In a Hurry?!?!

I remember having the pleasure of speaking to some nice troops from the middle east and some others from Israel. They thought Australian's were weird because we were always in a hurry. They spoke rather slowly, while my friends and I were speaking rather quickly and even using slang which is the quicker way of saying normal words. Then we lost patience with them (lovely guys) but they were talking too slow for us to stick around! To be honest I think it's mostly just western cultures. A bit off-topic but if you want to read something interesting, read up on table manners and dinner conversations in different cultures. One thing I will never be rushed with is enjoying my time out. I refuse to be told to hurry up, eat quicker, walk faster etc Whenever Brent tells me to hurry up, I purposely take my time. I rather like enjoying my walks and leisure time slowly and am a firm believer that if you keep going so fast in life then you'll miss out on it. But there is slow and then there is slllllllloooow... I have patience but little of it

If I don't rush, my mind tends to drift off... I mean I tried to slowly walk to the shops... And I was imagining what would happen in like in 20 years, I had a 17 year old son who came and tracked me down. Would would I do... :s

No one rushes like America rushes. I have to to do everything like it's a race, or it just doesn't feel right. It's a bad habit I suppose, and it's fairly stressful, but it keeps my reactions sharp and my metabolism up. I agree, everyone is always in a hurry, and it is a problem. Just one I'm not willing to fix.

I see what you mean. We as a society view life as complex and the need to accomplish so much in it. It seems live is moving away from the old simplistic view of it into a more "do this" or "do that" thing. One notable thing is college. The administration at my school stress the importance of college onto us so much, so many times. But 99% of humanity throughout the years have never been to college and made it out fine without it. Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity! We need simplicity back in our lives.

We only have so much time to live.

Also, when I rush, my mind starts wandering, and I'm better at doing stuff when I'm not thinking about it/ at all. Playing Guitar Hero, my mind wanders. What's this? Oh goody, 100%!

I like being in a hurry. If I don't have anything to do and start relaxing, before I know it, the day's over and I've accomplished nothing. For me, a perfect schedule would keep me busy almost alll the time; people say that hurring wastes life, but I'd rather hurry through life than sit there bored.

I [bleep] hate slow people. always being slow, and not letting you by in the hallways, those people piss me the [bleep] off.

Anger problems?

nope, just a pet peeve.

and I hate the people in my school. they're all just so.

makes me wanna choke someone.

Rent a copy of Assassin's Creed.

While in-game, and amongst a crowd, push B and walk through them. Follow the main character's movements closely...

And then emulate. The 'Gentle Push' is the solution to what seems like an explosive anger.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

Procrastination is the perfect balance between the two. ::' Get assigned a 10 page research paper in early April, take your time with it (ie - put it off) until 2-3 days before it's due, then once you reach the procrastination barrier - the point at which you absolutely must start it or else you won't finish it in time - you buckle down and do it. And just like that, it's done in a flash.

My professor isn't very appreciative of my gift however, so in order to help her understand how I operate I had to explain to her that if I work on assignments when I know they aren't due for a while yet, the quality of my work is very poor (which actually is true) because my mind will constantly be wandering or wondering [why I'm working on it].

Just a unfounded theory but, you lack the ability to express and find an outlet for your anger so you resort to compressing non-sensical and irrelevant emotions and have sudden outbursts at unspecified people, simply put as a reason to be angry your brain's cognitive dissonance says that you get angry because of slow people. Where there may be an alternative reason, "and all that cal"

Orrrr run (right trigger?) and press B. Effectively shoving those slow civilians out of your path as the guards hunt you down.

I hate slow people too. Some people actually have a class that is far away and 4 minutes walking time is way too short when I have to walk a diagonal through my giant school, and stop at my locker. Why not stop a different period? Then I will be late to another class. Then when I am late 30 seconds after hauling [wagon] to my class, everybody gives me crap about it. Yeah no [cabbage] I'm late maybe I have an actual REASON, and I'm not just a lazy walker like the people that caused me to be late in the first place! And you can't run oh god no, or everybody shouts at you "Run Freshman" or "Run Forrest run!" The whole attitude of the students is for me to be late while the teachers can't stand me walking in 30 seconds after the bell rings even when class hasn't even started yet. Not to mention its the schools fault for making a schedule that makes it physically impossible to get from point A to point B without running, at which point they YELL AT YOU for running. :wall: I need some help

I don't mind people in a hurry except drivers.

For example, Today I was riding my bike, I almost got hit on the road because some [wagon] didn't have the balls to slow down for a cyclist.

Why were you cycling on the road, where cars are meant for?

maybe because the footpath is meant for pedistratians not cyclists unless they are dedicated bike-ways?

I used to carpool with this kid who took 15 minutes to take 5 books out of his locker and put them in his backpack. It was so damn annoying having to wait in the car for him.

sometimes you should think about how your slowness affects other people, namely the ones behind you.
