jetset516
What are the best skills to increase with money? I'm working on my cooking. I realized the spread between buying raw sharks and selling them cooked is relatively small, so I can buy my way to 99. Yes I realize there's many who don't agree with doing this...But, I've been playing for what feels like forever, and I have no 99's. Plus, I've accumulated a bank full of stuff...full dragon, guthans, godsword, etc...I have everything I want to buy PLUS I have 12 million cash. SO I figure I'd work my way up with skills with my $$. Suggestions? Preferably something where I'm not COMPLETELY wasting my money but I'm open to it.
Amaranth_GTO
99 prayer is a good one, and it's useful! It requires a lot of money though.
3hitm4g3u
If you're just doing it for the hell of it get fletching. If you care what people think then I would recommend firemaking. Out of the 'nooby' buyable skills this one would get you less criticism then say cooking or fletching.
stormveritas
Construction is extremely expensive but amazingly useful. Even if you aren't going for a 99, it's great to get your own altar, teleport rooms, armor repair stand, wardrobes, etc.
obfuscator
Herblore is really awesome to have, but it will cost far more than 12 mil. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti

Kietaro1
Some buyable skills such as firemaking and fletching I will admit that it is worth buying the materials. Cooking however is not one. With the Kingdom of Misc, you have the opportunity to make money leveling cooking. I suggest using that to your advantage. It is my opinion that having a 99 is not worth it unless you have 2 for the trimmed cape and better bonuses. As such, my suggestion would be to level fletching while waiting for your kingdom to amass a good bit of fish, maybe 2 weeks worth. Then collect your supplies and cook away selling the finished product for nearly double what you paid for them. Using this method you could potentially break even or maybe even make a small profit while leveling these rather easy skills. You could even invest in maple logs alongside the fish to level firemaking as well :P Herblaw.... there is no point in power leveling this skill unless you just want respect which is pointless anyway. Crafting, use battlestaves and buy seaweed and get your sand on a daily basis. Using superglass make every week, then crafting those into orbs, and making all of my battlestaves every week nets a nice amount of otherwise expensive crafting experinece. It isn't the fastest crafting experience but it is a way of leveling it with a profit. Range is technically buyable with Chins or Cannonballs and cannonballs is more cost effective. Ice Trolls will make a profit on average. Chins will be a loss no matter where you try to use them, unless you hunted them yourself of course. All other buyable skills, in my opinion are not worth the money that you would be spending to level them. Hopefully i have helped.

Everyonedies
from what i herd you can buy 99 firemaking for about 3mil...Thats got to be the cheapest buyable 99. You would still have 9mil left over to work on another skill. http://www.clanhavok.net/

True, but it's slightly slower than the other skills because you have to click twice for each log (once on log, once on tinderbox), unlike fletching, where you only have to click three times per inventory (once on logs, once on knife, once to select "All"). reignofury
Fletching is by far the least expensive 99 for one u can buy ur string and logs and still make a profit...about 1 mil from 74 to 99 at least by my calcs... or u can buy ur flax and spin it urself... might as well get some easy crafting exp while ur at it plus by buyin the flax u make a huge profit the yew longs do buy fairly quick and u can get 99 off of less than 80k of them... just my opinion and i am personally going for it now...wish me luck

jetset516
Thanks for the replies. Fletching sounds the best. At least I'll recoup (some of) my $$ back. what I dont get is how people say cooking isn't worth it. Right now between buying raw, then selling them cooked (sharks) I almost break even. Once I'm 94 or so I'll switch to sea turtles which will actually net a profit! But maybe I'll look into fletching... @ regionfury...which kind of logs are you fletching? Yew? Amaranth_GTO
People say cooking isn't worth it because it's a relatively easy 99, and has very little use after you get the cape. If you need food, most people, master chefs included, will just buy it cooked: it saves time and money. Also, 99 cooking is the easiest or second easiest 99, so people tend to look down upon people with cooking capes.
Smavey
Yeah I'd spend it on summoning - imo having a cool pet or familiar following you around >>>>>a skillcape

Hopefully i have helped. while i was mem (idk if this is true or not) i heard 2 people talking about games knecklaces breaking even or even comeing close to profiting. many people sell sapphires and cosmics at lowest ge cost so id think it might be actually true. craftings great on p2p anyway cause even after you are 99 you'll still use it. which cant be said for anything above other then herblore (expensive like others have said). range is nice but you need around 90 to actually make the cost worth doing them. last note on crafting: nice thing about this is banking the hide when dragon hunting, crafting and then selling which could get you to 200m xp fast+money xturtx - range tank:
xSxqPowerx
You don't have nearly enough to "buy" a skill :P I don't count fletching or cooking since they're incredibly cheap, even the fast way. I only count firemaking if you use magic logs, maybe yews. Herblore, prayer (although you have to buy it pretty much), and construction are probably the best examples, and you can get well over 300k exp/hour in those skills. Crafting is fairly fast and somewhere in the middle for cost - 240k(?) exp/hour, and about 70m.
Central_Keeper
Firemaking, cooking and fletching is usually good. I just burn willow and trout, and they give me good result. Being said, burn maple and cook lobbies are probably another way of making the process faster. Other than those ones, other skills tend to cost abit more cash. For the most part, even if people said those are cheap skills, it wont matter, its still xp and skillcape overall. Otherwise anyone who play after 2006 to 2007 are considered non pro since alot of update makes training alot easier, or anyone play after RSC is not good enough because it was harder back then. You can always get the materials yourself and get all the skill to lvl 99, by the, the benefit is probably you would save alot of cash enough to buy full set of phat.... a happy Runescaper
