Games Franchises that Should Give Up

And that's because you haven't played a game the way I described.

And that is the only problem I have with the series. You pay full price, but I think it should only be like $20-$30. Other than that they're awesome.

And why the hate on Reach? We don't even know what it IS yet.

There have only been a select few in that genre I have liked, and most were 007. I only liked those because of their single player, although the multiplayer wasn't bad.

I agree that the prices are too high, though, but most games are ridiculously overpriced, anyway.

As for Reach, I don't know anything about it, so I have no opinion right now.

Each Halo game is different.

LOL.

And comparing 'Halo' to 'Mario Party' is stupid.

Mario games have varied from simple side scrollers to space spinning crap :wall:

Tony Hawk. They're good games and everything but there's only so much you can do with a skateboard.

Guitar Hero needs to be stopped before they kill it.

Same with The Sims.

Tony Hawk games usually suck but Project 8 and American Wasteland were really good games.

GH is dumb, World Tour is a whole band yet its still GH.

Sims fails at making games. They purposely leave really needy things out of the game so the next one people will buy.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

No Final Fantasy?

OMG, the balls! :shame:

Final Fantasy should NEVER be stopped as long they keep going the way they are, if the quality of the game start degrading then I might agree with you, but the way it's looking now (FF13) I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Valve is milking Left 4 Dead.

What? They're releasing a single sequel. How is that milking? You may as well say they're milking Half-Life as well.

Honestly L4D did not at all need a sequel considering how Source games stay alive for so long (no pun intended, unless it's funny, in which case it was all on purpose and I'm a comedic mastermind.)

L4D2 does seem to be a pretty significant upgrade, I just think they should somehow combine the two. I also hate the new characters.

Bungie is seriously milking the Halo series since it came out in 2000. There have been more Halo games than any of Nintendo's first party characters games (In that 2 mario, or 2 zelda, etc). Bungie is up to 6 games since the company started. Valve is milking Left 4 Dead. EA milks all of their sports titles and the Sims.

Nintendo is not the only company that milks their franchises. ;)

Bungie released.... a whopping 3 Halo games. Halo Wars was created by a different developer.

Of course, Halo actually improved a lot between sequels than Mario Party ever had. I've played Mario Party from N64 up to Gamecube, don't tell me it has "varied" anything

Halo: The quintessential first person shooter. While the first would be known for bringing first person shooters to the mainstream, the others would also be known as "Great" and "Amazing" shooters. To a gamer like me, the only reason I play it is for the multiplayer. Like The Conduit, what the game lacks in campaign it makes up for in multiplayer. And yet, people praise the campaign. It's a bare bones shooter with nothing that distinguishes it from any other. There is no single feature that makes it different from others like Half Life. They continue to make them though. Mostly because of the roaring fan base of cussing ten year olds.

I hate how Halo is continued to be praised, even though if you actually have put the disk out of the tray and played other offerings, you would find it is a skeleton.

I still have yet to play a console game with a similar theatre feature and forge feature.

And the "10 yr old fan base" is a load of crap. I don't really play Halo anymore, but even then most of the people I'd play with at night are either college kids or even older. It was pretty rare for me and my friends (all of us 18 and older) to find a kid in the game. And when that happens, it is [bleep]ing hilarious because we'd mess with the kid pretty badly.

I don't understand why people think Halo should give up. Halo 3 is still the best selling game on 360 and is still the most played game on Xbox Live (Well it was last week). The franchise is far from dead.

That's what happens when you defend a company (ie Nintendo) so much that you're willing to spit out stupidity. It's sad really.

So because Halo is the bestselling game and has the most people playing online it should continue? Just because of that? There is a point where a popular franchise should quit, and I believe Halo should quit now. If they want to get more money, then they should do another game series.

Wow.

You call Halo the bestselling game, but think the way for Bungie to make more money is do another game series? Are you stupid?

This is funny coming from someone who can't even properly quit Runescape.

How is it NOT the way to make more money? Branching out could really help them. Focusing on 1 franchise too much will never earn you as much as having multiple successful franchises.

Halo is like the Sims FPS. They make things so people want them changed so they have another reason for another update, barely tweak the gameplay, make the graphics better.

Mario is dead.

And Shadow, how is that even relevent in any possible way?

And chances are you probably adopted the use of 'sad' in a demeaning manner from playing runescape or some other crappy MMO

I dont need a siggy no moar.

I didn't it wasn't a way to make more money. And Bungie is a small company so it can't churn out as many games as the other large companies. And Halo 3 sold something like 8million + copies, why focus on a different franchise when the one they already have is responsible for the 2 best selling games on the Xbox and 360.
