warrior5024
When I realized none of my friends were boss hunting anymore (most of the good ones left) I got 85 mining. Making a steady 500k an hour now, on my own, pretty easily. One door closed, pried open a trapdoor. So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb. lagatag
Skills for earning decent money. I can make a couple mil a week on rune ores, but even that is a little luck in finding worlds with ores and no one else mining. Luck is definitely how you get insanely rich though
bronzewarrior
my current net worth is around 71-72m. i mostly merchant, it is some luck and is mostly skill. I have horrible luck when it comes to monster hunting so i don't really do it too much. well i was soul warring today and umm... when i got had an ags i had similar comments but more like BORROW NOOB, BARROW NOOB, LENDOR NOOB, LUCKY NOOB. one time i was at a bandos mass and all the 110+s like called me a borrow noob. I got super lucky with my specials and got the general kill. I yelled out "HILT!!!!!!" and i dismantled my ags and showed them the hilt. lawl. 2nd troll to 840+ post count. Sir_Kurity
Much of my money has come from luck (d chain from drop party) I'm not incredibly rich, but hey, good merchanting is more skill than luck, and it makes more consistent profit than most other methods when you have loads of money. SwreeTak
Skill. I have tested to rely on luck. I'm not a lucky person in RS. Really, I'm not. So I make my money by merchanting safe items, which are easy to sell and buy but you don't earn much on, or I make money by skilling. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
Blyaunte
Inasmuch as my "drops" and anything else reliant upon "luck" is notoriously awful, I have relied entirely on skill to make my money ... -.-
The Runar
The only time I made money was when I wanted to get 43-52 prayer. I hunted red chins for 3 hours, sold them 750 each, bought dragon bones and used gilded altar. But most of my money is from random things such as clue scrolls and randoms. I've also earned a nice amount from Hunter and Runecraft. But I play the game for fun, I don't make money. I never train the same skill more than 1 day in a row. That's probably why my total level is extremely high compared to my total xp. I'm very unlucky, I've only gotten three rune drops during my 3+ years of RS. Two rune scimitars from Fire Giants during the same slayer task and rune sq from a cockroach soldier. I usually don't have luck in party room either; however; I spent like 100k on my pure to get explorer's ring 3 and then bankers started yelling "1M drop in the party room" and I thought "why not?". I went there, and got 547 gold bars. I got 100k from them. My only lucky moment during my RS career -.- My best clue scroll reward was a Zammy Page from level 1 clue in 2007... sold it for 175k. And a year later it was 1M, dang. The Runar's (OSRS) DIY blog - most viewed Blogscape blog ever! Contract? /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
ieuanty
earning lots of money is always luck combat even though its just pure amazing profit a lot of the time and gwd isn't luck if you've gone thousands of times drops worthy of note: karils top slayer drops: 1 g maul 2 adamant boots

Libertherme
Every now and then I'll do the odd treasure trail, but I've never had anything decent. If I remember rightly, the last clue gave me a Rune Woodcutting Axe, Black D'hide Chaps and 20 Blood Runes. I earned the majority of my money through Slayer monsters - especially Turoths - and I could say I've made, getting my Slayer to 70, around 3,000,000gp. But of course, people often get extremely rare drops from bosses or get lucky with trials, my cousin found a Zamorak Blessed Dragonhide & a Saradomin Platebody! Lucky git!

phonixz666
i think money making plays a part in both because u need skill for some of the ideas but at the same time luck plays a big part for if the idea works or notn
The Dark Lord
Although I have never monster hunted (I want to though), I would have to say that luck is the best way to make money. Skilling is a nice, steady way to make money, but you can easily grow bored of the grinding. The cash is only good for making a few million GP. EDIT: I'm STRONGLY debating whether or not to sell my bandos chestplate to buy 90+ range for GWD. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on. meili
I agree with Punitive. I don't bother myself about gp, I just do whatever I want to do and now I'm rich (lil bit). The thing is, because I never grind and only do what I want to do (never mind about the "best" way to do it), I have played longer than most so this has naturally led to me acquiring a bit of wealth on RS. \ Bank pic here if you wanna see: viewtopic.php?f=78&t=778445 The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
