Which is worse?

They're both as bad as each other in different scenarios. In order to pick one or the other you'd have to add a scenario to it. In some circumstances one can be worse than the other and vice verser.

The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

Ignorant people can be educated but there is little you can do for the apathetic.

He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart,

and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.

- Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)

Ignorance isn't bad necessarily. After all, there's no possible way a human can know everything the rest of humanity collectively knows - there will be some gaps in knowledge.

Willful ignorance is something entirely different though. I call it arrogance, and I despise it.

Apathy? Depends what it's about. If someone was dying in front of me, and I was apathetic to the situation, I'd have a problem. That ad at the top of this page though? Couldn't care less.

I'd say ignorance. I don't care about a lot of stuff, just because it doesn't affect me or I can't do something about it. Or it is too much of a hassle to do that. If you worry about to many things you can't do anything about you go all stressy (at least that's what happens to me).
