The Dexter Thread

Featured Replies

Well, since Tip.it didnt have a Dexter thread I thought i would kick one off.

I have been watching Dexter for several months now and I have to say it is one of my

favourite shows. Im only halfway through season 2 :wall:

This is a open discussion, it is not constricted to anything specific.

But just as a starter...ShowTime said that they have 5 seasons planned, any speculations,

ideas, favourite moments within the current seasons, etc...

As a last note, if you do need to reveal spoilers please hide them

e.g

[hide=Spoiler alert]DOAKES DIES[/hide]

Please people, dont let this thread fail...

I've watched an episode or two, but Dexter is too creepy for my liking.

DL'ing the one that aired last night right now

I don't have a preference for any of the seasons. I like all of em. This show is consistently awesome.

It even has one of the best intros ever

Dexter is a cool guy, eh has a lab and doesn't afraid of anything.

I watched the first season of it, and then sorta forgot about it. Good show though, and when I get the time I intend to pick up where I left.

Am I the only one who thought it was some sort of spin-off of Light from DN?

I was always wondering what they were going to do for the third season,

In season two, the main plotline is Doakes being on Dexter constantly and it was a little weak...

hipefuly the next season will be better.

Only bothered with the books, honestly. It shows on Hallmark here, which automatically makes a show bad.

Amen, brudda (referring to the 10th commandment)

That's impossible.

Oh man you're missing out. It's not STRONG, but interesting how things worked out for Dex this season

Yeah, I thought the beginning of this seasons was pretty weak compared to the first two, but it really picked up. It has definitely turned out interesting this last episode.

In season 2, he dodged alot of bullets, became too repititive, almost predicatble,

he just kept on getting into something deep, and WHAM, in a 5 minute scene 2 episodes of build

up is quickly overcome...

Dragonsoon: The series are great, the first pretty much follows the book but is a bit better. However the second and third series don't follow the books at all. I still prefer the second book to the second series but thought the third book wasn't that great at all while the third series had maintained the high standard the previous two series have set out.

Talking about most recent episode (311 i think):

[hide=]The beginning of the episode surprised me but I should have guessed really. I think it was a bit of an anti-climax in the end getting Miguel, however we don't know how he will dispose of him yet and what will happen with the skinnerand stuff. I trust it will all wrap up well in the last episode next week.[/hide]

Oh and Rita is so so very fine.

I read something about this show a while ago, and it sounded really good. I talked about it with my collegue, she didn't like it too much. it wasn't as interesting as the cover makes it out to be. I think I'll take a t.v. serie sampler with me tomorrow, it has got the first episode of this show on it. I also really like Michael C. Hall, who plays dexter. I think he's really good in Six Feet under.

She never really has all that great of a role. In the Buffyverse she sired Angel so you would have thought she would be more important than she was. In Rambo she played a cliched "useless female" character. Same for Punisher: War Zone. In Dexter her character is interesting but seems like she has nothing new to add.

If I remember correctly the pilot is a good indicator of how much you will like the rest of the series. Not like some shows with an amazing pilot but then gets weaker, and not a weak pilot but turns out a good series.

Quit Runescape... Dec 2001 - Jan 2008 on and off... mostly off.

what's it about I may watch it.. always see it on never actually watched it though

Saifzman.png

It's about a sociopathic person with a difficult father-son relationship who has perfectly masked his life & his obsession. He is obsessed about killing people.

His father who was a cop, decided that instead of having his son locked away in some institution for all his life, he should direct his madness towards catching criminals (almost always murderers, he also kills some other people like pedophiles in S2 though) who escaped punishment. So he taught Dexter a list of rules called the "Code", the first rule of which is "No matter what you do in life Dex, don't get caught"

Personally, I think it's a fantastic series. It also has a classy selection of latino & spanish songs, horror tunes etc.. Good plots, and a pretty creepy show overall. Watch season 1 to get a good taste, it has 3 seasons so far (last episode airing in a week).

It's not an overly 'serious' show at all, it has a twisted dark humorous side to it, plus the main character Dexter is very modest & humble, not some pompous idiot or a typical psycho who shuts himself from the outside world. Nobody around him has any idea of his real identity.

Just waiting to see how Season 3 pans out...

BTW did you know that Frank Lundy is actually 30 years older than Deb ?

Thats some weird [wagon] [cabbage].

Decent finale, although it seemed a little bit rushed imo. Did anyone else notice George King as an extra at the wedding?

iteme3721.jpg

I thought the finale was a little lame. If they ended the season after episode 11 then it would have been cool. 12 was kind of just an epilogue.
