March 30, 200917 yr Maybe they did this because some people overused the freedom of speech, look at Denmark, they insulted The muslim's prophet and called it freedom of speech,it's ok to criticize religions, but keep it low, don't insult them,or make jokes about them, because religion is a very sensitive topic, and not everyone is prepared to hear something that doesn't go along with their beliefs.

Who cares if religion is a very sensitive topic? The Muslims are doing themselves a disservice by silencing all criticism for their religion. Long gone are the days of the Spanish Muslim culture that was once the greatest place to question authority, and serve as a center of learning.

Why? If it's a sensitive topic for some them then that's their problem not mine. We don't live in the dark ages anymore, I should be allowed to say 'I don't think your religion is right, I think that it doesn't make sense because...' and not get 'OMG ARRESTED' back. If something can't stand up to criticism... then what is it? I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator].
March 30, 200917 yr Beliefs shouldn't be shielded or else everyone would just blindly follow the first religion they learned about.
March 30, 200917 yr Doesn't mean anything. International law like this is rarely ever enforced, and I suspect that this will never receive enforcement except by the countries that wanted it passed. It's not like they allow criticism already anyway, this just enforces their ability to enforce it in their own countries. What's even scarier? People in a lot of the southern states value religion just as much as these Muslim countries: Well if you take an area that's been impoverished and only really had religion to hold onto for the past century, and compare it with another, you'll find similarities. Valuing religion isn't a bad thing. Defending it isn't bad either. People should just learn to accept criticism of it. But, until people can accept criticism for very, very slight things, like their shoes or something, they won't accept criticism for their religion. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

March 30, 200917 yr What happened to "within reason?" If the resolution was aimed at extreme, near genocidal (or the religious equivalent) 'criticism', I'd think it would be agreeable. For all criticism it's a bit much. Sort of lumps 'I think your religion is missing something on...' with 'I hate your faith, you are wrong and I will kill you unless you join mine' I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
March 30, 200917 yr A simple majority of 23 members of the 47-nation Human Rights Council voted in favor of the resolution. Eleven nations, mostly Western, opposed the resolution, and 13 countries abstained. Opponents of the resolution included Canada, all European Union countries, Switzerland, Ukraine and Chile. Isn't there 27 countries in the EU? :? [Edit] Maybe I should read what's in the links before saying that. I'll check. [Edit] Unless they count as one vote? :\ Matt: You want that eh? March 31, 200917 yr The church of scientology is gonna have a hay day with this.... But...but...their a cult. It would be interesting if Scientology tried to make the same approach. Oh well, I still got my freedom of speech. Not that I go as far as insult them. You can believe whatever you want to believe. I'm just might have different opinions/viewpoints then you. March 31, 200917 yr If anything, that^ is the kind of thing this is aimed at. [developmentally delayed] crap. that would be accurate, except for the muslims wanting to "slay those that hate islam" Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
March 31, 200917 yr 4chaners wanted to kill Scientologists. And, the person who made that poster has likely visited /b/ before. I don't know where I'm going with this. Double standard or something maybe. Two sides to every stone? Ah, I lost it. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
March 31, 200917 yr 4chaners wanted to kill Scientologists. And, the person who made that poster has likely visited /b/ before Actually the 4chan Anonymous Group protests were all surprisingly peaceful. OH S***! He/she/it is back!
March 31, 200917 yr If anything, that^ is the kind of thing this is aimed at. [developmentally delayed] crap. They still can't even think they can not let us do that. It may be stupid, but we have a right to do that as much as you have a right to ignore it. I told my friend about this. His response was the same as mine: "What the hell can the UN do about it?" "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
March 31, 200917 yr Actually the 4chan Anonymous Group protests were all surprisingly peaceful. Yeah, it was just the handful of crazies that ruined the fun, as always. I also would have to agree with the statement: What's the UN gonna do? Use all of its troops and might to stop us? Bwaha. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
March 31, 200917 yr If anything, that^ is the kind of thing this is aimed at. [developmentally delayed] crap. that would be accurate, except for the muslims wanting to "slay those that hate islam" Ideally, that kind of thing would be affected by it also. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
March 31, 200917 yr I display by attitude towards this law by repeatedly thrusting my genitals at the nearest priest. Command the Murderous Chalices! March 31, 200917 yr 'The council is dominated by Muslim and African countries. Its resolutions are not binding, but are meant to act as recommendations for U.N. member states on issues of human rights' So really, its just a reccomendation, nothing set in stone, and i would expect the member states of the UN, which aren't dominated by Muslim and African countries to straight out reject this. Thinking the other way around, couldn't this come back and bite these people on the arse, by brnging the heavy hand of the UN down on more public, hate crimes, by Islamist extremists. Bringing more countries into conflicts with Islamists. Want to be my friend? Look under my name to the left<<< and click the 'Add as friend' button!Big thanks to Stevepole for the signature!^

April 1, 200917 yr I display by attitude towards this law by repeatedly thrusting my genitals at the nearest priest. Priests are good. Your genitals are..... I have no idea where to go on with this. Get back here so I can rub your butt.
April 1, 200917 yr If anything, that^ is the kind of thing this is aimed at. [developmentally delayed] crap. Having different viewpoints is crap? Yes, Christianity and Islams is somewhat similar, but they are also very different. Case in point being, I will have different viewpoints then your religion. I don't see how my stand of this is "[developmentally delayed] crap." I don't go around trying to argue with them on their religion or anything of that sort. I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
April 1, 200917 yr Why do these people DEMAND special treatment. I don't see Christians or Jews doing these, even as a collective religion/group/community. I'd say the formation of Israel was pretty special treatment for them. Are you just anti semitic or ignorant ? The Zionist movement has been active for nearly, the last 200 years. Jews have been the most persecuted peoples in history. I always thought that Galilee and surrounds was, always their homeland. You do know that there are less than 15 million Jews right ? A third of which live on a small patch of land, as big as Taiwan. Where is the unfairness here ? Don't bring up the mandate.
