a decent cash return.

Exactly. I own a Red and White and all the items MadmanPur3 mentioned, except for all 4 Godswords, which would be pointless as Sara is the only one I really use. And the biggest reason I like Partyhats is their long term investment potential, anyone who read my post on the quitting/taking a break sticky will know why.

Mhm, that will more than likely happen. When it does, I bet the same series of events will happen again. Phats are reaching a half-decent buying price at the moment which is good.

 

 

 

BGS's? No. I personally wouldn't touch them and I'd be sure no-one in #Ge.M would, either. We could buy out them all but profit-wise they're not good short-med term. I rather keep to my bulk items as they = more profit & almost guaranteed no-loss. ;)

That's a smart investment. 3A will rise, again, No Doubt. This same thing will happen every now and again from the looks of it. Anyway, I'm glad there isn't items basically "frozen" in the market as no one wants to buy them because of there crazy price.

The spirit shields are frozen because of their crazy price sine it's not worth what they do. But they are about the only frozen item atm.

Um, there's 2 shields that have a street price below the market price, and the other 2 have a street price that's way above the market price...

I have 35, but 20 of them are already in the GE for a price (higher than the max atm so I can't take them out), I have 15 in my bank just waiting for the price to rise.

 

 

 

They always go up, once they reach the 18m-ish mark in GE at lowest they tend to shoot up to around the 22-23m mark usually. It's happened around 7 times since the GE has started.

3rd age wont sell at max, party hats arent rising as much as could hopefor, bgs is currently difficult to sell and ags is quite hot at the moment but will soon peak and come down again. heard rumors of a merchanting clan prehaps trying to lower it by about 10m
