Within a few hours partyhats, mainly purples and yellows, have changed direction - they cannot be bought for minimum price automatically anymore.

 

 

 

Haven't had a chance to pop on but based on the official forums, merchants (a few who are friends) are even offering 3rd age to the deal.

 

 

 

What do you think will happen next? I personally believe that greens, reds and whites are going to be bought out soon although i am not too sure on blues (blues have always been slow moving).

Never check the GE for prices on Party Hats you need to use the forums, and no there not all crashing, atm yellows, whites and purples seem to be going up again, loads of people are buying them.

I don't know, but I've seen ALOT of people with party hats that are apparently going up in W2.

He's not tryna get people to buy his lol, i've seen a few people offering 3rd age aswell though atm it's just things like vambs. Not to sure if the others are going to follow suite quite yet but it'll be nice to see partyhats back in demand and not being used as junk :P

A few things if i were to sell my own:

 

 

 

- I'd be at the back of the line in the grand exchange anyways

 

- I wouldn't post here to 'advertise' my partyhats

 

- I would have sold them by now as people want them :P

 

 

 

As for why, I'm guessing people are in a stage of panic, which has always happened in the past when partyhats randomly crash or rise - haven't seen this in nearly a year heh..

Wow it's probably true indeed. Very strange though, many people have been complaining how hard p hats are to sell and keeping them at min price for months. I wonder whether this is just the market or price manipulation.

Then again, this shows (some) people are just merchanting, so they will definitely drop again sooner or later when all those merchants want to sell them again. (Probably the first minor price drop.)

even if people want them it will be only merchants to manipulate them

 

no one needs partyhats these days with all the other stuff to spend money on, sure the blue party hat is an extreme mark of wealth but all others i just look over, the Elysian spirit shield is at the moment above yellow and purple phat prices and the Divine spirit shield is above purple, as well as most 3rd age pieces having insane value

 

this is just manulation and not a demand for burger king hats

I suggest keeping yours. Within a month, they'll skyrocket as merchants will be hording them. Then on New Years, their prices are gonna fall again.

He's not lying. Purples have been hinting at going up for the past few weeks now. More and more people are buying them, and they've usually sold within a day or so of being in the GE.

 

 

 

It's pretty natural for the price to overshoot when adjusting.

 

 

 

Supply and Demand of party hats exist. Just because the demand is lower than the supply doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it just means the equilibrium is too high. The equilibrium will adjust itself to the right point. Likely, it will also overshoot a bit, meaning it'll "bounce back" a bit. The most probable outcome now is that party hats will, one at a time, resume their slow climb. Which in all honesty, is how they should be. They're trophy items, items that don't have any value besides being rare. Their value should remain generally in proportion to the value of money, unless another factor comes into play.

I'm suprised 3 Hit U didn't post this he made a thread everytime partyhats dropped a few months ago back when they never moved. Party hats are coming back because the sheer amount of 3rd age that is now on the open market that people are trying to sell Spirit Shields with and such. So basically 3rd age is not that rare anymore and since Partyhats can't be increased in number they will always be rare and will always rise. This has been going on for 2 days now I'm suprised noone posted it and I didn't post it because I felt it wasn't too important. Purple started it now yellows are being sucked in. The white partyhat has always been the stable one of the higher partyhats. But I imagine that they will become in demand by cost due to the fact merchants like to spend alittle on a lot of items. It only took 2 days for purples to run out on the open markert and I imagine yellows will run out faster. Watch them closely and buy soon if you want one.

ok here we go, first off its true party hats are on the rise as many of us are buying them out. Third age crashed you can get it pretty easily on the ge. If people are smart they will try and buy a party hat soon.

And through this time I never managed to sell my green.. and I attempted it a few times but took it off the ge within days.. glad I did..

 

 

 

Now to just get a bit more cash for more if they're really going to be worth something again..

What was the point of your post and quoting mine? 3rd age is not as rare as partyhats and that was proven when people became desperate to sell their partyhats, the spirit shields, and trying to upgrade/downgrade for other 3rd age. The fact that p hats rose was because purple got so cheap it was well worth buying 3 of them and having other merchants buy them to price manipulate. Also people don't trade much 3rd age for 3rd age these days it's all going to buying/selling items as a rare add on. Since 3rd age is ge buyable within 2 weeks now I don't see it rising anymore. But partyhats will always be a great item to invest in because no matter what there will be no more and with people like laura who buy one a quit well theres 1 less out there that could be on the open market. It was only a matter of time before 3rd age failed with masks and partyhats returned to the investers toy.

And another friends in world 2 merely attempting to trade a 3a kite + cash for a yellow.
