Weekly Poll: Random Event rewards...?

xp lamp

I really hate the charm reward because the xp you can get from the charms is way less then the summon xp you can get from the lamp and on top of that it will cost you time an monies to use those charms.....must be jagex thinking behind this.

Oh, and about the costumes/emotes.....are they new? or are they just the same as the old ones i already have?

and @ link353510

I really dont understand your reasoning .......a couple of hundred xp in just a second sounds perfectly fine to me, and it usually is more then you can get from the other rewards. I spent the lamps on summoning: saves me from getting 2,5 crimsons, save me at least 2,5k gp's and 10 lamps safe me a trip to obelisk.

I've had five or six random events since the new format. I tried the XP lamp once, received something like 250 points, and have gone for herbs every other time. They've been worth at least 5,000 gold pieces, and over 20,000 on at least one occasion.

If the lamps were worth something like 1,500-2,000 every time, maybe I'd choose them. But if I'm raising a skill then 250 points is insignificant. I'm only combat level 90 and my other levels are consistent with that, but 250 points is a couple of fish, two easy monster kills, a few pouches, spinning a few flax - nothing that would take me more than a minute and a half as part of skill training. But 5,000-20,000 gp will definitely come in handy and if I specifically wanted it then it would take me at least three or four minutes to make it. Simple efficiency.

If I've just been burned by one lousy XP lamp, let me know - what do you get from an XP lamp usually?

You always get 10 x your level in that skill with the lamp. Which means that you used the lamp on a level 25 skill, or you got the experience wrong. :P But no, experience lamps will never give you more than 990 experience. Books of knowledge are slightly better: 15 x your level in the skill, for a max of 1485 exp.

hoo = who

loo = 100

vo = broken ice cream cone = sad children = sad babies = dead babies

bluehooloovo = sadwho100deadbabies = Who is sad about 100 dead babies?

I've cracked the code!

Thank you for explaining. I had another one a few minutes ago. The XP would have been a boost, of course, but not enough to put me close to another level in anything. I guess that will be my criteria. XP is worth it if it bumps me over the line for another level, or at least close to it.

In this case I could choose something like 350 gold (does anyone?), 15 coal ore (could be handy, but I've got a few hundred anyway), five gold bars (if I was crafting jewellery at the time...maybe), two uncut rubies (pretty good - worth over 4,000 - or again if crafting jewellery), two grimy cadantine (only worth about 2,300 but maybe if training herblore), the XP lamp, the mystery box, or the one I chose - five adamantite ores, worth about 5,400. I'm a sucker for the one I can get most money for \'

I tend to go (as almost everyone has said) XP lamp every time.... but I can't help thinking "what if" with the mystery boxes.....

Has anyone gone for that option and get anything good? I've tried it a couple of times but didn't get anything spectacular (mith scimitar for example).

I've tried it six times, I think: one steel platebody, three cabbages and two irrelevants (by which I mean stuff around the level of a bronze sword).

The best thing you can get from that is the Uncut Diamond (about 7k), you can also get 10 Bloods or 20 Natures.
