Christmas Dinner; Years Best Meal?

Featured Replies

Well, my person fave part of christmas isn't the presents, its the christams meal (not sure if non-christains have the same kind of dinner so i can't say anything else).

In my house, we pull out all the stops, eat at much as you can untill you burst, no chance you'l run out.

But it isn't just the food, its the atmoshphere around the table at christmas, everybody's happy, usually have grandparents there too, my dad telling us to put on our party hats from the crackers, christmas music playing the in back-ground from the 20 year old christmas cd my dad plays EVERY year.

Probably seems like a really random topic but its what ive really been looking forward too for christmas.

Just some googl'd pictures for examples for eople who don't have this meal (you really should!):

Love holiday meals. But I always eat less than I brag about. It sucks.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I love when we have turkey... hate it when we have ham. The actual meal itself is nice because everyone is together for one of the few times of the year. My favorite part has always been the presents though. Call me materialistic but I always get so excited seeing a mountain of presents under the tree. I like giving just as much as receiving them though. Gifts = Happy faces. O:)

I've never actually has a christmas meal without turkey. Was great one year when we had turker AND beef though, plus the pigs in blankets every year make my mouth water.

My gramma never makes ham, because I don't eat ham. My gramma is really nice, she's very tolerant.

Yes, Noche Buena is usually the best. I hate my dad right now, but I love my parents' cooking.

The Eleventh Commandment:Thou Shalst only say "Amen, brother".

Amen, brother

Amen, brudda (referring to the 10th commandment)

amen Bruder! (german ftw)

That's impossible.

Mmmmm Christmas food. The reason why I bought my cross trainer BEFORE Christmas Day. Had to get a heads start

The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

I love christmas food, we've the traditional Turky, Ham and stuffing but also some more random food such as Sausages wrapped in bacon, Thai prawns (huge as prawns go) in chilli sauce, Dublin bay scallops in white win sauce etc. We eat so much starters that they'res always some Turkey left over.

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

Yeah, I love the presents too. Just the excitement. Plus it's one of the few times of the year when the whole family can keep a secret for several months. I made my brother's girlfriend open all her gifts from us today, because she isn't going to Dallas with us. I got something from my awesome, record studio-ing, motorcyclist uncle, and it's bound to be awesome.

Can't wait, since Christmas Eve is a six-hour drive to Dallas, then just some chilling, and then the second-longest night of the year (after day before school; I'm taking some NyQuil with my for that reason), and theeeeen Christmas. Gonna be great. If I get any Xbox games, though, I won't get to play them until we get back Saturday.

I think we are getting too old.

But is there really such thing as Christmas Crackers with paper hats in them irl?

[iNSERT "I R EATIN TEH SHIX ATM" BILL COSBY SIGNATURE GIF HERE, LOL]

Sweet dressing is the reason for christmas. Getting hungry just thinking of it.

Oops. I read that as "notice the classic cracker party with the bald guy". Then I saw the picture with the white family. Was about to post a heaty post asking why on earth you would use the word, then caught my mistake. No more skimming threads for me.

Anyway, my mom makes traditional Pakistani foods on Christmas and my grandma and dad make Pakistani and Portugese sweets, so we end up with a fantastic tradition-filled meal. My dad makes this really good dessert called Bibic (BEE-bik) which is made mainly of eggs but is insanely better than a brownie or anything similar. It's a sort of a small cake that is cut into pieces and served. Way better than when my mom tries to imitate white people meals for Thanksgiving and ends up with oddly flavored yams

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

Meh, my family doesn't have any big meal or whatnot for Christmas. We all just stay home, make whatever we want to eat, and mind our own business.

=P~ I do look like that every christmas when I see the food! I can't wait till tomorrow as chirstmas night with dad's family always has great ham that I eat till I can't get up for more , mum's side on boxing day usually has chicken, which I also eat till I can't get up for more.

Whatever is edible it's my best meal.

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Ham/salmon/Waffles. We make them for lunch.

I don't even usually like the food we eat, but the Chocolate Mousse =P~

Doomy edit: I like sheep

A MASSIVE slab of corned beef, potatoes, pumpkin, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, beans, that's when most of the family is together (Grandparents, etc), and then we head up on an hour + half trip to Townsville wear we have a barbecue on the Strand with my cousins and everyone else who couldn't make it down for tea.
