Those moments in gaming

You know what im talking about, You're in halo 3 about to headshot this annoying, whining 11 year old when BOOM your disconnected or there's a power failure or your smack dab at the end of a boss fight you pause the game, you return to find the controller in your younger siblings hands and your character dead.

 

 

 

It happened to me once, i was playing the legend of zelda ph for ds, i had just collected the rest of the golden ship parts (about 4), beat the maze on expert (Got a heart container) and managed to beat a dungeon, I am about to save when all of a sudden my ds crapped out on me because it wanted charging, Im shocked because i was sure i had plugged in the adapter but i see the plug lying there on the bed and then i realize that my 4 hours have been wasted, i haven't touched the game since

 

 

 

Has any of the above ever happened to you when your hours of hard work got wasted because of one mishap whether it be younger sibling, angry mom who turned off the console,losing your memory card,controller crapped out on you,lag, or some other freakish situation which caused you to lose your data

Sometimes, like on GH 3 I just couldnt beat this one song (I forget which one) but after tons and tons of tries I finally beat it and it goes to the encore. I fail about halfway in so I just turn my xbox off and it doesnt save. I did the the next day to. :wall:

I find it's most annoying on strategy games, I hate having to build up armies and such from scratch again. I remember doing the final battle on Age of Mythology when the power went. My last save was 30 minutes back too :/.

Final Fantasy on the SP. I spent hours training my people so I could defeat this one boss and all it took was a knock from my sister's hand for it to crash :(

I spend what seemed like hundreds of hours getting through the game, getting to the last boss. I'm at the last boss and, somewhere along the road of my day at school, I lose the GBA and it gets stolen.

My wii and 360 have both failed on me today >.<

 

i was doing the special cup on the mirror cup on mario karts wii, trying to get a star (i want rosalina O_o), id won all the others by a ton after many failed attempts, and it was near the start off the last lap wheres theres the 2 holes in the center of the track (people who have played it will know what i mean :) ), well my wii decided it would be funny to turn off, kinda annoying >< ive still not managed to get substantial leads on the first 3 again :o

 

 

 

And i just had a classic controller disconnection earlier on halo 3, annoying though cus i was on an 8 kill streak and wanted meself a killing frenzy O_o

Ugh, back when I played Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, my Gamecube was having this problem where it would simply stop working after ~15 minutes.

 

I didn't know it was a serious problem, I thought it would only happen once...So I kept playing. Each Cup took about 20 minutes (I think?), so I would get the error pretty close to the end.

Earlier today I was playing Left 4 Dead with a bunch of mic-less people. My dad needed to see the reception on the TV because of a thing he's working on, and all my comrades ran ahead of me. At the time I didn't know how to go idle and let a bot take over, so I just hid in a room. When I flipped back to the game, I was being constricted by a smoker with all my teammates too far away and unable to hear me. I was literally Left 4 Dead.

But yeah i used to have a really dodgy router which just lost sync every so often (30 minutes was on a good day). So i'd be playing any game online and the connection would just go....

 

Really damn annoying. Especially in tournament matches :o.

Did everything in Resident Evil 4, got 5 stars in every mercaniries (sp?) all weapons, beat everyhting and did everything needed to be done. Some jack goes and steals my memory card.

Final fantasy tactics advance. I was at the last fight, my turn and I was one attack away from killing the boss. Just when I selected the attack my batteries died. After that I didn't play it for awhile. My GBA was stolen soon after.

 

 

 

One time on Chrono Trigger (which not like I haven't beat the game hundreds of times before) I just got done beating magus but didn't save and the power went out just after the fall of zeal. Though the boss fights were all 1 hit kills for me and it was just a minor annoyance.

I beat Cod WaW on my PS3, as I always do, I keep the game running and don't save until the very end. Saving game, freezes. All my work lost.

What, no stories of nearly drop kicking your sibling across the room, through the sliding glass door and onto the [bleep]ed fence outside because they deleted your perfect game save? That's what I was hoping for.

 

 

 

For me it's GBA. I tended to use those powerpacks because I would go through batteries too much and ordinary rechargables would get lost too easily. Anyways, those things broke very easily, or at least in my hands they did, so after a month or so the plastic hooks holding them in place always snapped, signalling for you to break out the ducktape. The point of the story is that after nearly beating a Megaman game during a long car ride down to Florida, starting from halfway, I go to get out of the car, with GBA on and in hand, when my hand accidentily hits the door frame. I hear the dreaded *pop* of the game losing and then regaining power, only to think of how far I had gotten. Half of me died that day, then grew back when I re-did what I had just done, only better, in less time, and gets more secrets and such. But then again, I could have done all that on my second playthrough, which would've gotten me much, much more.

I had beaten Pokemon Silver and was well on my way to catchin' 'em all. My bro wanted to play for a bit, so I let him start a new game and walked a way for a bit. I come back and find him gone and the game off. Turn it on. I'm just outside of New Bark town with a level 5 Totodile.

Why didn't you tell him not to save?!? That's the first thing you ever say to anyone before letting them play a Pokemon game. Or they could start making more than one save file.

Nearly is such a small word, I must have missed it. If it makes you feel any better I did it by challenging him to a game of Soul Calibur 2. And then getting a ring out on him.

 

 

 

And I did tell him not to save, but it turned out he went to the bathroom and saved anyway.
