Why did you join a clan?

It's a question that ultimately drives us all.

Did you join to make friends? PK? to try out clanning?

I joined wanderers originally to make friends and have some pk buddies.

Was talking to a guy about pking while we were training next to each other, and he told me that his clan holds pk trips and get lots of kills because they go together and are pretty good, so he censor evaded and told me their website, and I haven't looked back since :P ended up becoming active on runescapecommunity after I joined them and so I've always found pking clans on their forums.

Curiosity initially... I got into an argument with White Jaguar in April 2002... she was leading Clan Jaguar and we met over on the karmaja fishing docks late 1 night. It was just the 2 of us. I laughed at her when she threatened to blacklist me. But then we kept talking and I felt she started talking to me sincerely and I got hooked. You needed 60 combat to join Jagz those days but I barely got in with my 50 combat and 50 noncombat cooking skill lmao! I was scammed countless times by strangers in the game at that point and I felt I was able to trust their advice on playing the game. After that point, I started recruiting whoever I trusted personally into Jagz and before I knew it, I was leading :P

For me at that time, it really boiled down to trust... both trusting in others and when you speak, clan members sincerely listen to you and give you constructive criticism... surround yourself with 'yes' people you know they're not being sincere :P that's what hooked me I guess

I remember old tipit runescape site had a page with clans listed (sabres, the, gladz, bk, deathcorps, cimmeria etc...) and the last clan listed was Clan Jaguar... Always liked that and it made it easier for random people to apply to join since tipit runescape was by far the top site that offered guides... there were others but it was probably the sheer popularity of tipit... many thanks to whoever listed clan jaguar there years ago

I've always relished the role of playing the villain.

Somebody had to do it, so I did. It's not quite the same, as the lines of "good" vs "evil" have really changed a lot over time, but it was always fun.

Plus, I like being in charge. I can follow orders fine, but I've never really been a member of a clan, aside from the RS Mob.

well, I was away from RS for an extended period of time, a couple years, and when I came back I was browsing through the RHQ forums and came across the clan section, and decided that would be neat to try.

So I did. :P and my first clan, RRSA, was very nice to me, I just recently left to co-lead a new one xD

main reason I left was because of falling activity levels in the RRSA, and of course, as soon as I leave, they become uber active again, all kinds of new updates and stuff :wall:

just the way the cookie crumbles I guess.
