Sounds like a private server

Technically doesn't Runescape Classic only run on private servers right now? The two Jagex servers aren't open to the public, just a small group, so they're technically private.

I still stand by the fact that the majority will play classic cheat server once, get bored, and move on. The rest will make screenshots of themselves saying "Look I played during classic, and I wuz rich! n00b!"

Fake RSC elitism. Worse than people who do that that actually played classic.

I like more the idea of having a recognition of still being active on RSC, avatar or items on RS2 sounds great, but avatars are simpler so that's what I hope

Interesting idea.

Would kill macroers and perhaps private servers aswell.

Though, if it would happen, I'm afraid too many will whine for a RS2 version with cheats :ohnoes:

I like the idea of the RSC item on RS2, but I hate how it will be yet another Holidayish kind of item I will never have the chance to get.

I think its bad enough that I will never be able to try a scythe, Rubber Chicken, Bunny Ears or Yo-Yo. :(

If only I was a member at the time when they started closing RSC. :wall:

I like the idea of letting RSC be able to be played by all. But I don't like the idea of a cheat server only. Maybe they could make a server with no cheats, but only members who have been members with no breaks in membership for like 3-4+ years can play on it. Also no black marks. Then they could make another server for all the people who want to go crazy with cheat codes. I don't have any problems with the idea of an item only for the people who are loyal to RSC could get, even if I can't get it.

I loved playing RSC, I did much prefer the smaller communities and the friendlier players. Unfortunately during my first 'break' of this game (2005-2006), I didn't login to the game during the 6-month lockout phase. Lockout for me. <.<

personally, id love to play RSC ::'

Excuses are tools of incompetence that builds monuments of nothingness. Those who specialize in excuses never accomplish anything.
If the world does end on December 21, 2012, I want to be doing hot stuff with Megan Fox and/or playing Runescape :D

wow this would be very interesting...would definately give you a different style of play. But it would totally screw over those who worked hard to build up there classic accounts.

They said it would be a different game, eg: not connected to the RSC saved data.

I can't wait for the rants to come in on rsc.

"omg y is there no player owned houses"

"can't get out of combat for three turns. tis isn't what runescape waz liek"

"no eating or potting during combat? you runed rsc jagax"

I expect a proverbial [bleep]storm from people who claimed to play classic that will shoot themselves in the foot with a "I don't remember this being there" on something obvious like anything that was released with rs2 onwards not being in classic, or people complaining about 3-hit kills, no eating or potting in combat, etc.

And they could at least upgrade the chat system in classic so we can talk through games again. And put classic back on the front page.

Personally I would love it if RSC was actually opened to the public again.

The thought of battles between the "Classic Originals" and the "New Breed of Classic" (Which I am classified under) sends chills down my spine and only makes me want to play RSC more.

Oh, quit whining rs2'ers. If it wasn't for people like myself, playing from 01/02, then YOU would not have a runescape to play. You guys that did not play rs1 really missed out. The simplicity; the irony of the beauty of such a shoddy looking game made it unbelievably unique.

BlackKingX, you're not getting the point here. Rs1 players did not shun the game. A minority of botters, which turned into a majority unfortunately, ruined the game for everyone. There were still loyal players who did not macro. Albeit, if I'm being honest, I had been using AR 2.8 for quite a while when botting was low key and a private community. I'll admit that, but the fact remains that if rs1 had not gained the popularity it did, then you would not be on these forums as we speak.

I would like idea to open rsc again for public.

to minimize cheating they could add few conditions to be able to play rsc....

-old accounts (accounts that were made before rsc members)

-rs2 accounts that have over 100 combat and/or skill total 1xxx and quest points xxx (would minimize making new accs to play and random noobs joining)

they could atleast try it and if it fails, they could always apply "cheatcode" or "reset every week" server.
