December 13, 200817 yr If you could live forever would you want to? Why or why not? I definitely would want to live forever because it gives me an opportunity to quench my thirst for knowledge fully. I would be able to read every book and witness every moment in history. It might be saddening to lose loved ones along the way, but it's just an overwhelming opportunity to pass down. Edited because humans already have the ability to use 100% of their brains.

December 13, 200817 yr No way, I always thought too much of something only causes problems - no matter what that something may be. Plus I'd have a hard time living that long without my good looks. ;)
December 13, 200817 yr Only if I could start 2000 years ago so I can actually witness the historical events I've read about.
December 13, 200817 yr What are the conditions? Do I grow old and have absolutely no energy, living in a hospital bed for all eternity? Or would I simply just stop aging at a certain point. If I would stop aging at around, say 30-40 then yes I think I would want to. Also would I be invincible? Like would I be able to be killed by someone else?
December 13, 200817 yr I'd rather have time and relationships be meaningful than infestimally meaningless. I definitely would want to live forever because it gives me an opportunity to quench my thirst for knowledge fully. I would be able to read every book, witness every moment in history, and who knows I might even be able to operate 100% of my brain someday and figure out the mysteries to life. It might be saddening to lose loved ones along the way, but it's just an overwhelming opportunity to pass down. You don't use 100% of your brain already? Beer

I'm not sure if I would want to, I'm wary of death because it is lifes biggest unknown but who knows how I'll feel about it in 50 years time.
December 13, 200817 yr I don't, but I would like to live for a long time, say, 1500 years. I don't think that I would be able to stand life after that. ~ W ~
December 13, 200817 yr i'd do it if i stopped aging between 25 and 40. that'd just be sweet, i'd be able to learn whatever i wanted, i'd have time for everything i wanted, i'd be able to do whatever i wanted and blahblahblah. yes. i would. December 13, 200817 yr Yes but eventually I would think somebody would want to kill themselves with so much information and so many things happening to you. If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Hahaha, people still believe in this spare tire waiting to be mounted to our brains, just waiting for us to become ultra-knowing? Sorry guys, but you're already using 100% of your brain. There's not much more to this life, and living for centuries in order to perfect oneself sounds like a ridiculous idea. That's why i'm gonna live hard 'n die young \
December 13, 200817 yr The myth that humans only use 10% of their brain (or like some say, 1-3%) is just that, a myth http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=peo ... t-of-brain The myth's durability, Gordon says, stems from people's conceptions about their own brains: they see their own shortcomings as evidence of the existence of untapped gray matter. This is a false assumption. What is correct, however, is that at certain moments in anyone's life, such as when we are simply at rest and thinking, we may be using only 10 percent of our brains. "It turns out though, that we use virtually every part of the brain, and that [most of] the brain is active almost all the time," Gordon adds. "Let's put it this way: the brain represents three percent of the body's weight and uses 20 percent of the body's energy."
December 13, 200817 yr I wouldn't. after awhile life would get boring especially if Humanity whipes itself by accident and it turns out your the only one left and you can't die. Wongton is better than me in anyway~~
December 13, 200817 yr Author The myth that humans only use 10% of their brain (or like some say, 1-3%) is just that, a myth http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=peo ... t-of-brain The myth's durability, Gordon says, stems from people's conceptions about their own brains: they see their own shortcomings as evidence of the existence of untapped gray matter. Yes I just read into this and it seems I've been proven wrong, but I still stand to it that I'd like to live forever in order to gain a wealth of information.
December 13, 200817 yr Hmm, forever? No Until the end of life on earth or accessible life in other places? Yes If you lived forever, you would be forever floating in space, after everything is gone and everyone is dead. [iNSERT "I R EATIN TEH SHIX ATM" BILL COSBY SIGNATURE GIF HERE, LOL]
December 13, 200817 yr Author Hmm, forever? No Until the end of life on earth or accessible life in other places? Yes If you lived forever, you would be forever floating in space, after everything is gone and everyone is dead. So you think the human race will face complete extinction someday? Would you yourself be able to evolve into a self reproducing organism?
December 13, 200817 yr If you cut yourself EXACTLY in half both halfs have to live right? Pureprayer, you're awesome.
December 13, 200817 yr I still stand to it that I'd like to live forever in order to gain a wealth of information. Same here, but I'd probably need some heavy brain modification or antidepressants if I had to outlive everyone I know & they couldn't share an eternal life. People go crazy enough in a decade if all their close relatives and friends die; I don't want to know what a wreck such a human would be after 100-200 years of being practically 'alone'. If you think of it, nothing in life matters if other people besides you don't exist (although I realize if your relatives died, there would still be billions of people alive). Without other humans, all you're left with is materials and objects.. How long can you spend time with machines, knowledge and gadgets until you'd realize how pointless it is, if nobody is there to share your experiences and discuss their own opinions
December 13, 200817 yr I would like to live forever, but only if it made people happy. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

If I were to live for an infinite amount of time, any period of time less than infinity, would be infestimally small in comparison. Other things around me wouldn't matter because I know they won't have any lasting mark in comparison to my existence. It would be one very lonely eternity. Beer
December 13, 200817 yr It would be interesting to see everything evolve and change through time, but once you miss your generation your all alone practically. I would really rather die, but that's because I believe in Euthanasia anyway O.o Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)
December 13, 200817 yr Only if some hot girl my age could live forever too ;) That's why you're on the TZDF blackdawn. Even your balls can tear zombies to shreds.
